Nuts

For years we've heard the subtle denials from the George Lucas camp, "there will be no more sequels." But since my childhood, it was always a very common understanding that episodes IV,V and VI were the second in a set of three trilogies.
On one hand, we have Lucas who claims he never intended to make nine movies. (Why would anyone create such a rumor?)
On the other hand, we have two original trilogy actors whom have made mention of episodes 7-9 and subsequently been quieted. Peter Mayhew made a passing comment about a contract obligation (http://www.killermovies.com/s/starwarsepisodeiii/articles/3538.html), then he retracted the statement at a later date. Mark Hamill has made extensive comments going into great detail about further episodes (http://www.themovieblog.com/archives/2004/09/mark_hamill_spills_some_dirt_on_star_wars_episodes _7_8_and_9.html), but no mention of what Lucas thinks of his remarks.
Either way, I think fans ultimately love Episode III for the very fact that it ties strongly to their beloved original trilogy. Making further sequels will have the same effect, and I believe people will have a easier time accepting modifications to future story lines as opposed to screwing with the past. No more Jar Jar and certainly no more pathetic Annie. Lucas could do it in another 10 years and still finish the trilogy before he dies from a broken heart. :)
Anyway, if you have evidence to support either notion, please present it here. I would love to find an old Lucas quote referencing future sequels, as I'm almost certain that he's made reference to them in the past; however, he claims otherwise.
