Introduction: Anthony Kainz was lying in his bed, resting from the long day of work at his managerial position. The ceiling fan spun lazily in his single bed-room apartment, and he stared blankly at the random patterns on the ceiling silhouetted by the city lights shining through his open window.

He slowly closed his eyes, and began to remember the horde of tasks which needed to be accomplished within a few weeks. He felt stressed, but knew he couldn't do anything about it until tomorrow. His position, his personal life… everything had been eating away at him for months.

His eyes began to flutter, as sleep overcame his tired frame. That is when it happened. As he slept, a blue aura surrounded his body. The intensity increased, as the aura grew and filled his room. Anthony opened his eyes in surprise, and when he saw the blue aura he sat up in his bed from shock.

"What the hell!" he exclaimed in surprise. He threw the heavy covers off of him, and swung his feet to jump off the bed. His feet never reached the ground. At that moment, Anthony Kainz had blinked out of all reality which he knew.

«Unknown Location | Unknown Time»

He felt a warm sensation around his calves and his toes - something which he hadn't felt before. He pried open his eyes, overcoming the drowsiness, and saw that he was staring up at the deep-blue sky with swirling white clouds. The bright sun was beating down on him, and the humidity made his clothes stick to his tired body. Exotic birds flew overhead. Anthony sat up, and rubbed his head as he looked around at his surroundings. He felt groggy, and everything seemed distant to him. He was sitting on a sandy beach, with fine white sand surrounding him, and his feet were in the warm water.

He quickly thought back to what had happened. Lying in his bed last night was the last thing he remembered. Where the hell was he, he thought, becoming very confused. What had happened? Fear began to creep through him, as he stumbled to his feet. He looked around; there were no buildings or anything in sight.

Brief Character Overview: All the characters who will be participating in the RP have been brought to this majestic world in a similar fashion. They have no knowledge of where they are. All of them were asleep when they arrived, lying on the beach. They are dressed in their night clothes, and all of them are confused. That means, they have no equipment with them, unless you sleep with your sword. ;)

The World: Unknown to the characters, they have been somehow transported to the magical world of Muniaya (pronounced Moo-nee-I-ahh). The residents of Muniaya vary from city to city, and the world is full of many different climates. As of now, the characters have landed in a location where the climate is tropical.

Muniaya is a relatively small world, with two major continents, one large and one small, connected by a small straight. A map will be made available shortly.

Plot Introduction: Before I began, I want to let you know that I am leaving out a lot of stuff right now, as this story is going to be a bit unique. Since the characters come from a different world, I don't want to reveal everything right now... the story and world will be crafted and created by you. The plot will be revealed through the events which occur in the story.

I am asking that you trust me on this… have faith in me that I, and you, the RP’ers, will make this into something enjoyable.

General Plot: The world of Muniaya is not as peaceful and serene as it appears. Two distinct powers have formed within the small continent, known as the Vorians and the Marabians. Thousands of years ago, these two warring nations had fought amongst one another, for the control of land the different beliefs which they had followed.

The Vorians finally overcame the Marabians, becoming the stronger and more powerful nation. Using their superiority to their advantage, they became cruel... taking unfair advantage of the Marabians. Each Marabian city would send half of it’s good to the Vorians, or face terrible torture.

Millenia have come and gone, with the same unfairness in life. The Marabians have come to accept this lifestyle, and no longer question whether it is just or not… it is simply life. All attempts to fight this system have resulted in catastrophic death and tragedy. Magic had been around since the conflict had started, but it was only recently when the knowledge of magic exploded. While it is easy to learn the basics, it is very difficult to master the advanced… only select individuals can learn to harness this magic.

Various forms of magic had formed, each with its own specialty. It happened that the Marabians learned magic which helped them with their daily duties; the majority of it being related healing, working, etc, where as the Vorians learned the dark arts of black magic.

Over the millennia, Marabian nations have risen and fallen, and split into numerous nations, each practicing their own life style. The number of Vorians has greatly diminished, but with their black magic, they have kept their evil reign of power…

Joining: As usual, fill out this sign up sheet. Please post your character in this thread.

Late Submissions: Late submissions are available, but depending on how late the submission is, you may not be a character from the modern world. Each late submission will be dealt with independently; please PM me to work this out.

Black.Ice’s Personal Note:

Guys, I know there is a lot of information left out. But please be assured, that this is most likely one of the most complex RP’s that you will ever see. I have spent much time going through the details, and have talked with many people regarding specifics. Just ask Orodreth, for example.

I urge everyone to join, no matter how limited they are in time or how good they are at RP’ing. This is going to be an RP that will be fun and it will be one to remember.

Please keep in mind that this will contain elements of modern, fantasy and the future. You will be in for a lot of surpries, and a lot of emotional conflict. This is going to be an RP... that I hope... changes the way RP's are looked at.

OOC: Alright, the story begins. For important parts, such as transitions, etc, I am going to be using first person... almost as if a retrospective, looking back at everything after it's all happened.

IC: As I think about our journey… the adventure that we undertook, I am surprised to see that I’ve lived to see the end of it. All of us, everyone who became involved in our struggle… our quest … knows that we’ve been through rough times. We all experienced times of pain and loss, while we shared our triumphs and moments of joy together. We became more than a group of stranded strangers helping each other out… we became family. We were there for each other when we needed help the most and we relied on one another in times of distress and grief. It’s a bond; a bond that I’ve never experienced nor will experience with anyone else in my life.

Dirt and debris filled the dark brown hair of Anthony Kainz as he walked along the sandy beach. The sand was fine, and almost too perfect – not a single rock or misplaced item was in sight. The pants that he was wearing were still damp from the ocean water, and he was still puzzled at what had happened. He had been wandering for nearly fifteen minutes, looking for any sign of civilization.

On top of his confusion, fear was beginning to influence Tony’s thoughts and decisions. His mind continued to race over the possibilities. What had happened? Where was he? How had he come into this place? No matter what he thought of, he couldn’t think of a logical answer that wasn’t far fetched.

It was after a few moments that he saw a faint spot in the sand dunes that deviated from the normal brownish hues. He looked closer at the abnormality in the fine sand, and saw that it was another human. Feeling a renewed vigor, he ran through the sand, his bare feet tripping and stumbling as he sunk into it.

He approached the man lying on the ground, and ran up to him. The man was fairly skinny, and had short blonde hair. He appeared to be in his early thirties, or late twenties.

“Hey!” Tony yelled, his voice coming out a bit harsh and dry.

The man turned towards him, and looked at him weakly. He was propped up against a large rock in the beach. It was the Tony noticed that the man was covered in blood.

“Are you all right?”

“Thank God,” the man responded, his voice coming out feebly.

“What happened? Are you alright?” Tony said as he kneeled down next to the man. His heart was racing, as his eyes drifted to the man’s legs which were severely lacerated. The man’s teeth were clenched, and his skin looked pale.

“Where am I?” the man asked Tony.

“I .. I don’t know. I just came here. Look, we need to get you help,” Tony responded quickly. Although he wanted to give more information to the man; he knew that the wounds were more important.

“I… I’ve lost.. a lot of blood. Everything’s spinning right now,

“Okay, hang on. I’m going to try stop the bleeding,” Tony said, as he contemplated how he was going to do this.

“I…you cant. The cuts are too deep. I’ve … uhhh … already… already wrapped with… … the little cloth that I had,” the man slowly managed to say.

“Maybe I can use more to wrap it?” Tony suggested, his fear was now gone, but it was replaced by anxiousness. The man was severely wounded, and Tony did not know what to do.

“Nnno, noo. I’m a .. an RN. The cuts are too deep. It’s …. Uhh, too late,” the man barely managed to say.

“What about a tourniquet? There has to be something!”

The man simply shook his head, and was breathing heavily.

“Tell me what I should do! Elevate your legs?”

The man closed his eyes; he was still breathing.

“C’mon,” Tony said, as he reached for the man. He gently shook him.

“I can’t stay awake.”

“Concentrate. Focus,” Tony said, “Hang on. I’ll help you. Hold on,”

Tony quickly stood up, and looked around. There was no one; nothing in sight.

“ANYBODY! I NEED HELP” Tony bellowed at the top of his lungs. He became frantic, as he looked around.

“Come… back,” the man whispered.

Tony sunk to his knees, and went next to the man.

“It’s too late. Even… if, we get an ambulance… I can’t make it,”

“Don’t say that,” Tony said. “You’ll be fine. Just concentrate on staying awake,”

“Listen to me” the man said, with renewed strength. “Tell me your name,” he said.

“Tony… Anthony Kainz.”

“My… my name is Dan. Daniel Sanders. I live in the… the suburbs. Right outside of Chicago. Please tell my fiancé… Please tell her that I love her. Her name is Andrea. Andrea Turner”

“You’ll tell her yourself. C’mon, concentrate,”

Daniel reached out, and wrapped his hand around Tony’s, firmly holding onto Tony. His skin felt dry; and his hands were cold from the lack of blood. “Promise me you’ll tell her,”

“You’ll tell her yourself. C’mon, don’t say that,”

“Promise me,” Daniel managed to say again, weakly.

“I’ll tell her, I promise. C’mon, should we sit you up?”

Daniel shook his head. His head dropped back into the soft sand, and his eyes fluttered back as he went into a state of unconsciousness. Tony began to panic. “SOMEBODY HELP ME!” he screamed again at the top of his lungs.

He held firmly onto the man’s hand. Daniel was still breathing, but it was becoming slow… and erratic.

Tony stayed by Dan’s side for half an hour. He tried waking him up, and applying pressure to stop the bleeding. He looked around, but there was nothing he could do. Anthony Kainz was a man of decisiveness, and he was one to get things done – but for the first time in his life, he stood by, utterly helpless as the life of Daniel slipped away. It only took an hour before Daniel’s pulse stopped, and he died.

