April Fools!

Yes, I perpetrated a rather low, below-the-belt April Fools joke. A lot of you assumed it was indeed a joke, however it gets harder and harder to do something on the first and have people believe in its credibility.

To make it all worth it though, we upgraded the forum software from vBulletin 3.0.3 to 3.0.7 -- basically offering countless bug fixes and security hole closures. So we're now running the most up-to-date software.

Thanks for bearing with us during this .. joke. Hopefully you took it to heart. We do so love to play jokes on you all. =]

Anyhow, har har. Have a good day. Discuss my lovely little joke here.. or perhaps let us know about some of the other jokes you've witnessed, been part of, or inflicted on others. This includes any website jokes you've read/seen.

Yea... So I've been wearing this hat, and felt like showing you all how I celebrate my April fools! Wewt!

So far the following pranks have been tried:

1. Shaving cream on door. Removed by turning doorknob rapidly enough to get most of it off from the inside.
2. Bungee cording the door shut. This was done to more than half of our floor (3rd floor North), and they tried to get me. Sadly enough, the person trying to get me, Rookie, couldn't, as I was downstairs shooting pool. My roommate, however, fell victim to it. XD
3. The "Shaving cream balloon outside your door" trick. You don't know this one? Fill a balloon with shaving cream. Put it RIGHT outside a door, right by the crack where you open it. Then watch them try and open it. *Boom* Heh... Gets 'em 90% of the time. Lucky for me, I took a rolled up piece of paper through the little vent thingy on the bottom of my door, and pushed it away XD
4. Glue on the toilet trick. Easily seen and avoided by putting toilet paper down on the seat.
5. Slip n' slide walkways with some kind of very hard to see substance. Don't know what it was, but luckily, I was A) wearing slip resistant shoes, and B) not carying anything heavy, or I would've gone down in an instant.

So far, those are the ones they've tried on me. They're actually right now pennying my door, as I hear them turning the handle. No worries. Always have a worthless ID card with you, so you can easily push pennies out.

My april fools was boring, however my mom got her friend by putting a 'For sale by owner' sign on their lawn late last night. The phone number spelt out 'April Fools' (nobody realized this). The friend got a call along the lines of "Your next door neighbour said you're selling your house?". xD.

Well, here's the explanation of him. 0laf iwas a fictional character created by me. Schwitzer, BSTRhino, and HammockSleeper also contributed to his posts, making him into the crazy individual he was.

Our original goal was to have him to "hack" the site, and do some crazy stuff, but it got thwarted by the "WB Strikes Back" project. Spamming is more important than the April Fools joke, anyways.

If carried out though, I'm sure you guys would have been fooled... :)

Anyways, what are your thoughts about 0laf? I think me and Schwitzer did a hell of a great job... Did anyone have any doubts?

To be quite honest, I'm one to dislike that joke. A while back, you may remember ProtossGenoChick99, and how PC and I tried to convince everyone that it was some random person screwing with it, and then we held a poll to see who it really was. Eventually, the mods closed it off, and we let you know it was both of us. Seeing as how rules are 'supposed to apply to everyone' as a few moderators have stated within posts, I feel this account was against rules. Now I know I'm kind of standing up against mods, and I know it. I could care less. If we're denied our account, I don't see why yours was allowed either.

And yes, I know, you run the site, you do whatever. I'm just pointing out that I feel cheated in a sense.

Welcome to the late night Warboards discussion show where we discuss strange and unusual issues that may be bothering our members. First off, tonight is the eve before April 1st, the terrible day known for cruel and unusual pranks. But before we get into that we’d like to interview a few special guests about cruel and unusual pranks that they have experienced in the past. Our first guest is a local here in the islands [of Hawaii] who has been traumatized by terrible events of the past. Without further delay please welcome our first speaker, Johnny!



Johnny:



Thank you, I’d like to start off with a little speech about cruel and unusual pranks and punishments. Pranks are fun, but not for everyone. If you were to, for example, remove a critical access portal from someone’s living room, you may cause them to go into a state of panic. But lets say you had a backup plan and decided that if they were to call the international guard of anti-prankness, you would flee to the corner of your realm of existence, protecting you from any spam guns thrown your way. This is still a very cruel and unusual crime…er prank you have commited…….pulled I mean, and you should feel ashamed that you have deprived a young chimpanzee of his proper nutritional values of chlorine.

Anyways, it was many years ago when I experienced this cruel and unusual prank. My younger being of brotherlyness decided it would be cruel and unusual to climb the hallway and hang from the ceiling. Now that’s not so bad, you say, but then he decided to cruel and unusually scare me by dropping down from no where! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!

Maybe one day someone will realize that if there weren’t any sinister, cruel, and unusual pranks there wouldn’t be such wonderful talk shows such as these! (literally)

Btw peeps: two years ago I played the meanest prank on my ex-best friend. (At the time we were best friends but no anymore) Geno aka Larry knows aaallllll about it ;) Rule #1: Never mess with pplz emotions for a stupid prank--Trust me, it has some dire consequences....

For instance....My co-worker Criss at Taco Bell....*rolls eyes and shakes head* Today he sent a text message to everyone on his cell phone that was family or close friends saying, "To all of Criss's friends....Criss was in a tragic accident and is no longer with us...." I swear man, his aunt called his dad frantic and bawling her eyes out. My other co-worker Katie was tripp'n out an couldn't believe it. And according to other sources, other ppl were calling his dad crying on the phone at his "loss". The only reason I didn't fall for it was cuz I saw him before I got the text so he let me in on the little secret :P

P.S. Another April Fools prank!: My friend on the floor had to walk through the hallways naked, because someone took his towel out of the bathroom, and noone'd help him.
