Uh... I found out in one of my RP posts that the word cha ink is censored. Take out the a and put the two together. Would someone mind telling me why? I'm not 'down wit da lingo' of today, so if you wouldn't mind explaining, I'd be grateful.

i dunno...maybe the admins didnt want racially offensive terms. but this has a second meaning as well, so i guess it should be removed...

The word is meant as a racist term toward the chineese people, but as I would assume u meant it like a cha ink in armor or something right.

Actually, I meant it as the sound when a bag of coins hits the palm of another person's hand, but yea, that works too.

Aye. There are certain words that have no purpose other than vulgarity and obscenity. Why would we allow them on a PG-13 forum?

You'd be surprised, though. A lot of words that I don't know about are probably banned, and would make good sound effects. If I think any more sound effects up, I'll make one whole post with them all, and see how many are banned! Then I have to go back and guess what words they were XD
But anyways, that answers my question. I'll just make sure to ignore any other... Odd censory things... o.O

Hey you know what I think might be a good idea? If we censor all common misspellings of words...I'll help come up with a list and one of the admins can type them into the list. This way when someone sees their post, they'll be like wtf? and have to go back and fix their post or no one will understand what they're talking about.

On a slightly related matter... I've noticed today that my siggy doesn't posses anymore the FF logo image linked there (aka it seems to have been deleted). Is it a new forum policy to siggies or did my UserCP got screwed somehow? :confused:
meh, Its only racial insults as far as I know, id try and find them all in a single post - but if any of them were not censored id look like a racist git (and would probably get banned)

Why copy the error, as you're only lowering yourself to another's level. It's best if they don't ask, like what I did. If anything else is censored, I'll just look it up. I had no idea on this word, though. Let's just leave it at that, and if you have questions, PM AJ, or yell for Fengy... o.O

Being Chinese, I have heard the term before - though mainly used by a Chinese friend of mine who takes far too much pride in the color of his skin and who is apparently blind to the content of his character. Still, that's interesting. I never knew this forum had censorship until now.

I never knew this forum had censorship until now.It doesn't have censorship as long as no one posts anything to be censored. The only time anyone to my knowledge has ever seen a word censored is when it was censored unnecessarily. I think it speaks for the considerate and appropriate nature of the members of Warboards to know that we don't have to resort to measures such as censorship to keep a standard of decency here. It's certainly something to be proud of.

Lol! I wonder if the staff will sensor "cha ink" now so we can't have a discussion on why the words are banned. Of course, the could just lock the thread. I never knew that word, "cha ink without the a" even existed, even for a sound effect.:P

I agree with starring racial insults out. Maybe it's cos I've been on the receiving end of 'em more than once...:shiftyr:
