So, in the ongoing struggle between BlizzForums and WarBoards, the admins and mods at BF have decided to enact a very ghey policy- you have to pay to post on BF.

Now, they're aren't 100% sure about this, but they're pretty certain it will happen in a week or so. So, many people who do not want to pay (like me) will post on WB more often than BF, where you have to pay.

So, yeah. There it is. I think BF might die now.

Well, for some reason this morning the Staff Forum was made viewable (but not postable) to the general public. And one of the staff asked a question about whether or not they should inform us (the public) about how we're going to start having to pay starting April 15th. Of course, all the mods are acting like it's real, but it is probably April Fool's shit.

Then again, the post was made on the 16th of March...

I have insiders that tell me it's a very real thing, and Redcloak has been considering it for over two months now. It is not an April Fool's joke, even though the Staff Forum might be. However, the rumors have altered the truth a little, as always. Special services would be offered to subscribers, however subscription would be optional and not necessary to be able to view Blizzforums and the Legacy sites.

It's not fake, it's that Redcloak created a new forum and transferred everything there, and will probably transfer back after. Most likely, he copied the old forum into the new one, and just added viewability by the base 'member' usergroup, since changing the standard forum has caused errors in the past(and Redcloak is too lazy to fix that).

RogueRed2, I would give you my :2cents: about my feelings about the staff of BF, but you should have already known since February of last year. As for what has been going on currently at BF.com I can't help but laugh at all of the staff members and how corrupt they all have become, including Eros. It is ironic when he complains about how much spam he sees here at WB. I remember many of times when he had spammed his way at BF when he was a new forumer. I can recall a thread in the staff forum with Eros's name (koomann) on it somewhere in the "User Files" forum from the archives prior to the Eman incident, but that is a different chapter in a different story.

Redcloak is getting desperate, that much is certain. I was talking to some of my WC3 clan members (on bnet) and I found out that the mighty RC is beginning to crack. RC is planning on lifting the ban he had placed on me so that I can hang around in BF again. Well, I basically told them to tell RC to kiss my ass, but I doubt they will relay the message to RC. I'll stand firm to what I had said back when WB was created and I won't change my mind.

Coming in from an "outsider perspective", BF is a forum I wouldn't have joined on my own (I needed to see some posts and download an attachment, therefore I have an account there). After seeing 50 mods and too many damn forums for their own good, I became a little repulsed.

I love WB Simplicity.

Once more: it's the internet. It's two internet forums based on a fairly obscure set of games (compared to, say, the widespread name recognition of EA) put out by one game publisher. There is something outside your homes. Grass, sunshine, air, basketball, girls, boys, all kinds of neat stuff.

Yes, it's mighty possible that BF will institute some pay-for-aspect. We had discussed ideas regarding that from the very beginning. However, that is not really any concern of mine. Nor should it be of yours. They'd commit forum suicide if they restricted things solely to those who payed, moreso.. I doubt that they would.

As to their April Fools joke, yes. It was clearly a joke for any of those who were too slow to catch that. However, you've all taken it just a tad too far for my tastes. We have and will continue to enforce a policy at WarBoards in which such discussion of other forums, most particularly BlizzForums is not acceptable.
