Boy grabs knife after dad pulls plug on videogame

HONG KONG (Reuters) - A 13-year-old Hong Kong boy flew into a rage and threatened his parents with a kitchen knife after his father pulled the plug on his computer game, police said on Monday.

"The boy's mother told police the boy was thrashing about with a knife. Nobody was charged," a police spokeswoman said.

The father managed to overpower the boy and no one was injured in the fracas early on Sunday morning, a local newspaper reported. The father pulled the plug on the game at around midnight when the boy refused to stop playing and go to bed.

Note that this is not korea. The child is clearly greatly disturbed. I wonder what his father has been doing to him other then pulling theplug on his video games.

I see the problem. The plug was pulled before the boy could save.

Err . . . well . . . gee, I hope that was sarcasm assassin_666 . . . because if not that's kind of creepy.

That kid needs some serious help. It's alright to be upset when someone messes up your game, but pulling a fregin' knife?!

Oh no, no butter knife. Get a spoon. You haven't felt pain till you've been stabbed with a spoon.

Ahaha! Duddits remembers that show! It was on Fox 45 for awhile then they turned it off. Wasn't the Tick like this big superhero in a red (or blue.. forget) suit? Duddits remembers one of the episodes where they were trying to fly and jumped off building after building, but ended up in the hospital. It was hilarious back then.

Make sure it's a wooden spoon
*shudder* Don't even say that.

My head is overwhelm by the sarcasm in this thread.
Sar...casm? What is this sarcasm? Duddits was being serious, though this statement will be contradicted by a smiling with a grin so large that it must be some kind of zerg/terran hybrid... (Xel'Naga... eat your heart out! Ha ha!)

Jesus. I hate Morrowind's saving. I mean, it messes up on purpose just to get me mad. It makes me want to drive a blunt screwdriver into the side of the Xbox.

It's funnier than hell, expecially if it's plugged in while you do it. Mind you that Duddits has never owned an X-box, but nontheless has stabbed one with a screwdriver.

Ya, I remember reading this somewhere and it is a prime example kids should get some kid of corporal punishment. I swear if my kid did this to me not only would he not be able to sit for a week he will be finding his butt ship to the nearest military school.

Duddits
03-16-2004, 8:24 PM
Sitting is overrated. Duddits would force him to crawl for a month. Teach him not to be some kind of knife-wielding psyco rip off.

Mainland China = One Child Policy
Hong Kong = Full of Gangs and Triads

Basically, either It's their ONLY child or I don't want to do anything that will make him turn bad!!!

That's my point of view. Or else, you will see chicken feather duster in one hand and a tight fist on the other.

MacG

... HK has been under control of the Chinese Government since Jun 1997...
I don't know if the One Child Policy applies tho. Anyone can have more then one kid, just need to pay extra taxes.

Ahahhaaha, that's the one I was going for!

To answer your half-questions way up there Duddits:

The Tick was in fact an awesome show on Fox. The tick is a big blue superhero, and he is dressed like . . . a tick! His sidekick was Arthur, the moth (ex-bank teller, if I recall correctly). They had awesome superhero friends too, though I forget most of them. One looked like a bat, the other like miss america. One was always in the sewers . . .

Ahh, time to open up kazaa and see if we can't find any tick episodes :D.