And it was the first time, in a very long time that Anthony wept. He did not weep because he was depressed by the loss of someone he didn’t know; he wept because he was trapped in an unknown world, at an unknown place covered with this dead man’s blood. He had held onto the dying man, watching the life slip away from him. He sat helpless, unable to do a damn thing.

It was the first time that he felt lost; helpless and truly frightened. He collected himself quickly, subduing his emotions, and carried Daniel’s body to a nearby tree away from the shore. He had no equipment to dig, and the ground was impossible to penetrate with his bare hands. Tony lightly set the body of Daniel down on the ground, adjusting the stiffening limbs in the best way that he could.

“Rest in peace, Daniel,” Tony said, as he shook his head and walked away from the place as fast as his legs could carry him. His clothes had small stains of blood on them, and Tony didn’t know what to do. He simply continued walking along the shore, almost trying to ignore everything that had happened… he found it easier not to think about it.

He had walked less than five-hundred feet, when he came across another body. He cringed at the sight of it, but walked close to examine the young brunette women in her late twenties. She was wearing her night clothes, but there was something that caught his attention; something that her cold fingers were clutching onto… a ring.

Tony, kneeled down next to her body, and slowly pulled at her fingers up to examine the ring. It was a diamond ring, with a thicker band then usual. Tony found himself examining the ring, and his eyes ran across the small engraved lettering which read, “Andrea: Always and Forever – Dan”

Tony closed his eyes, and shook his head. He knew what the right thing to do was; and went ahead and picked up her light frame. Through the incline of the beach, Tony carried the women slowly but steadily up towards the same tree that he had tried to get away from earlier. He set her rigid body down next to Daniel’s, and tried to position her the best he could… and lastly, he put the ring back in her stiff hands.

“As Daniel died, he made sure that someone would be able to tell you…. That he loved you,” Tony said aloud, shaking his head in half pity, and in half confusion.

And then, Tony took steps back as he shook his head. He wanted to be anywhere but the place he was. He felt sick in his stomach, and was weak in his legs. He had been to funerals before, but this was much worse for him… he felt sick; he felt worried and frightened. He was losing control of himself.

Tony continued his long walk on the sandy beaches. Tropical birds flew overhead, and the ocean peacefully washed up against the rocks and sand, making a calming sound. Not a sound of humanity was heard in the distance. Tony forced himself to continue… he walked for an hour, hoping to find someone; or at least something that wasn’t natural… he wanted a sign of humanity.

It was then in the distance, that Tony saw another figure… another walking figure.

“Hey!” Tony yelled, putting his hands to his mouth to amplify his voice.

The man in the distance turned and looked towards Tony, raising his hands to his eyes to block the sun out them. Tony, feeling a rush of energy after seeing someone new, began jogging towards the man.

OOC: Your character was walking towards my character. I inform him that there’s nothing back there for a few miles… and we continue in the direction that I was walking.

Everyone else, please post your character introduction. You wake up on the beach, and don’t know what’s going on. You find no signs of humanity… no signs of human life (that includes dead bodies. :P )

As he awoke, he could feel the gentle lapping of the waves against his bare legs. Opening his eyes proved painful, and the back of his head was moist. He slowly brought his right hand up and rubbed the back of his head. As he brought it away, he finally noticed the throbbing pain that seemed to be originating behind his eyes. As he looked at his hand, it was stained crimson, with flecks of drying blood smeared in with the fresh stuff.

"Oh, that looks tasty.." he says to himself, trying not to look into the blazing sun.

As he got up, ever so slowly, brushing the sand off of his Khaki shorts, and noticing his favorite T-shirt was ripped in several places, he finally noticed the landscape. In front of him was a nearly perfect ocean, blue and tinged with green. The sand itself seemed to glow, and was a nearly uniform tan. Looking behind himself, he could see trees and some foothills denoted by larger, more elegant peaks.

His head ached, and bad. As he looked down, he saw the rock that his head had struck. It was a picturesque white, except for the exceptional red stain on the edge.

"Either that was ALOT of Vodka, or this is a pretty elaborate prank.." he said to himself, squinting down the beach.

Shapes.

As he looked, the figure became slightly clearer although it was a few miles of.

"A journey of 1,000 miles start with a single step, and all that crap.." he mumbled to himself, and began the tedious process of walking.

Liam shook his head, feeling a sharp pain in his head... he struggled to remember the previous night's events...

*flashback time*

"Hey, Eran! Lay off the alchohol!" Liam said, incredibly piss drunk himself.

"Oh piss off, mr. L-T. I.. uhh..." and with that, the young marine known as Eran passed out drunk.

Liam stood up, and stumbled out of the mess hall to the guardpost. It was full of weapons, of course, but as soon as Liam sat in his chair, he was out like a light-leaving his pistol on his desk(OOC: I haven't completely forgot my gun!).

*flashback over*

His eye burst open, and he felt his belt for any sign of a pistol... anything.. but to no avail. He was weaponless; a royal gun expert, without a gun.... He chuckled at the cold irony, and started walking down the beach he had woken up on.

Within minutes, he saw... something... something, lying on the beach. His spirits were slightly higher, as he ran for the shape. 30 seconds of full march later, Liam stood above a bloody form.. that was... Eran!

"Eran! Oh dear God, not you, too! What killed you?" Liam said to the body, and started to loot it, for a compass, rations, a gun, anything... the only things being some cigarettes, two MREs, a canteen, and Eran's dogtags.

"Damn..." Liam sighed, closed his eyes, and murmured a prayer. Then, he stood, taking another look at his fellow soldier: Eran was laying there, clutching his dogtags to his chest. He also had deep cuts, and his face was barely recognizable, but you could still see the last sight of horror on his face. There was blood all over his coat and pants, and his boots were torn off.

Liam continued down the beach, and felt.. cold, alone... sand was on one side, and Liam tasted the water. Salty. Damn. Ok, so sand on one side, salty water on the other.

He walked on for what seemed like hours, until finally coming up a form... a standing, human form.. Liam smiled from ear to ear, and charged straight for it.

Kristen, after a long day of working, looks about her room. Wearing only her night outfit, she glares down at her little cat.

"It's Ok. Mommy's just tired... C'mon up here, y'little snot!"

The cat just looks up at her, not knowing what she said, but it hops up reluctantly, and spins around on Kristin's back. The little short haired, black cat purrs a soft tone, almost as if singing Kristin to sleep, like always. The cat falls asleep doing so, and Kristin slowly drifts out, in a tired daze to a full on sleep.

"This... Is what I love... About life..."

BANG!

"What the?!"

Kristin jumps up. She finds herself only lying on a beach, where there's a crate up ahead of her. It seems to have almost fallen from the sky, the way it had busted... Not knowing what's going on, she looks about... The world is... Perfect? No. Immaculate. It's exactly as she always wanted it for her and a person to spend their life together in.

Kristen gets up, and brushes herself off. Her white outfit shows the sand well, so she takes a little time to look her best, even though she knows not where she is. Almost lost from herself, she looks around herself. her hands are the same... Feet the same... Her birthmark on the back of her left hand is the same... Always with the small black mark that looks similar to a cat.. It's all there... But she wonders who she is, why she's here, and what's going on...

"Hello?! Is someone there?! Help me, please!"

Her lost cries almost hurt her throat, as if she's not had water in forever. She gasps a little bit, and groans, in pain from the shout. She looks around for something to have... Nothing...

"I better get some... Water soon..."

She feels faint, and looks ahead... A small set of footsteps in a run is heard... And slowly, it gets louder... She starts talking ahead...

"You... Help me... Water..."

With that, she starts to fall forward, only to fall into the arms of a gentleman. Looking up, she smiles, and says...

"Hi... I'm Kristen. I'm lost... And you're so kind for catching me..."

She fades out...

Liam held this girl... Kristen, she said, in his arms.

"Umm... okay..." he said, and fumbled for a canteen. He poured some water into her mouth, not enough to sustain anyone for a long period of time, but enough to keep a person alive.

"God, this is awkward..." he said to himself, and set the girl down on a dune. He found some seaweed, and began tying it into knots to use as a fishing net.

Of course, its seaweed, not a rope. He couldn't tie it tight enough, and decided to give up on it. Of course, the weed was dry. But, Liam didn't have anything to light anything with.

"Ugh..." Liam sighed, and looked over at Kristen who had decided to join the world.

"Welcome back, Yank." he said.

"Yank? Back? Where am I?" she exclaimed excitedly.

"I... have no idea. You're as good as asking a ghost crab. I don't even have a lighter. And as for supplies, I have 4 MREs, and 3 canteens. One of them is 3/4 full, since I gave some to you." Liam pessimistically announced, and looked to the sky.

"So... what now? Heck, I don't even know your name." the girl shouted.

"My name, is Lt. Liam G. McCarter. I'm with the British Royal Marines, though you could probably assume I'm Brittish from my accent." he answered, and laid back.

"Uhh.. right..."

"Oh, another thing.", the marine said, and tossed Kristen the 3/4 full canteen. "Bring up, Kristen, was it?"

"Thanks. So, what do we do now?" Kristen asked between gulps.

"We wait until you finish that canteen, and then we go further down the shore. Hopefully, we'll find more people who got here like us, or find civilization." Liam answered, stood and brushed himself off. Kristen stood as well, gave the canteen back, and they both proceeded downshore.

"Niiiick!!! Where is my CD Case?"

"Damnit all Melissa, for the last time; I don't know!"

"I know that you got into my room today!" She screamed from the other room

"Oh my GOD M', go bitch at dumb and dumber if you want to find out where all your stuff disappears to... I took one CD out of there today, ripped it onto my computer and then put it back... I never took the holder thingie."

His older sister marched into his (Extremely "Unkempt") room and backhanded him on the shoulder, "I didn't tell you that you could take one of my CD's!"

