A shiny new little style to hold us over until we get a more custom designed one.

Probably refreshing for some of you, and I'm sure others hate it.
Too bad. : )

This will work for a while.

It is a bit more colorful than the old one.

I like it.

Isn't this the same as a Mac layout... Or maybe I'm just hallucinating... Very nice...

Oh, and for all of your information, our computer labs have both Mac and Windows... I can't get used to that single click thing, but nonetheless, with one click, it makes everything somewhat... Easier... Weird... Go AJ for bringing back memories of the computer lab ^.^

It looks great, but I hate changes. I don't know... for sites I visit often, I'm not in the mood to see drastic changes and find out what the hell I'm doing for the first 5 minutes I'm there.

But it's cool to see the WB staff throw in a few changes once in a while.

I can definitely relate.

Certain aspects of the design are beautiful, but there are some aspects that aren't jibing with me at the moment. I'm sure I'll get used to it sooner than later though :).

well i think my problem relates directally to this, i encountered a problem with my computer and tried to post it in the tech annexx, but the major problem is that i can't post there cause the select topic thing is gone possibly due to this change.
EDIt NVM wats above this i just needed to delete my temp files, left this there for anyone else who encounters similar problems.

looks nice but I was already to used to the old one and i prefere it.

It's weird.

Seems like it's all text and blocky. As if it's a step backward from the smooth, graphical version that I'm used to. To me, it kind of looks less professional. And it's so colorful. I'd take plain grey over colors any day. If we could choose between this and the old, that would be great.

Changed the default skin and allowed you to change between the skins.
each has their own little issues currently, so don't expect too much sympathy for issues relating to a skin that is going to be retired soon enough.

Agreed. I felt icky when I saw it. I liked that "Just testing.." banner, though.

You can change it in the Options panel in the User CP.

XD This theme mimics the Mac OS X look for windows (specifically Panther+). Those are the close, minimize, and "maximize" buttons.

I love how the first criticism was posted by Jen ;)

I just switched to the Mac skin (or "WarBoards Blue", apparently) and it's quite nice. It's not a rape of colours as some of you seem to think it is :P I'd go as far as to say that I quite like it (this coming from someone who runs a Mac skin for his Windows, though). It needs a bit of work here and there, but it's not bad...

I'm just a little confused. First it was normal. Then I couldn't get on. Then it was blue and stuff. Now its changed back and its a little weird. Did I miss someones post about this thingy do? 'Cause my comp is switching the layout by itself.

Go down to the bottom and flip the chooser. Although once you are in blueland there is no more chooser, you gotta go to User CP Edit Options, you'll see a chooser in there towards the bottom.

Teehee this looks like Aqua-soft. I really like this style - maybe it's Mac envy or whatnot, but I think it's an awesome style to have on this forum. Woohoo, go AJ!

Edit: It would be funny if the buttons on the top left of the "toolbar" did stuff. But there's nothing I can possibly think of that they could do, so ignore this suggestion please.

Why would you "retire" it? The theme itself can't be anymore than a few hundred KB.
in order for themes to work we have to constantly update the templates for each style to get any new additions or changes to work on all of them.

which is why some may have the ability to do some things while others do not.
and the images which the main style was using were much larger than a few hundred KB. :P

When we have fires at my house, it is routine for me too light my hands on fire... one time though, my cousin accidentally lit himself on fire while pouring gas onto the fire... that was funny. He was dissapointed because he was forced to drop his kalua(sp.) when you stopped dropped and rolled (which i reminded him of... he was genna go down a flight of stairs to the lake...)

Didn't want to keep you waiting. I like the mac theme better then the.... all grey theme, I guess. Different, without a doubt, just surprised me at first, definately something I could get used to, and since there isn't really a choice in the matter aside from skins, guess I'll have to :) I actually just got a new mac, its just confusing to see the little toolbar inside the little toobar when I use that browser.

It's nice, but how do you make it so it permanently shows Sigs and avy's? In my 'options' settings I have 'show signatures' setting checked, but it's not doing it :\\\\. A chocolate bagel to whoever can show me how to do it.

It would appear that AJ has made WarBoards default to the Imageless skin. Change your skin to WarBoards Blue (can be done via drop-down at bottom of screen or in the UserCP).

WHat heppened to the cool theme? the one with sc/wc.org at the top?

Basan
01-21-2005, 7:35 AM
Altough I like the blueish style, I'll stick to the imageless one since the ol' style isn't available.
I'll eleborate on this one...
The imageless style shows me who was the last poster in that thread. The new (read blue or Mac, whatever you call it) doesn't. I like to know who the last post belongs to, instead of the number of the last post, like in the blue theme.
The imageless forces me to do all text formating/coding by hand (lack of buttons), and the new one already has'em in.
Can you please add those features/abillities in the themes? Or are they 'fixable'? ;)

Other than that, I like the blueish theme better, altough it isn't as discrete (n' functional) as the old WB's look was. If you can place it (old theme) as an option too, I'd be much obliged. :)

Chalk up another one to the negative side... I guess. *Meh?* :o

In imageless, it wont let me make threads or edit them, the cursor never shows up in the text box:

My point is made. A fully functional theme is in due order... :concern:
Guess that I'll have to use the bluey afterall... (since the imageless seems to be even more lazy than the new one) :pimp:

;( auww, stop changing, I like the old one the best, its easier to see people's avators and signatures, makes it a little easier to know who they are.

But i have a suggestion, try making the design like a cool black background, not grey, grey is so dull.

And try showing stuff blowing up.

I wouldn't mind the entire layout being a little darker, but I can live with what we have now.

Toonami, you can change the skin from the default setting to which I am supposing that you have set right now. You can change it to the blue skin by going to the "edit options" section in your user control panel.

I've fixed and reenabled the Silver theme. It was originally taken down because of certain problems that appeared after the columns were disabled.
