The game isn't even out yet and it has almost 500 votes of 5.0

That's one crazy rating. I was really excited for this release since I am a big Quake III/Unreal fan. Check it out.

I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5. Most likely I"m going to go get get ebgames has a cool deal were you get it for free, i think there's a mail in rebate, return ut 2003 and some other used games and you get so much off. Either way i'll problay get it monday or tues. Most people say it will be game of the year, and that will probaly be the case, or at least pc game of the year. Doom III might beat in graphics but it lacks in the funnest part, multiplayer. Farcry, BFV, and the second Call of Duty might have a little chance. If Vavle can get things under control and get HL2 out sometime possibly in the summer they might have a chance. There is that new tribes one but i haven't seen much on it...

Tribes is coming out in Fall, I've played the first one, but the game play is almost the same as UT to me.

It's going to be great for about the first week, week and a half you have it, then it's just going to start getting boring like all of the other FPSs ;)

I don't play online games anymore, it just soaks up too much of my time. I don't mind bots though, I have confidence against them :)

Not if you like FPS's ;)

I like FPS, but never have liked the UT series. I enjoy single player more than Multi : )

Yeah, there is a big difference between bots and real players. When you play single, there is no ping, and you can predict the skill level and moves the bots may make.

Real players, you get assholes with T1 connections that want to make your corpse explode. I rather have assholes to shoot. :D

4.9 at most, there's always room for improvement.

You're kidding? I personally felt that UT2004 was so similar to UT2003 that I was surprised they were releasing it as a standalone product.

WEll a patch would have been to large, way to large. With so many new maps and character models, vehicle stuff, plus the new modes. It is supposed to be a 4 cd game. One thing that should be fun is the outer space maps, either way UT2004 might be your money spent. Also if you are upgrading from 2003 there is $10 rebate in the box.

2004 should have been a patch for '03

And the first UT was better neways

I would give four out of five.

Becuase there was a few things that
I disliked.

1-Xan was not the champion.
2-The last assault mission was
immposible.
3-You could not configure bots
In Instant action mode.

Otherwise It was really great game.

I have 2003, I'm not going to pay more for so much recycled content.

Um, 2004 was the content part of UT2k3. Most of the development money for UT2k3 was spent on the engine. UT2k4 added assault, onslaught, vehicles, and a bunch of other fun things. There really isn't much that was "recycled."

I played the demo, and it seems that the game is all eye candy. It's the same old gameplay, but new levels, better graphics, cheap weapons and vehicles, and a few new game types. I personally felt that onslought mode (or whatever the mode with the power nodes) was just a waste of time. Maybe I'll get the game when the price drops enough. That way if I don't like the game, I won't have wasted my time and money.