"Ugh..." Nick grabbed M' by the shoulders and gently shoved her out the door, "I don't know where your CD holder is, and I quite honestly couldn't care much less. Now go screw a horse or something, your pissing me off."

~Two Hours Later~

"Guys! I'm home!!" Was the official "Turn the volume down and start the frantic pick-up process before your father gets back home" signal from mom. And mom had just now gotten back home, it'd been a long day, a very long day...

"C'mon guys, hop to it! Dad's getting home a bit early today so we can have dinner together for once, I want this place cleaned up before he gets back!"

Ashley had just walked up from the cellar, "Hey mom! M's out with that guy again, and we think Tommy broke his big toe, Timmy's trying to shoot the neighbors cat... And Nick's in his room, said he wasn't feeling good."

"Which guy? Wheres Tommy? And is Tim using the BB gun or the paintball gun?"

"The Jock guy. In the den. Paintball."

"Alright, go help Tommy into the kitchen, I'll be there in a minute." Replied mom, as she started walking towards the stairs, Nick's music was still blaring... You could hear it from across the street, and half the house was shaking. "NICK!! TURN IT DOWN AND GET OUT HERE!" She screamed in a futile attempt to get him out without having to enter "The Lair". He was more than likely asleep, which didn't surprise her one bit, sick or not.

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* "Nick! I said turn it down!! Are you even awake?!" *KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* "OK! I'm coming in!" She opened the door and ran over to the computer as fast as she could, aiming to hit the power button on the speakers. It was a direct hit, and the ungodly loud sound ceased to exist. "Nick...? C'mon, get up, Ashley already told me that your not feeling good. I just need you to help with a couple of cho-" She went to touch his head, or what would have been her sons head... Had he been there.

Warm. Sand. Liquid. No Bed?

Nick woke up in what had to be a dream... This was really freakin' weird. He'd woken up on some beautiful beach, in the middle of nowhere. The surf was engulfing half his body, and the other half was covered in his own vomit. He was just thankful that his lower half was the one in the surf... he hated the types of dreams where he drowned.

He was still in his sleep pants too, which were now soaking wet thanks to the ocean... Nick slowly pulled himself up off of the sandy ground and came to his knees, but not without throwing up again. "Goddamn... Of all the lousy dreams to have when your sick." He said aloud. "Theres gotta be a house somewhere... someplace to sleep maybe." He thought about the irony of what he'd just said and laughed... "Sleeping in a dream, butterfly or man?" He smiled and stood up after swishing the salt water around in his mouth a bit in an attempt to get rid of the taste in his mouth.

After a couple of minutes worth of walking around the beach in search of a condo or something, he came across some footprints and began following them.

(OOC: ^_^ Yea! Imma so happeh! Aight, Umzorz... He found Brian's footprints, either his RP'er or BI can fit my char into the group.... I'll just be walking the same path that Brian did until I meet up with Kainz & Goodwill.)

Aaron Leonard
On the beach
Midday
*****

The cry of gulls rang through Aaron's ear, annoying him more than his alarm clock did. Aaron pondered this for a moment. To his knowledge he hadn't ever had seagulls in his room, which was miles away from any ocean. And his bed felt unusual. He slowly opened his eyes.

“Since when has sand been in my room?” he thought to himself.

As he tried to lift his body off the ground a sharp pain ran through him. He moaned as he propped himself up with his arms. He'd never been so sore before. He tried to shield his eyes from the sun, but as he lifted his arm off the ground he fell and hit the sand hard, sending another sharp pain through him.

“Ow, ow, ow, ow.” he said as he lifted himself up again. He slowly, with many ows and after falling down once, got to his feet. He stumbled a little, and almost lost his balance. He looked around, checking his surroundings for the first time. He was on a sandy beach at around midday. Confused as to how he got here, he tried to remember what happened last night.

He had gotten home from the party at around one. He kinda remembered his parents scolding him, but that wasn't important. Then he'd gone to his room and taken his shoes off and gotten in bed. Nothing unusual there. And somehow he'd woken up in the middle of a sandy beach.

His legs were beginning to feel better now, and he was sure he could walk. He began to climb on top of a rock. He soon reached the top, and lifted his arm to cover his eyes as the sun was blinding him. He couldn't see anything in any direction. only beach, sea, and beach. He noticed that the sea looked... different. He couldn't place it, but it wasn't the same murky water he'd been used to. He climbed down, and began to walk down the beach to his right.

It seemed to be an eternity as he slowly walked down the beach. He quickly realized the growing need for water, as the heat from the sun was making him ever so thirsty. He staggered forward over the burning hot sand. It was becoming more and more an effort to take a step. His vision was becoming hazy now, and he didn't see the dip in the sand. He placed his foot over thin air, expecting there to be solid ground. Next thing he knew, he was staring at the sky.

He was about to get up when he realised his back felt a little damp. He lifted himself and looked down. He'd fallen right in the middle of a small stream, only about as big as his arm. He knelt down and began to drink. It was good, refreshing. He splashed some water on his face, then sat back.

He looked around again. Nothing moved, nothing at all. There was no noise besides the ocean. Normaly he would have thought this to be serene. But he felt that there was something sinister afoot. He felt alone and helpless. He felt scared.

*OOC: I forgot to mention anything about my family in my character sheet, so I'll do it here and if BI wants to put it in there he can. If he can.

Aaron's family was your average family. A mom, a dad, and a younger sister, who's nine. He loves them dearly, though he may not show it to his sister at times.*

~ From The Journal Of Kevin Smith ~

I sat at my computer, typing numbers.
5674.
5675.
5676.
I don't know what you do to pass the time, but one of my favorite activities is typing numbers sequencially, and seeing how many I can do in an hour.
It really gives me a feeling of delight when I make a new record. My record at the time was 5699.
It looked to me as if I was about to break that record.
When I reached the number 5697, my heart was beating like a jackhammer in my chest. I glanced at the clock, and saw that the second hand was almost to the 12, signalling the end of my hour.
I hastily jammed in 5698 and hit enter. My heart felt like it was going to explode. I was typing as fast as I could, but it felt as if my hands were moving through molasses.
My left pointer finger jammed down into the 5 button, and quickly slid over to the 6. My ring finger on my right hand pressed the 9 button, and a fraction of a second later my middle finger hit the 8 button.
My right hand rocketed towards the enter button, and a premature smile showed on my face.
As my hand made contact with the enter button, a sizzle and an audible pop issued from the inside of my computer. Nothing happened on the screen.
I fretted my brow and pressed the enter button, but again to no avail.
I screamed.
I jumped up out of chair, filled with various negative emotions, and turned to run out the door.
Turns out the door was closed.
I fell backwards onto my bed and passed out.
---------------------------

I awoke quite some time later, covered in sand.
I groaned.
I looked around and saw stretches of beach and nothing else as far as I could see.
"...Where am I?" I wondered aloud.
I looked down at the waves crashing in front of me.

Tobias was woken by a crab trying to make a home in his left nostril.

"Oi, bugger off!"

Why was there a crab on his face? He removed it. Then he looked around. A beach, okaaaay.

He did not say "that's odd", "thats odd" just was not the sort of thing a respectable engineer said.

"Go to sleep in a bed, wake up on a beach. Right, who's playing silly buggers?"

He looked up and down the beach. nothing but unbroken sand, sea and dunes, as far as the eye could see. Which was odd. He thought it, but did not say it. Off the top of his head he could not think of anywhere in the British Isles that had a beach like this, Especially as he could not see any boats out at sea and no towns on the horizon. Still, anything was possible. and he thought he could see a river meeting the sea off in the distance.

That way would do then.

He had been trudging over the sand for an hour or so, judging by the position of the sun anyway, for some reason his watch was buggered, when he noticed a figure a way along the beach walking towards the river.

"HEY!, YOU THERE!" He shouted at the figure, picking up his pace

Victor was sitting in the truck stop with his guitar next to him. He had a smile, as he was counting a wad of money he had just gotten from the truckers. Truckers always had an excess amount of money, and were always looking for things to spend it on. Victor, just so happens was a good source of entertainment at these truck stops, so he was almost always a good choice to spend money on. He thought he could easily make a living out of being a musician, because he had come up with some really cool riffs and the like while he was on the road, and always wow'ed the truckers every time he played, even if they had seen him before, as the show was never the same twice.

Victor finished counting. 350 dollars. Quite a haul for Victor. He opened his guitar case and stashed the 350 with the rest of what he had. Altogether, he figured he had 10,000 dollars or so, and was working on spending that.

He looked up from the bench, and saw a trucker standing there. The man said, "Hey Vic. You get enough cash from this?"

Victor stood up and said, "Yo Alvin. Actually, I got more than I normally get. 350 is more than usual."

Alvin chuckled, "Things looking up then eh? Good. I'm glad. Maybe you can get enough to go into a town and actually make somethin' of yourself instead of wandering the streets."

Victor smiled. Of all the truckers he's met, Alvin is one of the nicer ones. Victor said, "Yea. Hopefully. Although I find this life relaxing. No bills to pay, no place I HAVE to be at a certain time. And I enjoy meeting all the truckers."

Alvin looked around and nodded, "Yea. These guys are like puppy dogs. They have a tough exterior, but you gotta look past that. Listen. I've gotta go. Got a shipment due in Houston in about 2 days. Got a ways to go. Can I give ya a lift? I could use the company."

Victor said, "Sorry, but I'm gonna stay here for a while longer. Then I'm gonna walk up the road to the town there and get some new clothes. These are kinda grundgy."

Alvin said, "Alright. I understand. Don't be a stranger, ya hear? I'll be looking for ya later."

Alvin turned and walked away, and Victor waved at his back. Turning to his guitar case, he picked it up and turned back. He waited until Alvin was driving away, then walked out the door. He wasn't going to stick around. He simply wanted to be alone while he was wandering. He was going to go up the highway to the town that he knew was there.

