Couldn't you make a clone of yourself that was the opposite sex, though? Like(for a guy) keep all the chromosomes the same but switch out the Y chromosome with a copy of your X chromosome when making the embryo. That'd be pretty crazy.

Wait a minute. Then you would only have characteristics of your mom, and not your dad. OK here's what you do. Switch out the Y chromosome with your dad's X chromosome. Yeah, that might work. But then you lack the characteristics of your paternal grandfather! Oh no it's a vicious cycle.

No, that's not true hammock. The only genes you would be missing from your father would be the ones located on that Y chromosome. I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think there are many or any actual genes on that chromosome. The rest of the genes from your father would be spread out on your 22 other pairs.

Oh yeah, you're right. I knew that, I just got carried away. What was I thinking? But there are a few important things on the Y chromosome, for example, diseases and disposition for and against diseases affecting males.

I made it up like this:

ego means "I";
soma means "body";

copulation means "sexual intercourse";


So egosomatic means "my body" and copulation is "sexual intercourse", so combine the two and we have:


egosomatic copulation - sexual intercourse with one's own body


There is no such thing as egosomatic copulation. In fact, the link has nothing to do with copulation of any sort. So the discussion is still open.
