First of, it's:

"En Taro Adun"

And Secondly, here is some information from blizzard.com:

Protoss -

Religious principles:

* Khala ("Path of Ascension")
* Dae'Uhl ("Great Stewardship")

Religious figures in Protoss society:

* Khas — A prominent figure in Protoss society, he was the charismatic and spiritual leader who brought an end to the Aeon of Strife by using ancient Xel'Naga artifacts, the Khaydarin Crystals, to unite the warring tribes by calling them into a communal telepathic matrix. The belief that this was necessary for the Protoss to survive became known as the Khala, and is followed by almost all Protoss factions.

* Adun — Another well known figure in Protoss culture, he is honored by Khalai and Dark Templar alike. A powerful warrior in his time, he was charged with the extermination of the Rogue Tribes by the Conclave. Unable to bring themselves to slaughter their kin, Adun and his troops attempted to hide the heretics. Though he failed, he would be known as a saviour to the Dark Templar, and would gain similar status on Aiur after the myth of the heretics spread, revealing that he "saved" Aiur from the heretics and their "anarchist" ways. The phrase "En Taro Adun" is used by the Protoss as a formal greeting or goodbye, and also serves as a battlecry.

* Tassadar — He gained a following after his heroic death in defeating the Zerg Overmind. He serves as a contemporary example of Protoss virtues, and some Templar (notably Artanis) have taken to saying "En Taro Tassadar".

Bah I spelt it wrong. Its just more formal for them then Hello.

Also, Tassadar thought he defeated the overmind, but he didnt. He is thought a hero now for his bravery and sacrificing himself for the greater good. Artanis is just a yung'un and looks up to his child-hood hero Tassadar.

First of all, Tassadar DID kill the Overmind, he blasted the sh*t outa that huge brain-like creature using his psionic powers in the Gantitahor.
Than, in BroodWar, the cerebrates were still loyal to the Overmind and they wanted to stop Kerrigan from taking control over the Zerg, so they merged together in hope to create a new overmind (that was also meant to be stronger than the first one).

I assume you know the rest... Kerrigan called Jimmy&Fenix, bang bang everyone are dead, Zeratul finds out about Duran's tests, Dugall suicides in the ship Alexander after writing his last words to his wife, Artanis gets ass kicked away etc etc.

He says it as an acknowledgement.

How about this: Switch "En Taro Adun" with "Good Day, Commander". Make sense now?

Heh, if you've played Warcraft, the knight says that. Kind of similar to EnTaro Adun.

ReD_ICE

how do we always get En Taro Adun on the topic...a mystery...

phil193
05-31-2005, 6:57 AM
because this is a protoss topic and not a mystery, that's all.

if your going to ask "how can you be a protoss jedi?"

there is the reason:i play jedi academy and starcraft all the time and when i play starcraft,
i play protoss that's all.

DragonPaladin

Right...and this relates to the topic of who plays Protoss how?

(and now to make sure my posts relates somewhat to this thread)

I know a pretty good Protoss player called Bluc-Giller. He's not bad either.

hmm... i was just wondering... what do people tend to go for first... Citadel for faster zealots and templar etc. or Robotics for shuttles and reavers etc.

MidnightGladius
06-03-2005, 5:10 AM
It depends on the map, who you're playing, what race your enemy is playing, etc.

ReD_ICE

im terran (clearly), and for me, i usually get reaver-dropped...hate that...especially with a good micro-er

phil193
06-09-2005, 7:12 AM
reavers are the best when in a group. if you play protoss, you will like them,if your not, then
they will just
piss you off!!!
danm those reaver! :mad2:

ReD_ICE
06-09-2005, 7:41 AM
uh...someone got too emotional here...no...groups of reavers are shit to groups tanks with turret protection. Also, if ur shuttle dies, u'll either have a slow shit-ass moving piece of metal, or u'll have none at all~ :)

MidnightGladius
06-09-2005, 6:36 PM
The only time I've ever used mass reavers effectively is on 9/6 PvZ Temple. Besides drops, obviously.

And also, Goon/Reaver is the only cost-effective counter to mass ultra.

