Magic, Dragons, Dungeons, Castles... Fantasy has always been a big part of my thing. I would say medieval, but if it didn't have magic, it wouldn't appeal to me. It's always going to be my favorite kind of RP.

Modern is the closest one that appeals to me. I like it to be in the ... not to distant future, maybe 10-20 years in advance.

But, I like to make my RP's cross-genre, either taking elements of future, fantasy, etc.

Modernistic is my thing. Like BI, I like if it can relate to events of the world currently.

Also just so you all know, I'm growing bored with the few RP's I am in right now. Expect a new one out of me by friday at the latest ;) I'm expecting activity for this one, and the past few I've done hasn't ever gotten started (I would go bring one out of the past pages, but I don't want to Necro :P)

I love Midival Fantasy for it's ancient element...magic, dragons, demons...

I love far off Future RPs where Earth is 90% mechanical due to overspanning cities (in other words, the world covered in city) mainly because it gives a lonely feeling...a strange feeling that's hard to express.

Never knew Final Fantasy was considered Steam Punk. I LOVE the Final Fantasy games, they kick ass and always will...they combine Midival AND Future role play nearly perfectly...they always combine the two so very well and make a type of fantasy that's like no other.

Fantasy is a serious favorite of mine, half because of the magic, half because of all the cool mythical creatures. However, I voted Future Earth because Fantasy can sometimes get either kinda old if the sterotype is done again and again. Future earth rarely gets old from what I have experienced.

The reason I chose future earth over future space, is because future space often gets too out of hand, because when you throw in a million other aliens and lightspeed, the entire damn realm of reality goes bye bye, and things can get way too "WTF?!", and rules bent way to easily. Future earth helps keep this a bit more under control, while still allowing some nice fastasy escapes. Although fantasy future earth done right rulzors all! ^,^

I just do what I can to help the boards. And have fun when I want.

And as for what was said earlier about Fantasy being 'everything?' It's not really. Fantasy is characterized by certain aspects:

1. Different races that aren't human. Usually some cross breed of animal and human, walking talking animals, or like elf, ogre, etc.
2. Magic. Magic is a BIG thing that makes it Fantasy from the start. If you have some form of it, it immidiately adds the 'fantasy' tag to the RP itself.
3. Altering reality with no aid. What do I mean by this? Superpowers, essentially. If you can jump (as a human) 50 feet in the air, I call it fantasy. If you can breathe fire as a human? Fantasy.

There's just dividing lines. I just thought I'd point that out ;)

Actually Medieval are among one of my favorites. I just prefer Fantasy over it, in general. Fantasy is such a broad topic, while medieval is somewhat specific. That, or it's a sub-genre of the Fantasy entirely. Most of the Medieval RP's we have, if not all of them, have been mixed with fantasy. If we didn't do that, then we'd have Shakesperean tradgedies going on all over here... And that's no fun, unless you want to read Hamlet, MacBeth, and Romeo and Juliet all day... I did that in high school, so doing it here? No thanks.
