ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- City officials were so concerned about the potentially dangerous properties of dihydrogen monoxide that they considered banning foam cups after they learned the chemical was used in their production.

A few of us probably realize the joke at first, but the funny part is that a whole city council and research staff didn't.

a former classmate of mine wrote a persuasive speech and got an advanced speech class to vote to ban DHMO in all forms from the school.

Hahaha, ahh that's classy. I led a few of my friends into believing Dihydrogen Monoxide was a harmful substance, but they eventually caught on. For a group of adults, let alone the adults governing a city to fall for it . . . .let's just say it really doesn't look good for reelection time ;).

dihydrogen monoxide...

dihydrogen monoxide

Di = 2
Mono = 1

2 hydrogen 1 oxygen

Hydrogen = H
Oxygen = O

H2O

Dihydrogen monoxide is water.

Woah. I'm not voting for them. O_o

Well, I can't vote, drink or live in the state of California, so it doesn't matter.

that was funny. I love that one. I thought almost everyone knew that dihydrogen monoxide is water. I guess not.

I oughta report to my school board the 'dangerously high levels' of dihydrogen monoxide in the drinking fountains...

Read post above Duddits' last. Duddits doesn't think the entire town is stupid, just ignorant.