ReD_ICE
06-16-2005, 7:49 AM
reavers need good micro, seriously, becuz they move like catepillars (they're certainly alike in structure), and without shuttles, ur screwed. If u compare a reaver to a tank, i think tank-turrets are cheaper, and stronger in large groups than reaver-shuttles. but that's just my opinion.

Archon/dt/zealot works pretty well.

both work fine i think...

Protoss are my second choice if any... I find them to be the most powerful though, especially when you are Terrans, and the Computers send in Zealots... It's kinda hard for Terrans to kill Zealots in the begining of the game.

I like building Arbiters and Carriers, and an Observer to protect from cloaked Wraiths. Carriers when upgrade fully are a huge threat, getting rid of them is hard. I hate the fact, though that the Reavers are so slow...I like the Anti Air Scouts have, their missels are great against enemy air units.

I also like the Protoss because I like Aldaris, Tassadar, and Fenix. But even though I'm better with the Protoss then any other race, I still prefer Terrans.

scouts are not worth the money...im serious...for 275 minerals...i could get at least 5 marines, not including the gas. plus, i've never really seen people use scouts in games...

DaMiNaToR

Aldaris was a bitch...But anyway, what you do with protoss is, get high temps, reavers, and arbiters. Make one archon, then make about 10 or so hallucinations of it, and send em all to your opponents front door. Make sure he sees them coming, so he fortifys the front of his base, then sneak an arbiter into his worker patch and warp in the reavers. You may also want some corsairs to handle defenses/air for protecting the reavers.

ReD_ICE
06-26-2005, 10:13 PM
u just complicated things...plus, its a waste of money and time to tech up to arbs. If u wanna harrass workers, just reaver-drop, or zealot drop in his scvs..

MidnightGladius
06-27-2005, 12:26 AM
Why in the world would you do any of that, Daminator?

Fronter
06-27-2005, 12:43 AM
Aldaris was a bitch...On the contrary, he was at the beginning, but in the end, he was smart enough to tell Ragezzel (Or however you spell it) was infested. As it his quote:
She lies! She is infested to the core, I for one will not hear of this!

ReD_ICE

i dont even know why we're talking about the story here in the starcraft TACTICAL chamber...hint hint...

i forgot to add from the last post, high temp on mineral line is effective too.

Fronter
06-29-2005, 2:14 AM
He said Aldaris was a Bi*** so I had to say my fifty-three cents. But High Templars are good, because they are cost effecient, and they are annoying with Psi Strom. But I like adding Protoss to my Campaigns, I'm not much for melee, but UMS, but protoss look cool.

MidnightGladius
06-29-2005, 3:52 AM
Yup, gotta agree with that!

Seriously though, if you go back to 1.07 (pool 150 min), ling/drone rushes killed all toss, and nobody played toss for a while...

Seriously though, if you go back to 1.07 (pool 150 min), ling/drone rushes killed all toss, and nobody played toss for a while...Really? Hmm... Were the Protoss units rather weak?

MidnightGladius
06-29-2005, 9:26 PM
No, it's just that with 150 pools, you can 4pool so fast it's not even funny. On a 2player land map, you won't lose, since toss's first zlot will only be halfway done, and you can pick off the pylon with hit and run.

ReD_ICE

the game gets more challenging and fair as the patches are improving...that's what i like...seeing new changes made in new patches...

especially the change from v1.11 --> v1.12....the rally pointing became much easier and map pinning made warnings between allies much easier...so that a player wouldn't have to spend time typing "SOS!! MY BASE IS INFECTED WITH LURKERS AND LINGS!! WOULD U CARE TO HELP?"

MidnightGladius
07-01-2005, 3:15 AM
Agreed. Though I really think players ought to take a few seconds to look at their minimap periodically.

ReD_ICE
07-01-2005, 4:15 AM
well...at least i do...once every 1-2 minutes (in mid-game)...at the start, u have to keep ur eye on the map cuz of scouting worker..

MidnightGladius
07-01-2005, 4:17 AM
No, I mean constantly keeping an eye on it (one eye, mind you). It can easily make a difference between life and death.
