Yeah. I cant figure it out. I use the normal editor to do my maps (staredit), and I cant figure out how to start some of these units Blind.
You can only make units with MORE than 80 hit points blind.
Put a medic with the blind ability researched and with full energy and is invincible in some distant part of the map.
When you want to blind a unit, (make sure it has more than 80 hit points,) move it to the location where the medic is, wait for two seconds, and move it back to where it was.

there are no triggers to spawn a blind unit or to make a unit blind, sorry.

Drat... You'd think blizzard would've added that to the the Unit Properties when they made Broodwar.;)

Yeah :(. What I did for a part of Rush to make vision small for players is to con a computer medic to blind a burrowed unallied computer player lurker at the start of the map, then have a location that follows the player's unit constantly and moves the burrowed lurker underneath it (the comp owning the lurker is allied to the player, and its lurker is set to be invincable). Then I disabled vision for the human player, and set it to the lurker comp player, and walla!
The 2 major drawbacks of this method are that you have to put up with seeing a lurker under your unit everywhere (vision with the player makes it visable), and that it can sometimes 'snag' on terrain, and stop following the player's unit around until the player moves clear of blocking terrain.
I'm trying to think of a better way to do this, though...

a ling would be better since it takes up less space (less blockage and general ugliness).
But yeah, that's how you do it.
Btw, there was interesting map out a while ago. Basically, you controlled a rine and the enemy controlled a rine, and both players got a medic. The medic was blind, and the medics can cast blind and restore. Rines are vincible(is that a word?), but you can kill the medic by moving your rine next to it. Medics respawn 20 seconds later. Basically, you have to constantly blind the enemy, restore your own rine, and try to kill their medic so that you could blind their rine and get free hits on it from higher ground. I think you each had 5 lives.
Unfortuneately, I lost it (along with many other cool maps) when my brother formatted the drive without telling me...

Medics don't blind lings, otherwise I'd have used them.

why does it have to have more than 80 HP now?

Ok, for the over 80 HP thing, is that because the medic targets units with high life? And will shields count (i.e zealot)

why does it have to have more than 80 HP now? It's how the AI works. Don't question how Blizzard made Starcraft.

Ok, so if I were to start a medic or two near some zealots (who are 60/80 shield/life) would they be blinded?

The best way I think to con medics into blinding is to have the unit actually attack the medic. But honestly, I haven't done much research on this, so that may or may not be necessary.

Well if they say so...
81 hp or higher... does that include when the unit properties are changed to 81 or higher in the editor?

Eh, I tought that when 1st reading this... but though it to be appliable the minute I change the units hp stats in the map editors. If you say it isn't a granted deal, than I'll have to wait n' see (or even test it myself).
