Starcraft Grahpics

Ok, I want to change the format of my starcraft graphics to warcraft 3 graphics. How would I go about doing that? What kind of program for writing c or doing graphics could do it like this http://sc2.fargus.com/albums/wall/battlecr_wall.jpg

Also how would I go about creating a new unit in starcraft? They told me it was hard and would have to know the knowledge of atleast 6 programs.

1. You'll need to make totally new graphics to convert them to warcraft 3.

2. I'm getting fed up with this question. you can replace heros (people like kerrigan who have their own grphics are best) but you can't make a totally new unit.

remember that it took blizzard, a big company with many people, about 4 years to do it.

in theory, everything is possible, the big quastion is will you manage to inplument it?
I say, no, and I don't care joining the bet and saying that even within 10 years, you, alone, won't create a singal new unit.

think of it that way, if you already spent 2 years of your life in studying C and C++, you have a graphical talent, and a spare time of 10 years, you can earn 100$ AND become the most famous SC modder ever in one shot :D



my point is, that I totaly agree with deezed, if even such talented ppl as BSTRhino, Stealty_death, UED77, and much more couldn't do this, don't be that sure that you can.
and again, if you succed creating a new unit in SC, I send you my credit card.

I like ure style drummer but ya, its most likely impossible, I never saw Compleaty New units in any custom/mode I ever played befor , like 20. Im compleating a new custom ive been working on for 2 months, the only new unites, are the edited ones.

The game has been out like for 7 years and no moder expert ever knows how to do it.

Well, rumor has it that theres a program that can read more from an .MPQ file, I'm not sure of what the program is, but it's rather hard to use...

You can create a brand new unit, but it is currently limited to only Starcraft v1.07. Trying to create one in 1.11b will require all the offsets to the game, and then apply them to an existing program that already can create new units.

If you know ASM and have the offsets to the .dat files and the Starcraft.exe you can do anything. But the only person who does know the version 1.11b offsets, has decided to retire and not give them out because with these offsets you can do anything you want with the game. E.G. a hack that could totally destory the way the game is played.

If i read Stealthy Death's post correctly, is that u can creat new units, but only in v1.07.

You can make ure mode and tell people to repatch thier game to v1.07.

players won't have to replace patches and you will save yourself a hell of a lot of time.

It is possible, there is a program already made that can do it, however, its for 1.07 Starcraft. However, you can download the files and update them to 1.11b, but it would take expert programming skills and alot of patience.
