Hello everyone! As I promised in Black.Ice's Good versus Evil thread, I am creating this thread. Ender's Literary Spotlight will be (probably) a weekly-updated thread, every friday. In this thread I'm going to post authors, books, book series, etc. everyone week. These will be works that I have read and enjoy and that I recommend to the community. Some of them will be more well known, others will be obscure. I'm a hardcore reader and writer, and can pound through a 400 page book in a just a few hours. I read many different things, though I will say my focus is sci-fi and fantasy. Anyway, I'm going to give out my first recommendation. After, we can discuss what I've posted for the week, though I must ask that once a new spotlight is out, we cease talking in the thread about any previous spotlight. If any questions remain unanswered by the time a new spotlight comes out, please feel free to PM me with any suggestions.

Literary Spotlight Number 1: Author Michael A. Stackpole
I've been reading Stackpole's works for many years now. He has amassed a significant amount of novels, short stories, comics, computer games, board games, and essays. With his ability to pump out sometimes 3 complete novels a year, Stackpole's diverse works are never in short supply.
Stackpole has worked in both Sci-fi and fantasy areas in regards to novels. He has created many quite unique worlds. He always brings something new to every single one of his books, and his fantasy worlds are especially unique. If you are in search of fantasy stereotypes, I highly recommend you DON'T read his books, because each one is different.
Stackpole's most famous works lie in the Star Wars series. One of the earliest to be invited to write in the Expanded Star Wars Universe, he helped set the bar and is now one of the most important architects of the series. His Star Wars: X-Wing series that he created has had a profound effect on any subsequent Star Wars novel. His series was the one which contained the final defeat of the Empire. He wrote the book in which the Alliance actually takes over Coruscant. He created a new character called Corran Horn, who is now one of the most influential heroes of the Star Wars universe, and brought true definition to yet another, Wedge Antilles, who flew with Luke in the assault on the first Death Star, and destroyed the second with Lando Calrissian. He also helped design the New Jedi Order series, writing two of the books in which he produced another very powerfully effective character for the series known as Ganner Rhysode.
Michael Stackpole is a fascinating and skillful writer whose works never cease to amaze me. The re-reading value on this books borders on endless. He has a talent for suspense and many unique ideas. Michael's website is www.stormwolf.com.

Recommended Works by Michael: The Dragoncrown War Cycle (The Dark Glory War, Fortress Draconis, When Dragon's Rage, & The Grand Crusade); A Hero Born; I, Jedi; his Star Wars: X-Wing series (5 books); & Star Wars: New Jedi Order-Onslaught and Star Wars: New Jedi Order-Ruin.