Victor walked for a few miles, and saw the town. As he approached, he heard someone yelling behind him. He turned and saw an SUV barreling down the highway going at least 80, with some kid hanging out the window with a 2x4 in his hands. It didn't hit Victor to move, until the 2x4 slammed into the back of his head. Victor had turned his head at the last possible moment, and probably saved his life.

He fell over and started seeing stars. He heard the SUV shoot off, leaving Victor kneeling there. He fought it for a while, but couldn't forever. He just gave up, and collapsed, losing consciousness not long after.

--------------------------------------------------------

He woke up hearing gulls. But that wasn't possible. He was in the center of Idaho. There wasn't any way he could hear gulls. He had a funny taste in his mouth. Sand. That woke Victor up immediately. He knew he was laying face down in sand, while hearing gulls.

Victor sat up, and saw that he was on a beach. He shook his head for a minute, and cleared his thoughts. Reaching for his guitar, he realized it. His guitar wasn't there. He looked around frantically, but saw no one. He knew exactly what happened. Someone, probably those kids from the highway, took him and his stuff to the beach, stole his stuff, and left him there.

Victor stood up and screamed, "GOD DAMN YOU! WHEN I FIND YOU, YOU ARE FUCKING DEAD!"

With that said, Victor rubbed the back of his head, feeling a massive lump, and winced slightly. Looking up and down the beach, he shrugged and walked to his left. North from what he could figure out. On a beach like this, the best you can do is walk north, cuz north always leads to civilization sooner or later.

Hank McArthur had just gotten home from a long day at the restaraunt, one of the trainees had accidently set the second stove on fire because he forgot he was baking while he was flirting with the waitresses. He was fired that night. Hank stumbled over to his room taking off his shirt and socks before floping into bed, he was off in dreamland before he hit the pillow…

Time flies away…

Hank started to slowly wake up feeling refreshed and well rested. Like he did every morning he got up without opening his eyes and walked to where the fridge would be. Feeling no fridge his eyes bolted open finally realising he wasn't at his house, or any house. He was on a beach with no sign of civalization in sight. "Well this is odd…" He thought out loud looking about, "Either I'm still asleep or this is someone's idea of a practical joke. Probably Steve, he's been after me since April…" Hank streched, spun around and walked in the direction he happened to be facing. "HEY YOU THERE!" A british accented voice yelled from behind Hank.

Turning around he saw a tall british guy runing towards him, the man was wearing a shirt with words on it and boxers that looked like the Union Jack. Looking around and seeing no one else Hank realized that this man was talking to him. "Yes?" The man came closer and slowed down. "Do you know where we are?" "Hello to you too… no I don't. I thought I was dreaming, but if I were you would be a girl, probably in a bikini…" The man gave Hank a strange look. "By the way, I'm Hank McArthur… who are you?"

"Hello to you too… no I don't. I thought I was dreaming, but if I were you would be a girl, probably in a bikini…"

Tobias gave the man a strange look.

"By the way, I'm Hank McArthur… who are you?"

"I am Tobias Moon. I have no idea where this place is either. although you may have guessed that from the fact I asked you where this is. Let me guess, you went to sleep and just woke up here for no apparent reason?"

Tobias didnt jump to conclusions, he plunged headlong towards them.....

"Got it in one, lot of going around is there?"

"Well, all of two cases that I know of, I hope it isnt catching" Replied Tobias "Where abouts were you when you went to sleep if you dont mind me asking?"

Hank told him....

"Right, the other side of the atlantic, so, wherever this is I think we can assume no one chartered a long distance flight or something for at least one of us just to play a practical joke."

"We need to find civilization, find out where we are, find food and suchlike....Unless you happen to have water and fishing gear hidden away somewhere" stated Hank.

"Unfortunately no, anyway, theres a river that way so I suggest we go that way, At least we will be okay for water then." said Tobias

"For wont of any better place to go, I have to agree, but I still wonder what the hell is going on...." came the reply.

They began walking.

Great job everyone, so far. Very interesting in deed. I will be continuing this shortly

OOC: Your character was walking towards my character. I inform him that there’s nothing back there for a few miles… and we continue in the direction that I was walking.

Everyone else, please post your character introduction. You wake up on the beach, and don’t know what’s going on. You find no signs of humanity… no signs of human life (that includes dead bodies. )

I didn't want anyone to find anyt equipment or any people (dead people, that is). But since we've already found a water canteen, MRE's, and stuff, I see no problem to it. As for the dead people, it's all right too. I would appreciate it if no one found anymore...

Other than that, keep up the great work.

OOC: Dang, 1 day and we've already got a ton of posts.

IC: Jumah opened his eyes. He saw only white, and bright white at that. My room is not this bright, he thought to himself. He promptly closed his eyes and tried to think what was going on. He was laying on his back, arms and legs spread out. Both of his arms were palm side up and his legs were rotated slightly to the outside. His head faced straight up, perpendicular to the bed. All was exactly as normal, exactly like he liked it.

Except there was no bed. Whatever he was resting on was much too firm for his bed. He wanted to turn to look and see what it was but his mind had him frozen to the spot. He opened his eyes again, the light burning them. He closed and opened them again, and again, until finally he found he could move.

Jumah sat up slowly. He did not like what came into his view as the sky passed out of it. It was water. Lots of water. An ocean probably. He could smell salt in the air, which meant he was probably looking at an ocean. He despised salt water; unlike fresh water it always left a residue, which had to be scrubbed off. But the worst part was when he realized what was under him, supporting his body. Sand.

As Jumah saw this he jumped up. He was on his feet in moments, looking down at the ground around him. There was sand everywhere, in every direction. All the way to the horizon, nothing but sand and salt water. This must be a nightmare, he thought. His bare feet slowly sunk into the wet sand. He could feel each individual grain pressing on his toes, filling in every crack in his skin. His night shirt stuck to his back, the sweat and sand uncomfortably glued to his back.

Jumah's hands sprung to his back, swatting off the sand. He pulled off his shirt and shook it in the wind, picking off the grains that were stubborn enough to stay on the cloth. Next were his pants. After the two had been thoroughly cleaned he slipped them back on carefully, not letting them touch his skin until they were completely in place. He neatly rolled up his pant legs to keep them from getting more sand on them.

This exposed his bare ankles, the dark skin coated in sand. He cringed at this, his eyes passing over every particle. It was either sand or salt water, there was no escaping it. He argued with himself, a silent battle of wits, before deciding the sand was preferrable to the sticky water.

At this Jumah sighed. A nightmare indeed. Looking out at the ocean, the sharp air stinging his nose, the only thing left to decide was what to do now. He felt a loss of direction. How long would he be here in this nightmare world? When would he wake up? He thought back to some of his other dreams, sometimes he had to do something to end the dream. He looked to the left and right up the beach; there was nothing in either direction.

He twisted his body ninety degrees to the left, aligning himself parallel to the beach. Left was a better direction than right anyway. Definitely better...

Sixteen year old Sandeep opened his eyes. Oddly, instead of seeing the inside of his room, he gazed upon a blue sky. His is nose had filled with a salty smell and the sound of what he recognized as seagulls echoed in his ears. He put his hands to the ground to lift himself and felt a rough, grainy surface. Once raised to a sitting position, his eyes widened at the sight of a brilliant blue mass of water. He then looked to his left seeing acres of light beige sand. Apparently he was sitting on some beach. But how? why? The last thing he remembered was closing his eyes to go to sleep. A dream, perhaps?

At first glance it seemed like the only explanation, but it felt too real, so vivid. He could think too clearly. He could feel the sand under him and smell the brackish air. Not to mention he was still in his night clothes. It couldn’t be a dream, it wasn’t possible.

He sat, pondering it over for some minutes before getting back to his senses. “Wherever I am, real or not, there has to be a way out. If it’s a dream I’ll wake up sooner or later, and if it isn’t…”He paused in thought. “Well if it isn’t a dream then I’m not sure what to do, but sitting here won’t help much.”

With that he lifted himself from the gritty earth and began brushing the sand out of his messy black hair then off his loose orange pants and grey T-shirt.

Sandeep walked the desolate beach, seeing nothing but sand from the front and back of him. To the right was an ocean. To the far off left were trees which he was not anxious in the least with venturing through. The scenery was peaceful and picturesque, but the total bareness of the place gave him an uneasy feeling.

As he continued on for several minutes, nothing, and no one, had come into sight. Not a single silhouette of something that resembled a human being was able to be seen for a long distance. Sandeep was beginning to feel a sudden anxiety he knew was either worry or loneliness. Perhaps both.

“Hello!” He called out to the nothingness ahead of him. “Is anyone here? Can anyone hear me?”

He waited a few seconds. The only reply was his echo, reverberating from the trees far in the distance.

(I'll take out the trees if thats not supposed to be in there. I figured there had to be something next to the beach and I tried to be as least specific as possible about it.)

Chris awoke to the feeling that something was crawling on him. He tilted his head and found himself face to antenna with a crab. “AAAAAAAAAH!” Chris screamed as he jumped up and brushed the crab off quickly. “Where the heck am I?” Chris wondered aloud, “What is going on? Where am I?” Chris looked around, the fact that he was not at home, already stuck in his mind. He looked down and saw he was in jeans and a white T-shirt with a bald eagle on it. “Well at least I still have my clothes on.” Chris looked around, then just started walking down the beach on his left, calling out, “Hello? Is anyone around?? Is anyone here? Is anyone alive? Is anyone dead? Helooooooo?” Now, being 6 foot 7 inches, he can see quite far, but no matter where he looked, he could not see a single person. Suddenly he tripped over something, looked down and saw a body. “Aaaaaaagh!” He shouted, then realized that the person was not dead, just sleeping. He bent down and started to lightly shove the person trying to wake him/her up. “Hey, wake up. Come on wake up. Wake up! WAAKE UUUP!” He shouted almost at the top his lungs. Suddenly, the person woke up, looked at Chris and started shouting.

