Starcraft 2

I was working on a modded game of starcraft and I started to think. If its this easy to edit starcraft broodwar pictures, text, credits, scenarios, sounds, and graphics. Why don't we make our own starcraft 2? I mean why doesn't a group get together and acutally make a fan made starcraft 2? Has this crossed anyones mind at all?

I believe that this is already being done, although, those WERE just rumors I believe. Although, due to many limits it would still be the same StarCraft in the end. For instance, they would still be 2D, and all the units would work the same pretty much.
