As some of you may know, I'm heading off to university next year. I'm going to need a computer. I've decided that I'll get a Dell laptop (reasonably pimped out with a gig of ram, a kickin' graphics card, etc.); however, there's one question I have about my soon-to-be-made purchase.
My university has wireless access in all of the major buildings. However, this wireless access does not extend into the dorm rooms (they don't want people using wireless as their primary internet - they'd rather have a grounded connection). So obviously I'm going to need to connect my laptop to one of the cables in the room - this is where the problem comes in . . .
The computer I wish to buy has built-in wireless. However, there's nothing in the computer specs (or any of their laptops for that matter) about normal (I'll refer to it as normal for lack of a better word - what I mean here is non-wireless) networking. Would my laptop come with a normal network card as well? Would I need one to be able to connect to the cables in my dorm room? Should I just email Dell instead of bugging you guys?
Danke in advance ^_~.