It had been a long night.

All that Alex could remember was Steffany, they had finally gone out, it had been months and still she couldn't get over her brother's death. As Alex took in one final breathe, looking at his clock, it was 2:31 after midnight, hi just laid there in the back of his car, and watched the stars.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

He slowly opened his eyes.

A white river, no a big sea, maybe an ocean was hurling around. fields. The beach was pretty darn pretty, he could make a nice resort out of it. Suddenly Alex realized something:

" Since when do we have this in the middle of the Arizona desert? " he thought.

He looked around.... a man was leaning over him.

" Who the hell are you, and where the hell are we? "

" Nice questions, can't answer them, would you happen to have a cell phone? "

He checked his pockets. Thank God. His cell phone was stil lthere.

" Ok, think, who do we call in case of an emergency. Steven brothers? No too predictable. Mommy? Nah, she's dead. Grandpa? Nah, his horsei s too slow. Maybe the Police. Ahh I'll give it a try. " he quickly dialed 911.

And so...... in a few minute's time he gave up dialing, threw his cell phone ot the ground and stomped it with all of his might.

" Ok, now that I see that there's no help coming, we might as well find some food. Now where's the nearest mall, by the way I'm Alex, Alex Mion. And you are? "

" Chris, Chris Pike. "
And so he headed east, following the river's stream...

<tag Brian Goodwill>

(OOC: Wow. I lost it all. All of it. All because of that stupid back button on my mouse. Anyways, I'll redo it again...

Wow, 19 posts? I suppose that's what I get for sleeping ^_~)

The clock struck twelve as Brian Goodwill transferred another sheet of paper to the "finished" pile. He picked up his coffee and went to take a drink but soon realized that he had already finished it an hour ago. The coffee was set down with a look of dismay on Brian's face.

"Paperwork. What the hell is paperwork good for? It's all bloody useless, that's what. Just designed to make workers stay at the office for the rest of their lives." With a thwack of a stamp, another paper was shifted to the finished pile. Brian looked at the rest of the papers, most of which were overdue. He signed the current one and transferred it yet again.

"I mean, shouldn't I have subordinates to give this to? That's supposed to be the way it works, right? I mean, I'm high up in the company. I shouldn't have to be deciding whether..." Brian looked at the current paper, "...whether we should change to two ply or keep singly ply." Checked no and stamped, the paper was shifted to the finished pile. The coffee was picked up yet again and set down as soon as Brian realised he had picked up the empty mug for the 10th time.

"Oh, no, but that couldn't happen could it? Peterson just had to come in here, yelling about how no one could be trusted at the office. Then he gave it to me. To me! What am I, some sort of lackey? I should be running this joint." A paper fell off the front of the desk and Brian ignored it, instead opting to take another from the mound of unfinished.

"And to make matters worse, he turns to me and says, "Brian, I want these done tomorrow." Tomorrow! All of this paperwork done tomorrow. I do have a life, you know! I have a wife and kids..." Brian yawns loudly and sleepily stamps the next paper.

"That reminds me. Sarah is probably going to be waiting for me. Just to bitch at me again for being late. Well, Sarah, I keep the food on the table! Realize that for once and stop being a stupid," Brian was interrupted by yet another yawn.

"Dammit, I need another coffee. And now I'm... now I'm..." Brian's head hit the table and papers fluttered everywhere, disrupting the finished pile. A slight snoring arose from Goodwill as a bright light grew from the middle of the desk. Unbeknownst to him, the light enveloped him and was gone, leaving nothing but a pile of overdue papers on a lonely, empty desk.

---
Brian snuggled into the warm sand as he tried to turn himself away from the glaring sun beating down relentlessly. He slowly began to rise, drowsily brushing off some stray sand that happened to cling to his now ruined hair. Looking around, Brian admired the place and revelled in the complacency that came with the area. Then it hit him.

A mind is a funny and complicated thing. Face with an impossible set of circumstances, it will shut down as it tries to figure out some way that it could be made possible, so that it doesn’t have to revert to it’s last mechanism: insanity.

Brian’s mind did just that. He stared at the sea while the mind shut down, rebooted, and started up again. The feeling of complacency came again when he realized the obvious.

“Ah, I’m dreaming. How nice. It’s good to get a vacation occasionally. I suppose this must be what those scientists call… what’s it again? Oh yes, lucid dreaming. That means I should be able to manipulate this world to my own desires, shouldn’t it? Ah, this should be fun!”

Taking a running start, Brian leaped through the air, concentrating his entire mind on flying. Sand flew up when the dream failed to realize that Brian was it’s master. He picked himself up and dusted sand off again.

“Well,” he muttered, rubbing his arm, “I suppose I can’t control it. I might as well wander around and see what I can find. Maybe there is a resort around here. This is my dream, I sure as hell wouldn’t have just left me out in the middle of nowhere with no luxuries.”

After a brief walk, another person disturbed his walk and yelled at him, startling Brian. With no sign that Brian was going to come over, the mysterious person ran over and met up with Goodwill.

“Well, hello there friend! How are you this fine… well, I suppose its afternoon, isn’t it? Lovely day, I must say,” Brian greeted the new man.

“Oh, erm, I suppose,” the mysterious man was taken aback by Brian’s cheery attitude, “Well, I’m Anthony. Anthony Kainz, but you can just call me Tony if you want.”

“Ah, I’m Brian Goodwill. Well, have you happened to see a resort back in that direction? I’m looking for a nice place to relax.”

“Oh, um, I haven’t seen anything back in that direction…” Tony began to eye Brian suspiciously.

“Well, I suppose we can head back the way we came. I’ve only walked for a while, but I hope I find that resort soon. I’m getting thirsty.”

I will be posting shortly, but I want to make this one thing completely clear:

Your character has nothing on them. No cell phone, no hats, no guns, no car keys, no lighters, nothing. They are wearing their clothes, and that's it. Nothing else. No exceptions. If you had something in your pockets, it's gone. The one exception is any jewelry.

If you've already posted your character with something... I'll let it go. If anyone else posts their character with anything, I'll be editing it out (or deleting your post, whichever seems easier). I hope I don't sound too oppressive now. :D

Other than that, keep up the fine posts. Good job, everyone.

