I'll cut to the chase on this one.
Trying to find out if the customer is connected through usb or ethernet.
"So do you have a network card on your computer?"
Customer: "Is that anything like a credit card?"
Kansas Cities finest I say.

Tell him yes, and in order to get it working you'll need his credit card details :)

Hahaha, sounds like the majority of teachers at my school :P. I swear I'm pulled out of class to help teachers with their computer problems at least three times a day.

Lol, we have this language lab in our school with all these computers, which cost god knows how many 10's of thousands of dollars, and it never works and all the spanish and french teachers have no idea how to work it. It's pretty hillarious sometimes but it's a waste of time -.-

Well, you know what I always say:
"If what you're supposed to be doing in class is a waste of time, it's probably better than anything else you could be doing."
because most classes are really stupid and tedious. >_<

Hahaha, there's a bit of irony :P. A stupid class?
I agree that class can be boring, and very tedious, but I do believe that every class has a point, and you can learn something in every class you attend, regardless of what it is. I don't mind class. What I mind is when teachers take my class time, and spend it talking about things that don't apply to the course in any sort of way. I don't take English class so I can learn about the Super String Theory :P.

What the hell is the "super string theory"?
WeekendLazyness

It's a theory that states that essentially all matter is made up of one dimentional vibrating strings. With this theory 11 dimentions are possible. Scientists are also trying to develop the universal equation from it, linking gravity, the electromagnetic force, and strong and weak atomic forces into one equation.

It will be the biggest advance in physics since relativity-- which will be proved wrong to a point.

Yeah, it's really the coolest stuff ever. If you're at all interested, here's the basics on the official site:

Something that's really interesting IMO is 'dark matter'. I haven't researched it for a few years, but what I remember is that Dark matter is all of the matter in the universe that is at 0* Kelvin or something. Or it might be matter that isn't light up by any light source. I don really remember, but it has a lot to do with Black Holes.

IMO dark matter was created because astronomers had to make up something to explain why their calculations were coming up so short of their estimates.

yeah and if you want to know some more, it seems fenguin had a lot of knowledge on this topic adn he posted some of it on the thread I am linking to. The link is

It's a theory like any other. You have a better idea? Go down to CalTech and tell those idiots what to do then.
You make it sound like you're comparing dark matter to the "cosmological constant." Don't. The C.C. was created by Eistein to counteract his equations. Dark matter was theorized to explain the gaps in equations that have been been on-the-ball time and time again.
