Is there a way I can convert .WAV-files to .MP3 with Windows Media Player, WinAmp or other Media Players? Are there any plug-ins for these programs that can be used to convert .WAV to .MP3? Or should I use other programs for .WAV to .MP3 converting?
Thank you.
best program ever for all those stuff, free download and easy to use, right here:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/
There's Nero (Express or Burning Rom) (http://www.nero.com/en/Downloads.html) also and it's plug, the Nero MP3 Pro encoder. The only problem is that the plug isn't free.
But I've got it as a P2P 'gift' from a friend of mine. ;) So if you want it, drop me a line (PM).
But if Aqo's idea is free n' legal, just go ahead and try it. Mine has a few... glitches amongst the process. ;) *Cough*Illicit crap involved*Cough*

I tried dBpowerAMP Music Converter (the program AqoTrooper suggested) and I like it, but the version you can download at that site is a 30-day time trial and I don't like time trials so I'm going with Basan's suggestion.
Thanks for helping ;) .

PM'ed him the details of where to get the P2P apps I spoke of earlier (when he asked me), so don't worry much 'bout it. *Winks at Aqo*

I used to use Goldwave, but it's also shareware, so that doesn't help.

Try Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). It is a sound modifier, has the capablity to open and save .ogg files. And if you download the extra lame library (that's its actuall name, it isn't really lame as in stupid.) for saving as .mp3

The best program I know is iTunes, however, it only converts to ACC files making them inaccessable to anything else besides iTunes.
On a similar note, does anybody know how to convert BAG files to WAV files?

I downloaded that Nero time trial and found a keygen for it with Kazaa. .WAV to .MP3 converting works good with this program.

Strange that dBpowerAMP has gone shareware. I DL'ed it a long time ago when it was still free, just the PowerPack add-on was shareware.
Anyway, XTERMIN8OR1, if you want a reliable and legal program, then get CDex at http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

Oh damn'. I downloaded that CDex months ago because I needed a program that can rip music from CD's. I didn't know that it can also convert .WAV to .MP3. Thanks for the advice, UED77.

Is it me or iTunes is a Mac only app?
Since most of folks around use the Windows OS (perhaps unfortunetly), it isn't much useful in my eyes... other than it's obvious users (Mac OS). But from what I've seen, it's an awesome app n' cool Net radio. ;)

ITunes is both Windows and Mac. (I at least have it running on my Windows XP).

I thought it was a Mac only. At least a fella engineer said so and since he's kinda an expert at PC stuff (hobby of his), I believed him. Tks for that clear up. :)

I can actually prove it's for Windows.
Just go to http://www.apple.com/ and click iPod + iTunes. Then you can click on an image that says Free Download. After doing that and if everything works like it should, it asks you for your operating system. You can either choose Mac OS X or Windows 2000 or XP. Then click on Download iTunes.