Christina Robyn Tario / Cya
1 (self)
Rebirth to Myniaya
~~~~~
It had been a long day, and Cya was tired as hell. Crawling into her bed, the day's events passed by, as her bitterness and hatred for people grew, she just could'nt stand it any longer. Finally, her mother knocked on the door, saying, "Chrissy? Sweetie, are you allr-"
"HELL NO I'm not alright!"
"Honey look, I...understand, that you are going through some rough times right now-"
"Go away damnit! I hate you!"
"Chris now stop it right now!"
"I can't beleive you actually beleived them!"
"Chris, please, it's just, in these times, this day, I...I'm just scared is all, I did'nt-"
Suddenly, a large THUMP, is heard as a medium blunt object slams into the door. Cya's mother shrieks slightly, as her face then turns to one of a terrible dissappointment and sadness, she retires to the dining room, where her husband, Christina's father, waits, reading the paper. The paper calling all about how the canidate from their town was disqualified from the olympic try-outs for illegal drug testing positive. The paper was dated nearly two days ago, it had'nt even been two weeks since the call, the most devestating in Christina's life.
Her troubles were far from over as her brother soon came knocking on her door, "Hey Chris, phone for you."
"Who is it?"
"It's your freinds."
Cya then picked up the phone, to which a response came, "Hello, is this Christina Tario from the-*CLICK*"
"Another f*cking reporter..." She muttered to herself, as she heard her brother's laughter outside the door. Suddenly, the sound of another blunt object against the door jolted her brother from the laughing spree. He then opened up the door and said, "You'll have to do better than that, JUNKIE!! HA HA H-"
Suddenly a tennis-shoe nails him right in the jaw, it's trajectory from Christina's bed. Recoiling from the field of insultation battle, her brother runs off, swearing and throwing cheap 'druggie' insults at her. Cya then thinks to herself, "Damn, I've gotten pretty good at throwing random objects based on sound alone."
From downstairs, her mother and father speak to each other in concerned voices. "Dear," Begins her mother. "I'm worried."
"I know dear."
"No, I mean, about Christina."
"I know..."
"I, am I a horrible mother?"
"What?! Don't be rediculou-"
"I, I feel like it, sometimes...times like now....."
"You have nothing to be ashamed of."
"I hear all about it happening these days, but I never thought it could happen in our own home...until-"
"It's not your fault, she's a good kid."
"Honey, do you...do you honestly think she..."
"...No, no I don't beleive it for a minute, no matter what anyone else says."
"...I don't either....that is, I never used to, I never thought I would either, until...Oh god, I can't beleive I did'nt beleive her, she must think i'm the worst mother alive...."
The mother then crumbles with her head in her arms, crying.
Meanwhile, back in her room, Cya envelops herself in the covers of her bed, laying on her side, she clutches onto her pillow, as if holding onto a peice of floating object, keeping her afloat among a dark watery abyss. Feling the soft comfort of her blanket around her, she stays there in her sleevles, thin night-shirt and underwear, trying to blank out all of reality around her, trying to forget. "I...I hate them all. This whole world sucks, everyone's a selfish jerk. I.....I don't want to be here anymore... I want to go away. I want to be anywhere but here.....I hate the people here so much, I wanna leave and never come back..."
Eventually, her whole world is dark, seeing no light, not anything. Then....gradually, everything is blue. Opening her eyes, there is nothing but a black abyss, slowly illuminating itelf with a eeirly calming blue glow. Then suddenly, a voice. "Wake up."
"What? I don't wanna."
"Wake up please!"
"I'm fine, now get outta my room..."
"You are not in your room."
"Look, I don't know- wait, what?"
"Wake up Christina..."
"Wha...wh-who are you?"
"WAAAAAKE UUUUPP!"
"AHH!"
Cya then springs upward, sitting up on the side of her thigh, and her left hand supporting her up, she is wide open eyed staring out into a bright beach. She then uses her right hand to sheild her eyes, as she falls back to the ground. Hearing a voice saying something, she is unable to determine what it was, as she then looks up, realizing she was holding onto a small wooden log the way she was holding onto her pillow.
Trying to realize what had happened, she then realizes the voice came from someone near by, someone, standing right over her. Looking up, she sees someone standing over her. "W-w-who are you?"
[Tag PH]
OOC: BTW, all she is wearing is a somewhat thin girl's nightshirt (like a sleevless shirt, only made for sleeping in.) and underwear. Nothing else. No jewelry, no socks, no belt, no watch, nothing decent. (I WAS going to have her fall asleep in the shower, but then I thought that would set me too far back in terms of resouces, not a good way to start an adventure, eh?)
And could everyone put the name and nickname of their charicter they are playing as at the start of each in charicter post please? Thanks. Your location and those in your party at the time you start the post would also be helpful.
He looked towards Brian, who still seemed to be looking around; his voice showing no concern or worry in the world.
A harrowing chill shot like lightning past his spine igniting every nerve in his body as Jared awoke to the icy touch of the sea. He cringed back in retaliation but quickly fell before the anguish of aching muscles.
Unable to move he lay idly by his face pressed firmly against the warm sands by weights of exhaustion. With each breath taken he could feel the fine powdery grains being sucked into him, and then expulsed in the form of hoarse coughing which seemed to rock his tired frame down to the very bone.
Through blurred vision the random collage of swirling colors before him began to take shape. Soft blue skies whose depth seemed to be unreachable emerged from the heavens above. Foamy white crests lined the crowns of erupting waves crashing down against the warm sands redefining the ever-changing border between land and sea.
“ What the fuck.”-- Jared thought abruptly to himself.
The sudden realization had awoken him from his dazed state. Slowly raising his sand covered face Jared began to take in the full impact of the horizon, until a sharp stabbing pain interrupted his prolific vision. Reaching towards the back of his head Jared’s blood covered fingers confirmed his suspicions. Staring into the thick red liquid covering his hand he began to flash back to the night before
It was late, past midnight and all was dark except for the flickering lights of the street lamp near the end of the street. To his right one of the few patches of green among a forest of poured stone. Usually a recreational area for old and young alike but under the veil of night it seemed different almost menacing in a way, as if unseen dangers waited from within. To his left towering prisons of concrete and glass rose high above the ground, riddled with thousands of sleeping ants each one with it’s own agenda. In the morning they would crowd the streets going here and there always on the move, but for now they hid within the confines of their self made shells unaffected by the world around them.
Jared was just returning from Spanish Harlem after seeing an angered and rather violent Vanessa; he could still hear her erratic words as she ushered him out the door. “Oye hijo de la gran puta, quien te cres tu viniendo aqui despues de lo que hiciste.”-- She screamed at him in her high pitched voice just before, a large glass vase shattered into pieces against the wall behind him barely missing his head. It was surprising that a young woman with such a light frame could throw so damn hard. Usually in situations like this Jared would have stayed and attempted to talk things through but knowing Vanessa he was safer just letting her cool off her own.
As he approached street‘s edge the sudden stench of stale ale filled the air, his nostrils flared at the disturbing smell. Three shady figures appeared from just beyond the reach of the flickering streetlights. They seemed to stumble slightly with every step and Jared could tell by that their raggedy clothing they probably lived in a dumpster somewhere. Still he was outnumbered and even bums packed gatz every now and then. Instinctively he began to edge slowly towards the low lying park fence with his arms extended out defensively.
“I don’t want any problems.” -- He exclaimed in a calm voice making sure not to incite any aggression.
Jared could feel his pulse pumping hard as the three began to encircle him blocking off paths of escape, but he continued to edge his way towards the park always keeping his back turned away from them. Cold fingers of fear reached deep into his chest griping his heart upon seeing one of the three remove a blade from his pocket. He knew these bastards were too drunk to care about what they did and with nothing to protect himself Jared had a fat chance of making it out of this one alive if he had to fight them.
Finally a sign of relieve as Jared sensed the metal bars behind him, now all he had to do was jump the fence and make a run for it. Once in the park he could lose them easy, especially in their drunken state.
“Okay”-- Jared though to himself-- “On the count of three I’ll make my move.”
“One.”
Muscles tightened in anticipation, as adrenaline pumped through his system energizing every nerve ending
“Two.”
He was breathing faster now, the hairs on the back of his neck raised as the moment of truth drew closer.
“Thr...”
The sickening crack of an empty bottle against his skull halted Jared in his tracks. He stood frozen for a moment as the tiny shards of shattered glass rained down upon the sidewalk; their surface bristling with reflected light. Finally his body gave way and he plummeted towards the ground his arms too limp to stop himself. A dark haze overtook his eyes.
And now he lay here in this strange unknown world too weak to even move...
(OOC: Little help, anyone. Preferbly a doctor, Eh Enderwiggen.)
PS: By the way Jared has nothing but his black with purple striped boxers on now. Just incase anyone didn't catch it, the bums robbed him.
"I'm fine, now get outta my room..."
"Uh, girl? You aint in your romm no more."
"Look, I don't know- wait, what?"
"Wake up."
"Wha...wh-who are you?"
"WAAAAAKE UUUUPP!"
"AHH!"
The girl sprang upward, sitting up on the side of her thigh, and her left hand supporting her up, her eyes are wide open, staring out into a bright beach. She then used her right hand to sheild her eyes, as she fell back to the ground.
"Hey are you okay?"
Looking up, the girl saw Alex and Chris standing over her "W-w-who are you?"
"Chris Pike." Chris said pointing at himself, then he pointed at Alex, "This is Alex Mion. We are just your resident confused, worried, scared stupid, people. Call me Kirk or Pike if you prefer that to Chris. Call him, Faxi or Alexion if you do not want to call him Alex. Who are you?"
"Christina Robyn Tario. Call me Cya. Where the heck am I?"
"Sure. Why not."
Name: Sandeep John Samson Nickname: Deep
This place…It is not a dream, Sandeep pondered, now sitting back down in the sand.
Although he had been walking for some time now, it felt like he had gone nowhere. It all looked the same. The time all merged together, making it impossible to tell how long he had been walking and how far he had gone.
New Jersey had some distinct beaches than most areas, but this was like none he had ever come across. Yes, the water was a dazzling blue green and the scenery was stunningly sublime, but that wasn’t why the beach felt so ethereal. It was the pure isolation. It long lonely stretch of sand next to the ocean, and the misunderstanding of it all that filled him with a bleak sense of dejection.
Perhaps he had expired in his sleep. But it was too lonely to be heaven and, although he knew of no reason he’d be in such a place, was too peaceful to be hell. Maybe he was in purgatory, but there was no reason why he had died in his sleep. He had been fine the night before. Anyway, he doubted crossing to the other side would be like walking on a beach.
His mind filled with questions with no answers. In a sudden concede of hope and weariness, he closed his eyes and collapsed onto the graininess under him. He began slipping into a slumber before waking himself up.
What am I doing? He thought to himself. Come on, Deep, you can walk plenty further. Sleeping wont help now, you have to find your way back home. His mind was willing, but his drained body wouldn’t respond.
As he lay, Sandeep was beginning to think walking was meaningless. He was beginning to think attempting to leave was meaningless. He had no idea where he was or why but it was obvious he was nowhere in New Jersey, possibly not even in the same world. It felt like nothing he‘d do could bring him any closer to home. For the first time in his life, Sandeep felt entirely hopeless.
(There, I edited that height and weight and stuff out.)
