HEYHEYHEY!
I'm going to be making a UMS game using WC3's World Editor, and I need some tips. BEFORE SOME MOD MOVES THIS THREAD TO MAPS AND MODS, this thread is for opinions about my game only, not about actually making the game. Thanks. As I just stated, please post opinions here about my game and the lore and races and stuff, and please help me with the actual creation of the game in the Maps and Mods Foundry. Thanks again.
OK, the game I'm making has no name yet (sorry), but it will be an RTS just like SC and WC3 (but no heros (sorry again)). I already have 4 races in mind and have thought up some of the units:

First race: UHA (United Human Alliance). These guys are the original humans from Earth and want to exterminate their humanoid bretheren (the Nomads (more on them later)) from the face of the universe. These guys are the 2nd best in technology-research, and have some great weapons (will be using mainly Human units for the base).
Units: Flash Trooper (basic infantry) Drill Tanks (tanks that can burrow and move around while burrowed), Fleet Cruisers (giant battleships), Nuclear Bombarders (shoot mini-nukes out of their cannons (based off Mortar Teams), and Beam Knights (guys riding on bikes with Beam Swords). That's all I got for these guys.

Next on the list: the Aliens (that isn't their final name help me out on this one). These guys invade our galaxy because their sun exploded (like ours did 500 years before the game took place) and need to steal our new Sun, but they first have to exterminate the UHA and the Nomads. The 'aliens' have the most advanced technology out of all of the races (for the most part), but they have to make a tribute (15%) when harvesting resources (because it is lost due to their inferior mining equipment), but I think their units will be averagely cheaper than the rest of the races. I think I will base this race of the Night Elf bases.
Units: Haven't thougt of any yet (this is my least fav race at the moment) will update soon when I think of some.

Now this is my most fav race: the Nomads!! This race of Humans has been neglected by society by sticking up for the little guys. So they migrated to Neptune, and have been under attack for centuries. This race's buildings can move!! B4 u guys call me a copier, they crawl around not fly like the Terrans. But these guys have the 3rd worst technology but make up for it in accuracy and skill. The bases will be based on the Orcs.
Units:(I thought up a ton), Blade Troopers (little guys with big beam swords), Sharpshooters (guys with big Sniper Rifles and you can upgrade them so they deal 50% health of damage!), Bikers gunners riding on hover bikes), Helis (guys in helicoptors shooting down fiery missles), and Stealth Bombers (planes that don't show up on the radar and can cloak, but can only attack ground with bombs.
Sorru outta time for the last race (Dinosaurs) but I'll get to it when I have time.

OK, this is a continuation from my first post, and completing the race profiles.

The final race: the Dinosaurs. These guys got dragged out of their plane (their past dimension) and taught the art of war by the Aliens after the first Battle. They became smarter and even gained some genetic genes from their Alien bretheren. They became fast allies and the Aliens manipulated the Dinosaurs to help them take over the galaxy. The Dinosaurs have the least technology, but have some pretty amazing abilities to compensate (evolution, poisons, etc.). These guys will use the Undead base.
Units: Scavenger (resource guy), Raptor (meele that can upgrade to Feral Raptor), Pterodactyl (flying meele unit), Stegosaurus (seige unit, useful for killing walls), Tyranosaurus (Most powerful meele unit in game, can get Mortal Wounds upgrade), Dragon (heavy air, effective on buildings), and the spitting lizards (forgot the name, but they are ranged and can get poison attack).
Ya thats it. Any advice?

You will need a lot of models and animations for this task. Are you going to do it all by yourself?

Well, any help would be appreciated. I was planning on starting this weekend (when our Christmas Break begins). Thanks for the offer though.

Thanks for the offer though. What offer? ;)

I could help, but this would require a huge load of work.
You would do better to call this a total conversion. Not a RTS game. If you call it an RTS game, people will think you are doing it from scratch.

Ya it would require a lot of work, I may try some stuff w/ the World Editor first to get my feet wet. I was pretty good with the SC one. Is the WC3 one any harder?
Ya, I might try that tutorial u made on the Maps and Mods forums, but I think I may need a little more experience first before making a conversion. About the offer, I just naturally assumed.:D Allright, then, if that be the case, I may need some time to get aquainted with the World Editor, so it may not start this weekend as expected.
NOW I can say thanks for the offer legally!

It would require more work that you can ever think about. I am fluent with Starcraft map editor because it is quite simple once you grasp it but the Warcraft editor, frankly, scares me. I would help but I don't rellly know how to.
