aye! don't be a moron. yes there are bots that can do this but there is no proof that anyone one used one and no one can tell if no one used it for starcraft either so whatever. people are blaming D2 fans in general and that is wrong. if anyone did use a bot it was just a few people not a whole group.

Something was amiss with the voting, it went from a close race *between 500 votes* to a blow out 3,000 votes allmost instantly in favour of D2.

DIABLO 2 sucks... FAllout is So much better that they shouldn't be in the same league..its really to bad that it isn't coming a new fallout... it was great fun..

and starcraft is one of the best games ever made and its a STRATEGY GAME: its isn't anything like diablo. even elastomania is better then diablo...

and warcraft 3 is also a strategy game. and I can't compare it to diablo. because they are to different..

I am looking quite forward to WoW .. I hate the idea that I didn't get the beta..

Actually my "experience" with TA was just a quick play at a friends... I think. Or it might have been a relatives (Whatever)

Diablo II sold millions just like War3 and Starcraft so it doesnt suck. Its your opinion, the facts are that D2, Sc, and Warcraft are all great and succesful games made by Blizzard. And whatever you may think WoW and SC:G are going to be hits as well.

Of course that possible but there is no proof and the only ones that could is gamespy. here is a post from SCL yes there is logic. my brother and his friend also had a bot for bw, and stopped using it after they thought that they won. then d2 came back w/their bot.

So what’s good for the goose is good for the gander ^^

Bah, stop it. You and I both know DIablo II people cheated on the poll with an AutoIt script, and I am not sure, but I assume its possible with Starcraft fans as well.

I know nothing, no one has proofed it so how can I know? As I said the only ones that can is gamespy and they say there was no cheating so take that for what’s it worth. I saw you emailed Fargo, but he is away at GDC so I am happy to answer since I was the one who did the investigation. I hope you will understand why I am NOT posting this in a public forum.

We checked into it. The good news is we found out the script does not work. It attempts to vote multiple times, but since we track IP and GameSpy ID, the script does not allow it to change IP addresses. So any time the page refreshed and the vote went up, it was probably another voter registering their vote. The script kept running off the same IP and therefore was only counted once. This explains why the guy said that it doesn't work a few times, because the vote would appear to be tallied only when other people's votes were being recorded.

We are not going to publicize this fact since we do not want them to try to allow dynamic IP voting. But I am going to respond to each email I get and point this out. All the script did is drive up our page views.

The bad news for StarCraft fans is that it looks like Diablo 2 won legitimately. http://www.DiabloII.net and http://diablo2.ingame.de/, two of the largest fan sites, posted news of the voting on their sites last night. Our stats showed that more than 13,000 people came in from those two sites alone. So the win appears to be legitimate.

something new seems to be stirring with the tournament. D2 is under investigation right now with the voting, and out of the blue, how does Halo beat Half Life with 30,000 votes to 10,000? Something is very wrong/weird right now. Quite a sad thing.

Ya look like someone or group decided to send a message, its pretty sad. I still think D2 beat Starcraft fairly. But the whole Diablo vs. Zelda thing got pretty suspicious. And I know they are boting Half-Life vs. Halo. Halo got 12k votes in an hour lol



Edit: well looks like they redoing Diablo 2 vs. Zelda and they also restarted Halo vs. Half-Life, which is a very good thing. Now though you have to log in.

It would have given more challenge then D2 would have. But both of these games are the most 1337 of there kind, so it would have been a good fight.

hard to say, the most Stacraft ever got was 9k votes and those bots where being used most likely. who ever was doing it i'm sure was doing for all kinds of games, half-life lost 4k votes over the last mtach and D2 lost about the same. the whole thing is lame anyway, but i asure you if every one on B-net would go and freaking vote it would beat half-life, but alass that not going to happen.

The door goes 2 ways, what about those playing half life? Many playing CS would probably vote for HL, since HL's basically it's daddy.

I'm leaning HL wins.
But what a match between doom and mario III! Go mario!