They ran towards him, upon closer examination they noticed that the back of his head was covered in blood and he seemed to be badly hurt. "Hey! Are you alright?" Hank asked getting pretty close. After a while of walking, he realized he was chasing phantoms. There was no figure.
"Damn mind playing tricks on me, I wonder how hard I hit my head.." he said in a low whisper.
Suddenly, a cry rang out from his left.
"Hey, you all right!?" yelled a small, heavyset man that looked to be in his early-mid thrities, "damn, you look bad, what happened?"
Looking towards him, he noticed a scantily clad man behind him, whose underwear bore the Union Jack.
"Heh, nice undies.." he said, sending a spike of pain through his head, "I woke up with my head laying on a good sized rock, and my head like this. If someones pulling a prank, I swear to god that i'm gonna rip out their teeth with a pair of needle nose pliers.."
The man with the underpants grinned, and offered his hand, "I'm Tobias, and this is Hank."
"Jakob." he said, wincing form the pain behind his eyes.
"Well Jakob, let's get going, there has to be civilization around here somewhere.." the man named Hank said, almost commanding them.
With the help of Tobias, who was conveniently his height, he managed to limp along with his new travelling companions.
"As long as we're gonna be together for awhile, call me Travellin' Jack.." he said with a half-grin on his face.
The others looked at him, and nodded. Apparently, they weren't in a talking mood either.
A few minutes later, they were alerted to the sound of swift footsteps, approaching them from the rear. Turnign around, they saw another rag-tag group of people approaching them.
"Well, let's see just how deep the rabbit hole goes..." he said, putting on the best smile he could.
Driver's ed had a parent meeting I forgot about. Had to stay in the car. Sigh. :-\
Scott snapped awake. His first thought was to the effect of "I hate practical jokes." He looked around a bit and noticed the sun was shining right down on him. He quickly decided he did not like wherever he was for three reasons: It was hot, there was sun shining in his face, and it was hot. He decided to add another reason after considering for a few minutes. It was WAY too hot. He saw young kid sitting down a little down the beach. He began to walk and wondered where he was..he couldn't think of any beach like this nearby, but then again, he didn't get out much. Knowing his friends worried him in that aspect though. He was quite possibly a 5 hour drive from anywhere he knew. Sigh.
As he walked closer he called out to the kid. "Heyo! Don't you have school kid?" After recieving no responce, he came up closer and tapped the kid on the shoulder. "Hey there. I think my friends pulled a joke on me, where be we?"
Having accidentally dozed off, Sandeep’s eyes opened abruptly at the sound of voices. He figured he was hearing things until he began to hear hurried footsteps not too far off. He pushed himself from the ground. Now sitting up, he saw three blurred figures only a rock throw away. He then rubbed his eyes and blinked, looking at the figures again. There were two young men, one seemingly in his late twenties or early thirties, and the other being somewhere in his definite twenties, some years younger than the first. With them was a girl looking to be close, if not equal, to his own age. The two men were wearing normal clothes while the girl had on only a shirt and underwear. Perhaps she had also arrived while in bed.
A sweet feeling of relief came over him. There were people just some feet ahead and he wasn’t alone. He watched as a second group of three joined them, looking as if they had also been yanked from their beds to this strange place.
Sandeep stood to his feet and waved with an outstretched arm to the unknown others.
A sudden feeling of something tapping his shoulder drew his attention away from the crowed to yet another person.
"Hey there," the man said. "I think my friends pulled a prank on me. where be we?"
Sandeep scratched the back of his head, looking around. "I...dont know. Last thing I remember is sleeping and I woke up here," he answered the man. "Is that how you got here?"
ooc: FIRST POST SINCE MY RETURN! God, I'm going to seem rusty. Don't rip me too deep, haha!
IC:
A noise penetrated her sleeping brain, and Faye rolled onto her side, reaching for her alarm clock.
I’m going to destroy that thing! It isn’t supposed to go off on today!
Her hand smashed down where the clock should be and hit only soft sand.
Sand? What the hell? Where’s my pillow? Where’s my blankets? Where’s my bed?!
Faye opened her eyes and sat up. She looked around at the beach she lay upon, and the ocean before her. It was beautiful indeed, with the soft white sand and bright blue water, a sign of unspoiled tropical waters. She looked behind her at the jungle vegetation and then at the bright sun and cloudless blue sky overhead, with a lone gull flying high above her, again making the call that woke her.
More important, where am I?
The young doctor stood and took stock of her position.
I’m alone on a strange beach. I don’t know where I am, with no water, food, or communication abilities to speak of. For clothing I only have my sports bra and workout shorts-less than modest-and no supplies to speak off.
Faye squinted against the too-bright sunlight and looked at the beach, then at the ocean, and then at the jungle. She started walking up the beach alone.
Fucking great.
“Well, I suppose we can head back the way we came. I’ve only walked for a while, but I hope I find that resort soon. I’m getting thirsty.”
Anthony let out a long, slow breath. "Uhh, Brian. Do you have any idea where we are?'
He looked towards Brian, who still seemed to be looking around; his voice showing no concern or worry in the world.
<tag WK>
Brian continued to look around at the flowing trees and crashing waves as he talked to Anthony.
"Where we are? Oh, I don't know, I suppose it doesn't really matter. As long as I'm out of that office, you know what I'm talking about? Of course, I'll eventually have to wake up, but I might as well enjoy this while I can. Nothing like a warm breeze on the face, eh? I can't believe how real this seems. Actually, you know what, this suit is annoying me. I think it should go."
Brian stripped off his suit down to the dress shirt and pants, throwing away his shoes, tie, overcoat and the like to the side. He then began to head off in the direction he came, with Anthony catching up to his side.
Walking along the beach
While walking along the beach, Cya could'nt help look around, trying to discern what was going on.
"So, I'm really here, are'nt I?" Cya said.
"I guess so." Kirk responded.
"Were you dreaming too?"
"I guess I must be, although, if I am, than you are'nt real."
"Hell, I Know I'm real. I don't know about you though."
"This could go on forever..." Alex spoke up.
Cya then lost herself in her thought, trying to gather what was happening. "Ok, I'm woke up in the same position I was sleeping in, on a beach, in nothing but what I was wearing last night. Why?" Suddenly, it dawned on her. "Oh....oh god...." She thought to herself.
Suddenly, she began to think about her family, and how she might never see them again. "Hmph, not so big a loss anyways I guess...At least now I don't have to worry about reporters and sh*t......and now I can start worrying about how the h*ll I got here, and how I'm going to survive with nothing but my fricken pannies! I mean wtf?! This just, I mean I know I wished for this, but...how...."
Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted, when Kirk spotted some form of human life and began waving to them. Cya looked up, saying, "Great, more lost lamers, probably without a clue too. Just what the hell is going on, what is the connection between all of us? Something about our sleep, and that....blue aura in the abyss....."
Aaron Leonard
On the beach
Afternoon
*****
Aaron had been wandering along the beach for a long while. He wanted to find somebody, anybody. The silence was closing in on him; it was maddening. He was used to hearing so much in the city. Now, he heard nothing but the occasional cry of a gull. Even the ocean, which back home (he had decided that this must be far far away from his home) had been noisy, was quite. The waves were so small as to not make noise.
The burning sand was no longer a bother to him. His feet were sore, but he didn't care; as long as he found somebody. He stumbled along, every so often tripping on a rock. His muscles were killing him now. He thought he'd been sore when he'd woken up.
He tripped on another rock, almost immediately picking himself up out of a forming habit. He sat down now, and thought for a while. He looked at his skin, and wondered. He'd been out in the sun for hours, yet he hadn't been sunburned at all. The ussual ocean smell wasn't here, but instead something different. Even the sand felt somehow different. This place was definately strange.
As he surveyed his surrounding's, he spotted two blurs in the distance. He stood up and walked towards them. He was soon able to tell that they were moving. He began to run towards them, yelling.
"Hey! Over here!"
Sandeep brushed his hand through his hair, somewhat aggravated at his own shier ignorance.
None of this makes sense,he thought, still looking at the man. Why was he, along with seven others all of a sudden on a huge beach? He noticed things were beginning to make less sense than before he met up with someone, but at least he knew he wasn’t alone.
He returned his glance to the stranger. He was now looking past him at the group of others Sandeep had been watching some seconds beforehand. Evidently the man was surprised to see others inhabiting the beach as well.
Sandeep waved to the group. Getting no response he lowered his arm. He then frowned and looked back to the man.
“I’m going to say ‘hi’ to those others over there. Maybe they know something. You should come” He then began walking to the assembly of people, all of them were older than himself, with exception to the one half dressed girl, but he didnt care. Any company would be good now, older or younger. “Hey,” he greeted the six as he made his way to them “My name is Sandeep, Deep for short. If you don’t mind, could you possibly tell me where I am?”
Sandeep looked from Cya to the three others men, then to the young woman lying down. Seems as though many people were brought here. That was obvious, the question left unanswered was why have they been summoned to this place and where exactly was this place? Those were questions that had been scrolling through his mind since he arrived, but simply asking himself over and over again would not help him to an explanation. Now that he had finally found company and regrouped himself, he was ready to find his home again. He was ready to go out and find answers. He may be far from what he was used to, but that was alright.
The thought of something from history class came back to him, something the British poet, Lord Byron had once said.
He repeated the words of wisdom over in his mind: “A little tumult, now and then, is an agreeable quickener of sensation; such as a revolution, a battle, or an adventure of any lively description.”
“I think it’s time we find some answers,” he said, looking back from the young woman to Cya, a determined look was about him.
(Alright I'll see ya later ZC. Im done with posting today too. Im goin to sleep. I'll pick up on it tomarrow probably.)
Oops, missed that Sandeep responded to me.
Scott stood in the background after his responce to the kid's question was swept away by the rush of people. He ignored names for now, concentrated on faces and personalities. He began cooking up senarios for what had happened to them, but soon the heat bothered him again. He mutted a few obsenities under his breath. He had already come to the conclusion they were all going to die, but at least it should be interesting. He heard talk of blue auras, and placed it in interesting/significant but with doubt. At least he was wearing his normal clothes -- most others seemed to be in their nightshirts -- most apparently that young girl in nothing more than a flimsy nightshirt.
He began noting other things -- how different people acted. As he watched reactions, it was obvious some thought they were dreaming. No one was outwardly panicing, which scared Scott shitless. He could deal with panic like what he was doing now, and it would go away -- he was level headed. But that girl with the nightshit seemed to be frightened out of her wits and not willing to admit it, as did one of the cool operators in the new group.
He considered again the heat and sun, and muttered loudly about the sun's percieved parentage and sexual persuasion, neither of which the sun had and he knew it. But that didn't stop him from looking for shade as soon as possible. He searched his back pocket for his PDA to keep track of these things until he realized everyone else had mentioned the lack of anything but that clothes on their back, except for one or two. At least death will come quickly, he mused.
With the others.
****************
Alex was leaning next to the newcomer.
He turned to Cya and said:
