"The frenzy over the PSP's US launch has crossed over to the wrong side of the law. According to The Charlotte Observer, a man in Charlotte, NC, decided to grab some PSP Value Packs via five-finger discount on Tuesday night. The crook reportedly moseyed into a GameStop store after the retailer received its shipment of PSPs. Then he entered the storeroom and walked out with 12 PSP Value Packs. When confronted by an employee on the way out, the thief attempted to "knock her glasses off her face" and continued on his way out of the store. The perpetrator remains at large. " -Gamespot

I'm not really surprised. But twelve? What in the six hells is that guy supposed to do with twelve PSP Value Packs? Keep one and bury the others?

If I stole 12 PSPs, I would no doubt sell all of them at a slight discount. Next I would buy my own, perfectly legit. Provided no one traced me to the stolen ones, I have a receipt for my own and a little extra cash to boot. Hmm...it does sound like I've put a bit too much thought into this. =P

If I hear someone stole a PSP, I know who to direct the cops to.

I want a PSP real bad but they're really overcharging at all the pirated goods stores!

I think they're overcharging for the non-pirated goods as well...250 bucks for a handheld system?!?!? That's insane! Who cares if it will let me watch movies for up to three hours on a tiny little screen? I don't need to see my pictures on a game system when I can already do that with my a) digital camera b) computer c) tv or d) pda! Speaking of which, anyone who would want to listen to music on a portable system would most likely already have something like a pda or an ipod. (besides, they are cheaper!)
sure, all these features are great, but are they practical? (as in would you buy it if if JUST played dvd movies or if it JUST played mp3s or if it JUST let you view pictures? No, they are just little ad ons. you are only buying the PSP because either you want the game system, or your mind has been poisoned with sony's marketing techniques)

I might be a little more sneaky if I were going to steal 12 PSP's...

It is a little bold to just walk out with them and let everyone see you. I wonder if this guy has been caught yet.
I find it great that PSPs barely have 4 hours of battery time.
Oh well. With PSP Lauched that just means we are closer to the FF7:AC launch :)
