What do you think the percent of the Chinese food you get from American Chinese restraunts is really chinese?

zero to none.
Chinese food usually mixes with the food culture of the country where it is madet. It becomes American Chinese food instead of traditional Chinese food. Chinese food tastes different all over the world;). Well okay some things do stay the same like dumplings.

That is very true. I couldn't find anyone that served General Tso's Chicken in London and I have yet to find any resturant in Ohio that serves a proper Crispy Duck.
Then again, I wasn't trying that hard to find either, but you get the idea. :P

Generally, alot of it is the same style, but a little bit different. Mainly because in the US, the kinda banned using cat for their fried ribs. :p

lol... heh. I don't really like chinese. Too greasy for me and my stomach doesn't like greasy food (to put it in the nice, text friendly version).

tards.
Funny how people don't say Chinese Fast Food. Never eat chinese food that aren't from Chinatown. I work in San Leandro and their local chinese food gives me stomachs. Horrible food compare to Oakland's Chinatown.
If you visit Real Cantonese resturants, you get some exotic taste in your dinner.
Btw, I remember a someone on Jay Leno said he bought his chinese diplomats to one of NYC highest class chinese resturant and they didn't like the food at all.

In Toronto: anywhere where the entire plaza is made up of Chinese shops, and it'll be good.

i quoted the wrong thing. but yeah, your assumption wasn't very accurate.
Toronto has the most amazing chinese food of any city (at least ones that ive been to).
If the food is greasy, either its supposed to be that way (i'd doubt it), or you're eating at a crappy place. Im pretty picky about my chinese food, and even though a lot of ppl like jockey (higgins @ roselle, for you chicago suburb ppl), its food is crap IMO. Anyways my point is, it really depends on your tastes, but I like the more sit-down-and-order (semi-westernized) food.
Btw, panda express is bad (at least that one time i had it). And chinese buffets are not a good representation of good chinese food. And chinatown is not as sanitary/westernized as a nice suburban restaurant (e.g. Yu's Mandarin, the best chinese restaurant that ive been to thats close to home).
Just remember, if it doesnt taste good, then its not good chinese food :)

I eat Chinese food everyday. Why? Because I'm chinese... So instead of my mom saying, "Let's get some chinese take-out!", she goes "Let's get some American take-out!" Different people, different places.