" Well by the looks of it she'll be fine. She's a little confused and dazzled, but she'll get pat that in an hour, or two... By the way put this on. " he said as he gave her his jacket and shirt. " The shirt is on the upper part, jacket on the lower. "
" But you'll be only with your pants. " she said, but now looking at him she realized that wasn't such a bad thing to see on such a world.
" I'll survive, beter being in my pants than in my boxers. " he said smiling.
First of all, I want to let everyone know how impressed I am with the quality of posts and how well you are doing. With the RP'ers that we have - and everything that we've done in one day has surpassed my expectations and my hopes. Simply put, everyone who has posted and joined this RP has done a hell of a job, and I want to thank you for putting your effort into this. You guys rock. All of you! This is turning out to be a great RP already, and hopefully it'll continue. Make sure to PM me with any suggestions or anything, or discuss anything related to the RP in this thread.
Regarding the confusion, I've made something that's a bit helpful to keep track of the conversation. From this point on, the following information is required at the beginning of each post:
Character Name
Location
Action / Other pertinent information
---
For example this would be a valid beginning for our current situation:
Tony Kainz
Beach
Talking with Brian Goodwill
---
Failure to do this will result in public humiliation. :D
***
Now, I think we've all introduced our characters. If you haven't, you'll still have the chance to do it. There is nothing more we can really do on the beach, therefore I will be continuing the story.
***
Here's a map of the current location. The shore visible is approximately 5 miles long. Tony starts at the dark blue dot, and some other guy starts in the red dot. They all meet in the middle, and are currently sitting next to the Red X. They move in the direction of the arrow. The water is carribean like. Crystal clear, and light bluish green. Sand is whitish as well, but patches of regular sandy color. The forest is unnaturally thick and purely tropical. No insects or anything swamplike though.
Retrospective: I stood there, utterly confused and hopeless as I talked with Brian Goodwill for the first time. From the moment I saw him, I didn't think much of him... but that's one of the many things I was wrong about in this entire journey of ours.
We talked and introduced ourselves to each other. I had to convince him that he was not dreaming. I was frustrated at the time, but now that I think back to it, I find it amusing. We were so unprepared, so unaware of what was going to happen to us... we didn't know what we were to do, and what we were to become... after all, how could we have?
After we talked, me and Brian continued our walk. In the next twenty minutes, I met with the others. The others that I would be living with; the others that I would be relying on and trusting my life with. The others that became my family.
We were all stranded; all of us were lost. The twenty of had found one another, all of us dazed and confused. We had all experienced the same thing - going to sleep and waking up here. Hours had passed by, and we shared what little resources we had. Coincidentally, we had all walked towards the same direction - me and Brian from the southeast, while the others came a few miles from the northwest.
I had walked for several miles, and the others had walked for several miles as well... we kept thinking about others who may have been stranded like us who hadn't been fortunate to walk in the same direction. That day, I kept thinking about them wondering how they would be faring - but now that I think back about it, there was no one else. It was us twenty; we were destined to do what we did.
And I still dont know whether it was fate, luck, or just my natural ability... but I became their leader. I was the one that they listened to and followed. Perhaps it wasn't luck after all, perhaps it was simply written in our destiny...
Third Person:
Tony sat in a large black rock in the sand, his barefeet burrowing themselves into the sand. The sun beat down on him, as he stared at the group of people who he had just met. All of them were talking with one another. Some of them were arguing with one another on what to do, while some of them were simply confused, and sat idly. Tony sat away from the rest; contemplating what to do.
"We should split up," one of the females said. Tony didn't remember her name; he had been introduced to too many new people. "We can cover more ground, and find where we are at,"
"We don't even know where we are. That's the last thing we want to do," A man, who's name Tony had also forgotten stated dryly.
"We can't sit here all day," Another man interjected.
Tony continued to listen to them bicker with one another; none of them knowing what to do. He listened to all of them; letting them vent their frustration and anger. Tony was bewildered by the entire situation as well; but he kept his calm. He knew that they needed to work together if they were to survive.
Tony slowly stood up, and prepared himself for what he was about to say. He stepped onto the rock, and looked at everyone. A few people noticed him, and looked at him.
"Everyone!" Tony said loud enough so that they could all hear him. They all turned and looked at him. It was the first time that Tony was talking to everyone, and addressing them.
"We can all agree that we need to work together, to get ourselves out of this situation, right?"
He listened to them as they replied affirmatively.
"We can't sit here, waiting for something to happen. We need to organize ourselves, and take action... right?"
Murmurs of agreement and approval filled the group of twenty.
"Does anyone have any suggestions on where we should go -- or what we should do?" Tony asked, listening to the group. From his years of business management and team-leading, he knew that input from his employees was vital to establishing a strong bond... and he found himself using the same technique.
"We can stay by the beach until someone finds us," One of the men suggested.
"I would think the same thing," Tony said, "however, I haven't seen a single shred of life. No signs, no trash, nothing. No signs of ANY life," Tony said, stressing any.
"Did anyone see anything?' he asked, maintaining his eye-contact with everyone, constantly looking at everyone to see if they had anything to say or add.
All of them shook their heads, and replied negatively.
"I have a suggestion - and after thinking about it for a while, I personally think it's the best decision. I think we should move into the forest. The forest is here, because there has to be some natural water source. Perhaps a river, pond, lake or something of that nature. If we move into this forest... we can at least get some shade, and perhaps find some water. Maybe some edible fruit or something. What do you all think?"
They all nodded in agreement, stating their approval of the idea.
"Alright then, so it's settled. Let's get moving. We need to stay focused; and hopefully we can get this all figured out,"
Tony jumped off the rock, and found himself waiting for someone to walk into the forest... and then he noticed that they were all waiting for him. Raising an eyebrow, Tony turned around and headed for the tropical forest. Palm trees and other various tropical plants filled the unnaturally dense forest. Tony separated the thick underbrush and made his way into it followed by the group of his followers.
Tony set a slow pace, taking his time. They had limited water and they needed to conserve as much energy as possible. They had already lost a lot of water from sweating; and they couldn't risk losing anymore. As Tony walked through the tropical forest, he saw something which made his heart jump.
A trail.
"Guys!" Tony yelled, his voice showing excitement. "There's a trail up here."
He walked onto the narrow trail. One direction, led towards the the edge of the forest and back to the beach. The trail was so small at the entrance to the forest, it wasn't a big surprise that they had missed it while walking passed it.
He had no idea where the other direction of the trial would lead to.
"That way leads to the beach again," Tony said aloud, pointing towards the beach. "This way... should hopefully lead to some answers."
Continue walking on the trail. You are in a dense tropical forest. Think palm trees. If you want, find some fruit trees. Coconut, Pineapple, Banana, etc. and have a break. RP your character climbing trees and stuff while we continue this.
No one will find any signs of life yet. No animals besides birds, and definitely no humans. This includes any signs of humans, such as signs on the trail, or anything.
Make sure to RP what your character thinks of Tony, and how he took charge. Are you opposed, or are you following freely? Remember, Tony is a natural leader. Generally, people tend to trust them and he is the nicest guy you'll find. Feel free to strike up a conversation, etc.
Post your character thoughts and emotions as well. If you were injured earlier, describe how you're feeling and how your character is holding up throughout all of this.
And man, that's a long tag...>
Beach --> Trail.
Contemplating - Thinking.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He had met with the others, but he could only remember a few names. The times when he was conscious were agony, his head aching dully. When he came to, a man was standing on a rock. The conversation that ensued was of no real consequence, so he rested his eyes.

The man was a natural leader, he could say that much. He took charge and made his authority be known in a way that wouldn't upset any of them.

Good, i'm glad someone sane is in charge.

As they walked, a small trail was discovered. He liked it, the trees provided cover for him, and the shade felt good against his bare skin. There was a general murmer of chatter, but nothing too loud. As he looked around, he noticed something up in the trees.

"Bannanas!" he screamed, snapping out of his reverie. He liked bannanas, and he was hungry. The group stopped, and watched him climb a tree. As he scurryed up, he plucked the ripening bannanas from their purchase, and tossed them down to the people below. Overall, they had found enough for everyone to have 2, which only excited their hunger.

"Anyone have a high powered rifle? Those birds are looking mighty tasty right now..."

Alex smiled as he ate the banana.
He looked at the man and when he came down he said:

" Thanks, mate. You're a very good climber, eh?"

" Yeah, used to do it a lot as a kid. I'm Jakob Faust, by the way. "

" I'm Alex, Alex Mion. Well my real name is Alexander Faxginami Mion, but that's too long to remember. "

" Agreeable. " said Jakob as he nodded and laughed.

Suddenly Alex bended over and took two small rocks from the ground.

" Do you think they're sharp enough? " he asked showing them to Jakob.

" Why, they look sharp, what do you need htem for? " asked Jakob curiously.

" Well I have an idea. Hey Tony! " yelled out Alex.

In a few seconds a man came to his side.

" Yes, what can I help you with Mr... " siad Tony trying to remember the man's name.

" Alex, Alex Mion. I've got an idea. I found these 2 rocks, they ain't very sharp, but the'll do. What do you think of leaving signs on the trees. That way if we get lost or walk in a circle we'll know it. Plus there might be others, that are catching up to us, we left a lto of footprints on the beach. "

" Hm, nto a bad idea. At least it'll keep you productive. What are we going to use as signs? "

" Arrows are too simple. I used to know morse code, I can leave small messages, like a directory. " said Alex.

" Not a bad idea. Well you keep yourself occupied with that. Draw a few, we'll be leaving in a few minutes. " said Tony as he hid a smile on his face.

OOC: If you don't like this B.I I'll edit it out ;) but it's a rational idea. The rocks are antural, no man or whatever made them sharp.

It seemed that a lot of people were suffiring from the same problems, not a single local person. They were all from different places, and no-one had an idea what was going on.
leader.

It was not all bad news however, some guy called Tony Kainz had assumed leadership of the group and they were currently heading inland. He seemed a competent enough

They had not gone far when Jacob Faust, the man he and Hank had found on the beach called out

"Bananas" before proceeding to climb a tree and throw down a large supply of the fruit. Two each, not bad. Well, at least they were not going to starve. But this looked like a tropical island, and from the smell of the clear air not one heavily populated. And you heard stories about islands like that.

He wandered of the trail a bit and picked up a sturdy looking three foot long branch that had fallen from the trees above. Right. That said rather too much about him than he wanted to know.

After a bit he noticed Jacob was talking to Alex Mion, who was holding some sharp rocks.

"Arrows are too simple. I used to know morse code, I can leave small messages, like a directory." was the first bit of the conversation he heard,
