I was fiddling around in Photoshop the other day, and came out with some new sigs. I've got a regular one, and an inverted color one. Which one is better, if any?

LifeLines:

The regular:

The inverted:
http://www.yoxio.com/images.php?id=18394

--------------------------------------------------------------------

LifeSigns:

Here's them, completely redone:

Regular:
http://www.yoxio.com/images.php?id=18460

Inverted:
http://www.yoxio.com/images.php?id=18458

-------------------------------------------------------------------
More fun with Photoshop:

-SunScape. Just some effects, really.

http://www.yoxio.com/images.php?id=18866
-Grayscale Sunscape.

C&C is welcome. Also, I kinda rushed these.

The top one is definately better. I like the little "lifelines", but I feel that the picture as a whole is a little bit boring; maybe doing something interesting with the text would help to improve the overall image?

Dude, green/blue/teal on black is better than anything anyday. Just look here (http://homepage.mac.com/doyle/al2d2/home.html)! [Shameless ad]

I'd say the original, though the thing where the two "lifelines" touch doesn't look to great, it doesn't really fit in, so to say. Maybe redo it? Or just make the colours of the two lifelines slowly change into the other.

And like Schwitzer said, other then those it's a bit 'plain' so maybe add a background of some sort?

I'm completely redoing the entire thing into something completely new. It's coming along great! ^_^

Done and done. I just sharpened the text a bit. Thanks Rhino!

Your edit is a bit too blurry IMO, Rhino. Makes it much less pleasing to the eyes. I liked ZDS's original of that better.

Edit: The sharpen makes it look even worse, like it's 50-ish quality on JPEG compression. Yech.

I think the main concept was having a good contrast. I once read in a book, designers try to contrast between hard and soft, dark and light, sharp and smooth and so on... so I just added a little glow and increased the intensity and contrast.

And I would work on a less blurry version, but I'd like to help Geno out *hint* *hint* (see my sig)

whoa, where did you find the tutorial? =P

Why did you have to make an inverted version of every one of those lifeline thingys?

Say, how'd you go about making those things in Photoshop (http://homepage.mac.com/doyle/al2d2/crystalFuzz-desktops.html) [Shameless ad]?

Why did you have to make an inverted version of every one of those lifeline thingys?

Because they look cool. =P

Instead of continually making "shameless ad"s, how about you put a link to your site in your signature? It's getting annoying.

Graeme

Indeed, the Sunscape is a great improvement! Just be careful with the lens flare. When it's just thrown in without any other blending or adjustments it can look a bit sloppy.

However, in this case it doesn't look that bad at all. Nice.

I've remade the SunScape with, in my opinion, better text. Tell me which one's better!

Hahaha, just kidding. Tutorials are a good way to get started. Just try to put a little pizaz into your stuff so they aren't exactly alike.

"Hahahahahahahahahahahah" =P

Guys, I'm learning. I'm mostly trying to learn all of the effects and commands in Photoshop, and tutorials are the best way to do that. Plus, I didn't exactly copy the entire tutorial. I just used them to get started.

Anyways, I'm a newbie. Who gives a flying shit if I use tutorials to help me? I made them. I can call them my own.
