View Full Version : The Definitive Metal Threaf
Okay, it took me a while to get round to this, but here is the ultimate thread for all things metal.
because, lets face it,metal bands from germany are superior, let us worship them now.
Actually, not just germany, finnish metal is also good.
Germany: Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Helloween, Primal Fear
Sweden: Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall
(Feel free to add any good metal here)
(I think that is right)
Remember, in the words of KAI himself, "Its a heavy metal universe"
How good is heavy metal??, discuss
Oh, and can a mod make it say THREAD instead of threaf?

Actually, not just germany, finnish metal is also good.
For some reason the Christian metal scene (From black to doom, Death to industrial) is relatively big in Australia. So w00t for Australian metal.
How good is heavy metal??, discuss
It's so damned good, it blew out the good-o-meter when I tried to measure the goodness thereof.

I can still remember when Hells Bells was in the top 10 and we called it heavey metal then.Love AC/DC, also still listen to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Wizards and Kings and Rush.
Though I think many of you would not think any of this is metal these days.

Thats better.
I think Power Metal overall is more of a Europeon thing. Most of the stuff which comes out of the US is more Thrash Metal or Stadium Rock rather whereas Europe tends to place more emphasis on Keyboards, ballards and kickass guitar solos and less on vocals.
Yes it does.
Possible exception of Norther, whose vocals really should NOT be emphasized.
And more melodic stuff is far and away superior to band that just go for "Heavyness" above all.
