Well we all know of the three next gen consoles comming out within a year (hopefully) and I'd like to take the time to summarize each console (I watched each 1-2 hour press conference via gamespot.com)
If I have left anything out please post here and I'll update the list.

----------------------
Sony Playstation 3 - estimated price: 400-500 dollars (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/16/screenindex_6124681.html)
Uber l337 graphics like never seen before. (no really, these graphics seem like the best graphics for ANY video game in the world....more powerfull than TWO nvidia 6800's or whatever the latest was)
Up to 7 wireless controllers
Backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS1 games.
Connectivity with the PSP and other multimedia devices
Wireless connection to a WI-FI router for internet access
Access your videos, photos, and music from anywhere in the world via the “always on” connection to your PS3
Ability to play on TWO television sets -- much like the DS idea
Ability to use multiple forms of media ranging from CD-Rs and RWs to DVD+/- Rs and RWs and a few more types.
The PlayStation 3 has 6 USB 2.0 ports, a memory stick slot, an SD slot, and, in stark contrast to many of Sony’s other consumer electronics products, the system actually supports compact flash. Sony even saved a space for a removable 2.5” hard drive.
Blu-ray format, which allows for discs that can hold about 54GB each.
Nintendo Revolution - est. price: unknown (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/17/screenindex_6125078.html)
Only the size of three DVD cases stacked together
Wireless controllers that will supposedly revolutionize the way we control games. The design has not yet been unveiled
Built in wireless connection to any WI-FI router for internet access and a FREE online multiplayer service. (Smash bros fans: forget the lv9 cps! time to challenge level ?? humans!)
Backwards compatibility with any Gamecube games
A service that lets you download any N64, SNES, or NES ever created and play it on your Revolution system (see proof two posts down) (cost, if any, is not yet determined)
Connectivity with the Nintendo DS
Ability to play DVDs (finally) IF you buy a small ad-on attatchment
NINTENDO has not yet unveiled the graphics, or controller details for the Revolution system. They said they will reveal the controller AFTER sony and microsoft finalize their plans so that there is no chance that they will steal Nintendo's "revolutionary" controller.
Game Boy Micro
· Smaller than an ipod mini
· Brightest screen Nintendo has ever made
· Plays any GBA game
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
· By the end of 2005 Nintendo will have a FREE online service for the Nintendo DS which allows players from around the world to enjoy multiplayer games such as Mario Kart DS (8 players), Animal Crossing DS, Advance Wars DS, Metroid: Hunters, and many more all from any Wi-Fi hotspot or home network
Microsoft Xbox360 (screenshots not available) - est. price: 300 dollars
Halo 3 will be released with the Xbox 360
Wireless controllers
PSP to Xbox connectivity (what the?)
It has two memory card slots and a handful of USB ports that are rumored to accommodate a host of devices like the iPod, USB memory sticks, and even Sony’s own PSP. Don't forget that Bill Gates's new system can also reach across the network to access media from local, Windows-based PCs.
The Xbox 360 will support dual layer DVDs, which can hold about 9GB worth of data
The Xbox 360 comes with a built-in Ethernet adapter, but the 802.11 a/b/g wireless adapter will cost extra.
