View Full Version : Betrayal in multi

You know what gives gamers a bad name? Well, the few bastards (they're mostly just about 12 years old) that, just for fun, give other gamers "dick" or say they suck. Or they ally with another gamer, and when one of the enemies is destroyed they betray their ally.
Just like I was betrayed yesterday in a multi-player game.
I allied with another gamer (I don't know the creep's name anymore), and after a while playing he said "You all suck!". When one enemy was destroyed, he places some of his Protoss Reavers into my camp and destroys it. I asked him why he does such thing. He replied that he did just for fun.
These freaks must be stopped!

This is why I only play Top vs Bottom game types, not melee.

There's a nice term for this practice. It's called BS. And it has multiple meanings. All of which apply. :p

I saw a hall of shame on some website with screen names of BSers. I cant't remember the site though.
Mabey somebody should start a thread like that? But you would need some proof, like a replay.

Oh cool... I wonder if I made it onto their site (being a comp stomp stomper as I am and all).
I don't believe in such lists; as if you're going to look up everyones name to make sure they're not one of those on your big-arsed list. Even if they were, they could easily have created a new account anyway. Oh yeah, and not to mention that your list will contain barely any of the total backstabber handles. :)
But yes, backstabbing team games is pretty low and pathetic.

I don't see what's wrong with BSing; it's a part of the game. Heck, part of the broodwar storyline was based on that. (And you all know that infested Kerrigan's hot). BSing keeps the game different every time. If you just wanted to play a "nice, relaxing" game then don't play Starcraft online. I say the more difficult, the better. As a player, you should always prepare for every contigency you can.

that is really nice and all but when the names of the game is stated before the game should be like that. Such as a 3v3. A 3v3 does NOT mean 4v2. That is why I hate bsing
#@~@$&$s. They change the game into making it very unfair.

I always find it funny when they go "OMFG OMFG WTF MAN!? YOU A HOMO FAGGIT!". Hilarious, I think. I only BS in momney maps though. It really is amazing how one reaver shot and totaly fuck a money map economy.

The one thing about a money map economy, is that it ususally won't matter if you kill all of someone's workers, unless they haven't been doing their job. I know I usually have surpluses of 10000-20000 of each resource (with plenty more to be mined)...more than enough to rebuild an attack or defense.

he is right. you do have around 70000 minerals. But now I play regular maps and they offer a greater challenge to me. I love regular maps and I can't believe I actually used to like money maps. Wow I changed so much and have become such a good player. To all you money mappers- I was one too but I like regular maps better. If you want a challenge then start playing regular maps. PLaying money maps means you are a noob just like I was but now I have progressed and become much better. In money maps all you see is millions of photons. In regular that does not happen because space is small and some terrain you can't build on so that prevents people who make a million photons. In regular maps it is hard to find 12 battlecruisers or 12 carriers. In money maps itis normal to see 40 carriers or 45 battlecruisers. If you like startegy and want to play a fun action filled game then play regular maps. If you want to play boring games where everyone builds 40 carriers and 1000000 photons then play money maps.

Yes, I remembered that after I posted. The thing is, since you are obviously attacking him if you're going to BS, he'll have to devote his resources to defending himself while not gaining anything else. Ontop of that, you can really screw him by destroying his CC, or Hatch, or Nexus.

there is a difference between bsing and switching sides in the middle of the game, not much but there is one. Joining a game with a friend and pretending not to know eachother and join oposing teams. Its fun to set both teams up to launch all out attack against eachother, pull back your own forces and wipe out your weakened allies. Ally with your friend and win the game, but hey thats just me talk'n.

I think BattleCruiser has it figured out. Money maps take away strategy. I played a friend on Ashrigo, and we were about evenly matched. On a money map, he destroyed me. If he had taken his High Templar on the offensive rather than leaving them with his photons, I would have annihilated his base long before he broke through my sunkens (gaurdians + hydras waste protoss buildings like nothing else, plus a defiler+plauge speeds it up). But one unlucky wave of psionic storms wiped out most of my guardians, leaving my hydras without air support, and they were unable to break through, even with the defiler's help. Needless to say, I lost.
Anyway, as far as BSing, I personally still dislike it, even though it can have some benefits.

it is kind of anoying when, in a 2v2, after you do all the work and kill the other 2 players, your ally (who has 150 units inside your base) suddenly says "i don't like you" and starts killing you. Your army is already weak from defending him and obliterating the enemy.

I hate playing with turtles, i dislike playing with bulldogs and my prefered teammate is the hybrid... Havent come across a BSer yet, probably to the fact that i dont let my teammates in my base, only builder units if they got attacked or I know them.
