Hi folks,
I came here to share with you my feeling about a new RTS game named Armies of Exigo.
The game was developed by a group of ex-StarCraft pro-gamers and some hardcore RTS players.
Armies of Exigo is a fantasy RTS in which the combats take place on 3 different levels at the same time: underground, ground and air combats.
In the world of Exigo, where peace and prosperity have reigned for years, the Empires of man and beast face their greatest threat yet. A sinister force known as The Fallen has awaken to strike where the inhabitants of this world least expect - from underground. For more information about the game history please check Armies of Exigo Tactics website.
You have the choice between 3 totally different races: the Empires, the Beast and the Fallen.
Each of the races has unique units and unique spells. The game graphics are simply amazing: units are so well detailed :) and the best of that is that it doesn’t affect you game experience with more lag for instance :).
For those who like playing a single player, doing the campaign or simply training some strategies vs a computer, I’ve got to tell you that Black Holes teams raised the AI level at a level as high as never seen before! Playing the campaign on hard or a melee game versus computer is now a really good challenge.
For the adepts of the game in a multiplayer mode (like me :)), you will be more than satisfied. The gameplay is a mixture between the well known games: StarCraft and Age of Empires. From the other side, it provides special features that enable you to get into a strategic depth and create a unique gameplay. Each unit has a viable counter unit (more then one in most cases) and many options to go with.
The game is geared towards the hardcore RTS player and is a very micro/macro intensive game with close combat! Even in mirror matches you will find that many players use very different BO's (Build Orders) for whatever strategy they are going for.

Official website: www.aox.ea.com (http://www.aox.ea.com/)
The community is growing at a big pace every day, and I hope to play a good game vs you soon.

Those graphics rock! but I did notice i looked sorta like wc3, but Welcome to warboards! but if you go promoting this game , and dissing all other competing ones, you will probably get banned, because some mods might think you are a spokesperson from EA.

Deezed is right, you might have wanted to ask the mods for permission before advertising but welcome to the boards anyways.

Hrhr, I noticed that too. If he is in fact from EA that proves how little they think of us nowadays, little powergamers unsure of how to spell 'sorry' or 'are' :\. Of course, if I am mistaken please accept my humble apologies AoXTactics.

Well as it happens there was going to be a sort of a review on the game on this site a while ago, according to Edge, but got postponed.

Armies of Exigo? Why don't they just call it Fakey Warcraft III? Gameplay is almost shockingly similar, so they might as well.

Hello,
it took me some time to write my first post and did it carefully. replying to answers is somthg i do more quickly. and i write "somthg" and not "something" jut because it takes less time (^_-)
my apology for my bad typing ^^ but since last time i still don't work for EA and will never do. Actually i don't like them much ^^ I like the game itself and they are just the publishers anyway. and as publisher they are quite bad in my opinion they didn't even spend some money to advertise for this really good game. I like the game and would like to see it growth that's why i'm trying to share my opinion with as many people as possible. i'm just a player like you guys, i'm not earning any money for what i'm currently doing. If you have some spare time, check the forum at www.aoxtactics.com and you'll see that i'm actually a student, that's all.
TheGreatBritain, i totally disagree with you when you say that the gameplay is close to Warcraft III. in Atrmies of Exigo, there is no here and you have a 200 population limit. No really, the gameplay is closer to Starcraft and Age of Empires. unique units and spells make it more original and competitivethan those other games.
Yes it's not a new concept there but what's wrong with that ? what you are saying is similar to: Microsoft has invented a good OS for consumers so nobody else should try to do smthg better from the same idea ? i dont agree. we build the futur with experience taken from the past.
Armies of Exigo is an improvement of any kind of RTS game. And at the moment it's THE reference everyone should play.
Cheers.

I might check this game out.
But I had to comment on "TheGreatBritain". That was amusing.

He does have a reason though. One day I was wondering what happened to this game. I was expecting it to be the next starcraft, but when I went to the main fansite, almost all the posts were about trying to get people to play this game. Think about it, a fansite trying to get people to play because almost no one does. The game wasn't advertised much by EA, probably none at all, so I guess thats why it was a flop. I was going to buy this game, especially since Edgewise did some interview of them, so I was interested. But in the end, since no one is playing it, I decided not to.

Hmmm...once I get some money, I should get this game and a bunch of others. Here's what I'm thinking of getting if I ever get enough money:
-Starcraft Battlechest
-Warcraft Battlechest
-Age of Empires series/battlechest
-Diablo Battlechest
-Armies of Exigo battlechest (there's probably gonna be a sequel or two by the time I get enough money for this...XD)

Yeah, it's always just better to go with the crowd, eh?

With games, yeah. Most games that are good, usually have a lot of people playing them.

Well here, I'll give you my primary complaints.
Let's start with the storyline. It's been many long years since humans and their bestial enemies made war, but now war is brewing between the races again. Yet even more evil forces are emerging from the shadows that pose a threat to all of them. Sound a little familiar? Then of course there's the hero system, which is very much like that in Warcraft III. The in-game cut-scenes bring on some real deja-vu as well. The interface, menu, and display layout could have also been cut directly from WCIII.
It's not that AoE isn't presentable as a game, it's just that there's so little real innovation that it's hard for me to get excited about it.
I heard it was supposed to be good, but didn't give it much of a shot because it was by EA. There's a decent amount of bashing of this game in this thread, and yet not a lot of review of the gameplay. I'm downloading the single player game right now to check it out. The next game I'm planning on getting is World of Warcraft, and if I'm going to get AOE rather than WoW, it's going to have to impress me might much in order to do that.
I've been trying to get a copy of WoW for about three weeks now.

We have extra in my town. Not a lot, but usually there are at least 5-8 copies on the shelf at all times (rather they are the same copies or restocking I don't know). I would say I'd send you one if you provided the money, but that would be a lot of effort. =D
The guy at Best Buy told me they didn't have any copies in any of their stores in New England, and the only other place that has games is Gamestop, and the three around here are always sold out.
They just need to have one huge ass shipment, instead of trickling in three or four at a time. It's bullshit.

well to be fair warcraft was a damn good game.
so its not the worst plan in the world to be similar to it. and it cant be that close to it or blizzard would have sued them faster than you can say "copyright infringemenrt"

"copyright infringemenrt"
Infringmenrt is a hard word to say, singo. By the wway, I picked up this game a couple days back, and I would certainly recommend it to those who liked Warcraft III, or just like the RTS genre. And those who are familiar with the unofficial queen of the Game Room(see? unofficial! the mods cant touch me now!)know I don't work for EA. I work for the US Navy, and I don't do anything but watch a green RADAR screen all damned day.
