I often switch between scxtra and starforge b/c scxtra is much easier when it comes to trigs but starforge has other awesome capabilities. But everytime i switch from starforge to xtra, i see a message showing that the "obsolete doodads have been removed" and the doodads i previously placed are all messed up and can only be deleted by changing the terrain. Is ther a patch for this or should i reinstall something?

It has to do with how StarForge does things. Simply stated, you kinda have to stick with StarForge if you are getting errors like that. I don't know much about them, etc. but I do know that how you do things in SF is different from SCXE, which makes compatibility nil to none from SF to SCXE, as far as I know.

Yeah, if I just elaborate on what King_Templar said, there are things that StarForge can do that SCXE cannot, and if you use those features on your map, then when you open the map up in SCXE, SCXE will go "These bits are invalid" and "fix" your map by removing them.

SCXE is based on the original Blizzard editor, that is why it suffers some of these limitations. You just have to do what King_Templar said, use StarForge only if you have special features in your map, that's the only way. Apart from using SCMDraft (which is my favourite map editor...)

Yes, what I have noticed is that I get that message when I try to open up a fastest map on SCXE, the reason being the stacked minerals made by starforge.

Personal suspicion confirmed. ;)
Especially now, that the TriggerEdit plugin works everytime you start it and even more with that newer version (read public pre-release) that has some new dandy features, such as multimap opening at the same time.
