Most of what you put I agree with, mainly because it's a given.

I disagree. I've made at least a few posts about it here (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=506).

Only if the Protoss and Terran were given a new ability as well that was as useful to them as this would be to the Zerg.

It would be cool if you could choose to give the map a sphere like property, meaning that if you went to the edge, you appeared on the adjacent side. Is that what you meant? Even if it's not, I still think that's a great idea.

Well hero system sorry :P. I dont think it needs one. Now with the digging i dunno it wouldnt be really useful anyways because detectors would always be around. Zoom in and out maybe it should be a option if you wanna do that. Higher control limit, I dunno I think 200 was good.

case in point, u got sorta the idea, but on the minimap it would be a ball, and if you scrolled to the edge the ball would rotate, that would only work with 3d terrain i think, and you would need rotatable camra.

shinigami, what if the protoss gor more handy detectors and the terrans got teleportation (short distance or a special building like a nidus canal)

and by a higher control limit i meen 300, maby 400 at the most, itd be longer and bigger battles

as for heros, the more i think about it, the more i dont like it, maby ill just play warcraft for heros

u peoples put your ideas down, i gave my 10, ware are yours?

I dont know if this is what you mean by zoom, but I think being able to look through the eyes of a unit as it fights would be a pretty nifty idea.

The Zerg dont have any cloaked units, so i think Zerg being able to move underground is a good idea, but not all Zerg that can dig.

Something close to a Hero system but not exactly. More like massive, or powerfull units that can be built only once per game. Example: For the Terrans, a Ghost with no Psi dampener. It would quite possibly kill most units with one shot and maybe push large units like BCs back. Of course it would require a lot of resources and a lot of time. In addition, it could only be built in the late stages of the game because it would have many pre-requesites.

That is a good idea...The units would be extremely powerfull and take up alot of population...like the Mamoth from Tiberial Sun, or hero's for Red Alert 2

The C&C super units were just one-at-a time, they didn't take any population, 'cause it didn't exist there...

GOD I HATED THE 1 LIMIT HERO RULE FOR C&C!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol i know this is the gayest idea you will ever hear but scarmy imagine 1400 people playing in the game owning 1 person this would be more of a clan thing to but depending on your clan wins and accomplishments depends on the upgrades you guys get and then you could play with one unit but once your down your down for the count so you have to strategies good like diablo i guess in a way with a 3d map and 2d units and everyone one gets one unit and everyone starts with a scv depending you can always get a new unit when the game coem but it would fuck up the strat totally unless you had one person who controled each unit one guy controlling 700 people and he would have to build to let he his friends in or if one died another could take his friends place be kinda lame tho cause once you die your gone for good until you fight again lol and bnet could rank the deaths and wins you get kills for wins and after a the game you could use the bnet money to get upgrades or improved weopons or somethin like that would suck tho cause others would over power some also make it so you can train to by yourself against comps ums maps would take a entire diff route with this type of game lol its just an idea tell me what you guys think (not for sc2 but another sc game )

but another sc game ) my real ideas are posted within the entire board of sc2 theories this is just a lil idea and i didnt have anyplace to put it ( o yea what if every unit could have items lol would be kinda hard tho but you could use short cut keys to use certain items zerg could use treess the roaming animals etc

hero system...no way that would make it an war/star craft mix that combines the wrong eliments into another game

control limit fun but no warcraft has only 100 starcraft already has 200(but if they lowered some of the person count on some units...)

zoom in to complicated to deal with in a battle: will divert attention as well as i think they have a good view(but that is just my oppinion)

I love the spherical map idea. However, i dont want heroes, as i feel it ruins one of the best things about SC- big huge battles. A hero vs hero battle will only have like four or five units total, instead of like...thirty. It ruins it in my mind. Leave heroes for WC3.

Ok.... but i really dont get this. Starcaft already has heros, there just not buildable and therefore only work for UMS, whats up with this hero system thing.

P.S. If this has something to do with warcraft, Ive never played it.[:cry:]

In warcraft you can get heroes in melee games and they are nothing like the normal units. They have upgradable spells and they level up. That is what they mean, and personally, I don't like the hero system.

what if the map was flat but there were leak points to the next area N.S.E or W?

maybe?
the 3d sphere thing wouldn't work, warcraft 3's maps are curved, 3d and it looks awkward

2d with more terrain interaction is best
