i took into consideration what i've been told by sambo and schwitzer.
i haven't been able to find any build orders but i played against a protoss player this time.
no action until 10-15 minutes, ended around 28 or so minutes.
after the round was over.. i realized the opponent had a huge blank space in his base.
i should've comsat.
but could take the time to peek at this replay?

First of all, don't make any new threads. Just keep posting in the same one with each new question. That way each newbie has one thread, and it's easier for me to follow their progress, and it doesn't clutter the forum.

Alright.. you need to know the basic build. In TvP your build should be something like:

9 depot
10 rax
12 gas
15 depot
18 factory
then a 2nd factory when you can afford it

Then make add on for your first factory, make one tank and start researching spider mines, when the 2nd factory finishes start making vultures and go plant some mines near his choke. Start your expansion CC and make as many tanks as your gas will allow. Use your excess minerals on vultures.

3:00 - bunker is completely unnecessary. Don't EVER make one vs toss.

Also, learn how to wall in. You need to go to like www.sclegacy.com (http://www.sclegacy.com) and download some pro terran replays and watch how they build to get an idea of it.

5:00 - You don't need 2 engineering bays... you need to be going metal (tanks and vultures) against toss.. not marines with upgrades.

8:00 - You have 9 supply depots, and a total of 13 marines. WTF do you need them for. Build supply depots as you'll be needing the supply, not 20 minutes in advance.

12:30 - You don't need 3 armories or 2 science centers either.. you have tons of useless buildings and only 1 factory and few useful fighting units. How do you intend to win with this strategy?

19:00 - You have over 6000 minerals. It doesn't earn interest.. don't you think you might want to have more than 1 factory so that you can spend some of that. WTF do you have 3 starports for.

23:00 - rofl.. that toss is a complete retard.

By the way, you need 3 SCVs mining gas from each geyser, not 6. I don't understand what comsat has to do with anything. It wouldn't have changed one thing in this game.

Once again, you need to save the replays of games that you LOST and post them. Not games where your opponent makes 142981724 cannons and masses archon.

You need to just keep practicing.. There is nothing you can learn from critiques of your replays YET. You need to build a foundation first. I'll attach 2 replays here of basic TvP games so that you can watch them and hopefully learn something.

The first replay is totally standard TvP, and that is what you should try to emulate for now.. until you understand it. The 2nd game, against Frost, shows a different play style. It's really just for entertainment value. It was a good game.

Hehe, I got a good chuckle at the Protoss in that game. If ever some newbie starts massing Archons, it's always halarious to get a Science Vessle and EMP their shields away... equals ten HP Archons running around getting owned :D

But yeah... your main priorities in a TvP should be:
» Wall-in
» Metal (Tanks and Vultures)

thansk for the advice.
another replay.
i tried following a build order this game, and from there, my strategy kind of dispersed.
this was against my brother, and that explains the moment where i withdrew and came back.
if he was a more strategic player, what could he have done against me, and how could i have prevented it?

and sambo, i haven't been able to watch the replays yet, because i'll be getting broodwar tomorrow. for i lost my cd, and asked a friend to burn it for me.

1:08 - once again, you built your gas first. The build is 9 depot, 10 rax, 12 gas, 15 depot, 18 factory.
Before you post any more of your replays you should wait till you get bw again, watch the replays I posted, go dl some more replays and watch them, and play like at least 20 games. Advising you from one game to the next isn't going to help you too much at this point in your development. You're in the stage where you need to be told the basic build, and you have to learn how to perfect it through practice.

The numbers in that build order mean the supply number on which you should build each thing, if you didn't know that. It assumes constant scv production.

7:00 - This newb sucks so much, all you have to do now is take your 4 vultures to his base, kill his 1 zealot, plant mines in front of his gateways so that any new units he builds explode immediately, and then kill all his probes with your vults.

9:30 - The two main things you should practice are keeping your factories constantly building units, and keep your CC constantly making scvs. If you're too slow to make the scvs, then you can queue 5 of them up in the CC, but don't do this with your units. Just keep 2 units queued in your factories for now. It's better than having them idle. Your money is piling up, and you still have very few scvs.. You need to constantly spend all your money, using gas for tanks and excess minerals for vults.

15:00 - When you see a newbie massing scouts, you don't build 45000 turrets. Just start making goliaths to supplement your army, and research goliath atatck range. Make a bunker with 4 marines in it in your mineral line and like 2 turrets, to protect your eco. If he's spending money on scouts, he can't possibly have too many zealots or goons to deal with your attack force, so move in and attack his base.

20:00 Don't pick up your factories and float to a new spot. Just build new ones. You need a lot more factories anyhow.

29:00- I stopped watching.. game is over. From now on, only post replays were YOU LOST, if you want advice on them. Some improvement over last game though.. at least you didn't try to mass BCs.
