War machine of Europe, twin brother of Austria, Germany starts in a very diplomatic position, able to mess up France's, Russia's, Austria's and of course Italies day at will.

The Italians in contrast of regular diplomacy start fairly well, they can either sieze the middle east, fight Austria, Attack France, or do something dirty for what they are credited with.

The Austrians, even though like before are nearly compressed by everyone, have another problem of their plate, Monte Negro. This prevents a giant balkan gambit which would bring tears of joy to them all. In short I feel sorry for the Austrians

Looking at the map I can tell you public opinion on Russia is going to be divided. Look at it, its massive starting with 6 SC, but if you look on its fronts... you relise that it is forced to compete with everyone on the board at a high level. Just so you know the Juggernaut is terrifying on this map...

Turkey,

Turkey finaly discovers how dangerous it is to have more then 2 neighboors. Italy are dangerously annoying with F Mag and Russia & India might make a neat arangement. Whats certain is that if Turkey siezes power it can expand from 2 fronts at ease.

India has the POTENTAL to be a strong power... its just that at its infant stages its quite weak.If it secures its borders, mounts its horse... it can be the leading eastern power in the Indionesaians.

Japan,

The Empire of the Sun can be considered the Asian equalivilant of Britain. It is the 2nd most naval power and starts with some hefty positioning. The fact is, Japan poses a threat to Russia, France and Brittain. Japanese intervention would spoil any hope of an easy game.

China... picture a country with open positioning, and wide borders. Thats China for you, China like India needs to secure its borders at the speed of light, or... its dead. China posesses one special power though. This is the ability to dicate the amount of SCs Japan is alowed to take. Many Chinas end up 'migrating' down West to rid themself of the Japanese naval menance.

I only started a counter-alliance because you forsook your European roots and ordered a crusade against France and England. It depends upon when you move into it. You 'claim' territory at the end of Fall, so if you move into the neutral province in Spring then yes it would take 2 turns (spring and fall). If you move into it in the Fall then it's just one season (that Fall).

Territory changes hands after the Fall retreats (AKA right as the Winter Adjustment phase occurs). You can move in there anytime before that. You can move in there during the Spring and hold, Spring retreat phase and hold, in the fall or even enter via the Fall retreat phase. If you're in the SC by Winter adjustments, it's your SC.

England, France and Russia establish themselves in the east. Germany and Russia lead to blows, with Germany halting the Russian invasion of Sweden. Japan aids Russia against the Chinese legions and narrowly saves korea.
Germany annexes the netherlands, while France sweeps into former Spainish territory. Brittain takes the Irish plum and throws in a Norweigan cherry. The Italians expand over Africa and the middle east.

China gains satifisfying fruit from its campain, but hasnt reached its goal. Japan enjoys a healthy slice of Indionesea, while India grabs Java. A demilitarization in the North Sea does not hamper the English Navy in the slightest, as any German offense would be horridly crushed upon entering by Fleets Norway, Edinburgh, London and English Channel. Seeing that a German offensive is impractical and impossible, the only logical basis for the British remaining in Nth is to launch an invasion against Denmark, Belgium, or the Netherlands.

I can assure you, any defended province, is not something I'm going to target, and why did you even ask for a DMZ of the North Sea, if it isnt even useful to you? A DMZ would hamper the movment of my fleets, which I see as a threat, and an expoitable weakness. I mean no offense to Germany, but if a DMZ is suggested, I'd like it to be important to both of us, so we both suffer the weakness of impeded movement, if we chose to honour it.

Attacking a defended place is rather easy, but I certainly will not allow you to manuever into a position in which such an attack will be possible. Let me put it this way: Nth borders 3 of your SCs and 3 of my SCs, so if neither of us go there, neither of us is likely to attack one another. I have never mentioned taking Nth for myself; only you have done that. Obviously you are hostile to the German state.

You cannot move from one ocean province to another on the opposite side of the board, directly. However you have no doubt seen the spaces marked OBA through OBL. These are Off-Board boxes that allow movement from one side of the board to another. You may move to an OB space from it's adjacent territory, and movement between OB territories is as follows.

OBB -> OBA, OBC, OBL
OBC -> OBB, OBD, OBH, OBI, OBJ, OBK
OBD -> OBC, OBE, OBF, OBG
OBE -> OBD, OBG

Not entirely correct. Camping in an OB territory is only possible to the extent that camping in any other strategic point is possible. You may support movement to and from OB provinces, provided your support is consistent with the rules of Diplomacy. For example, if Japan were in OBB, OBL, and OBK, he could support himself from L or K to OBA using F OBB S F OB* - OBA. However the problem comes in getting out of A and B, since they do not share a common province save each other. Without help from France or England, a simple unsupported move from either power could prevent Japan from ever gaining ground in Europe. Of course, that one fleet moved to bounce could prove enough for a power to lose it's grip on another theatre. And then Japan, unopposed, sails into the MAO or NAT and invades everyone.

Well this all seams to go quite in my favour, save russia acting the fool. But that dose not consern me too much for my plan is not yet breach and is going quite well. Any way to the point of this post England and France seam to be wanting to go around the world to Jappan and that would be most rare, but still I must ask what are you going to do with dose fleets and BTW I ask for a nap with both of you (if I don't already have one, my memory banks do not tell me that we do so I ask you one now).

I disagree. DS has made no valid point. WK said he would return on the 30th. DS should have realized that this meant WK would get home on that day, not that he would be available that day. I find it silly to wait for a week and then make orders for the person you were waiting for because you can't wait an extra hour or two. Why didn't you just write his orders to start with and save us all the wait? Or better, why didn't you just wait the extra day for WK?

I also think DS made a bad call, WK informed you he would be back on the 30th. You can't expect someone to be able to give in orders after an exhausting trip. And to move his men for him? If anything you should have NMR'ed him and done the most basic thing, and obvious thing, a GM does with this, make all his units hold.

As a GM you do not take over for someone, no matter what. If they NMR (in this case you should have waited for his units, but that's besides the point) then all their units hold. By moving his units you can screw him over and any diplomatic arrangements he could have made. You might have thought you helped him, but you are really screwing him over.

This will not be 1942 all over again.

But really I'm losing a bit of ground not much and I'm not defeated yet. So don't start celebrating yet.
And a message to Japan, gaining Manchuria would be really nice. Just like back in the days. You already have a Indonesian empire, quite a nice one and Manchuria would be a nice addition for that, actually any part of China would be great for you, (expanding your empire) and for me as well, getting rid of this insulent torn from both of our sides.

Usually declarations of war come after retreats, otherwise the decision to retreat into a build is a lot easier.
