Though having CS2 will probably be cool and a bit more useful.

My dad just got me CS... and then they make CS2... they hate me! Oh, and... what are the benefits of CS as opposed to 7? I really haven't looked for them yet.

I just wanted to point out the fact that CS is more expensive than CS2 is supposed to come out for... like... wtf.

Don't worry about it. As I've been saying before - there's no difference between CS2 and CS that anyone on this forum would have any use for, unless you're stubborn and you just HAVE to have the newest and best software.

CS has a couple big improvements over 7, such as an improved file browser and text on a shape.

No idea, though they're proably trying to get you to buy the newer software.

They're just making a special offer so you pay less BEFORE it comes out, just like if you'd have reserved Doom 3 ;). Of course then doom dropped like 10 dollars in a month or two later anyway so it wasn't really that much of a difference.
