Which one do you like better? Do you like reg or BW? I really didnt like Broodwar it is still uneven. But I love regular starcraft it is so much better the new units made it really weird to me though. But tell me what you think. I know this has nothing to do with SCII but I just wanna know what you think is better.

im a fan of BW the protoss just got cooler and having seen the dark templar in SC it was cool to finally be able to make them and the corsair fix was nice too but the dark archon *tut* *tut*
but i didn't have to wait for the expansion and wasn't that used to SC1 since i got both as a package

I liked sc better it was just simple and easey to play. Brood war makes everything way to complicated there are backstabers and other stupid crap the missions get repedative. i mean they kill fenix and you dont get to use raynor cmon thats no fun raynor was the coolest of them all and they dont let you uses him its just not fair

i prefer Brood War because the new units add a new perspective to the game.... and the Protoss that briefed you in SC dies..... and lurkers...... lots and lots of lurkers..... *requisitions more periods*

Facing off against human opponents is undoubtedly better on Brood War. The new units add for more diverse attack forces while new upgrades increase the usefulness of older units. Plus there's a plethora of new maps to use! As far as toying with computers goes StarCraft reigns king. The new units really do it in for the Terran who save up gas to get Medics before attacking, not to mention the Protoss either attack with twelve Zealots of one Dark Templar as opposed to quick three Zealot rushes in StarCraft. Don't ask me about thr Zerg, though I'd surmise that they wouldn't waste money on Devourers.

Broodwar is way better. The new spells for protoss add a whole new startagy to SC, i mean maelstorm can keep you alive vs zerg and feedback can keep you alive during a bc attack. im not a big fan of MC though.
Lurkers help defend my base soooo much, they have kept me alive and brought me to a win in many, many meele games, just 3 or 4 of um help out soo much.
Medics have brought a whole new aspect to marines and firebats. it makes those units actually worth making. and medics can blind oobsevers, so its easier to nuke. and any affects on your units you can get off, like parasite.

ahh i just read that U CALL THE DEVOURERS A WAIST OF MONEY!! omg that is one of the stupidest things i have heard. obviously u have no idea what acid spores are. for every acid spore, ur unit has less armor. so 9 acid spores on a bc drops its armor to -5. so a hydra would do 15 damage to it. ( this is all without upgrades).

I am just saying that Devourers arent that great. Ya they make Defense weaker but there not as effective as 1 defiler and 30 hydra. Now toss with there dark temp and there corsairs got the best deal out of the expansion. Toss lovers love BW it seems. But Zerg did get the lurker. Still didnt even it out for Terran and Zerg. Toss is the strongest because of the new units in BW.

not to mention toss got a THIRD GROUND UNIT: teh dark archon. =P
so the protoss have a big advantage in BW.

Hmmm... 1 devourer = Mutalisk (100 minerals and 100 gas) that has morphed into a Devourer (Which is another 50 gas and 150 minerals) which is one unit (Totalling 150 gas and 250 minerals) while 30 Hydras (At 25 gas and 75 minerals apiece) along with one Defiler (Defiler costs 25 minerals and 150 gas) and then to upgrade plague, I take it is what you need, which is another 200 minerals and gas)... That makes the odds as follows:
1 Devourer which is 250//150 which is minerals and gas, respectively
1 Defiler with 30 Hydras, which is 2325//900 (Unless you want that plague that was mentioned earlier, which brings it to 2525//1100)
Those are the stack ups.
Hmmm... Is it me, or do those Hydras and Defiler cost a LOT more? Hmmm... The fact remains, that what you stated was very uneven. Think of it as this: 1 Devourer can attack a Battlecruiser about 4 to 5 times, and make it fire a LOT slower. You can bring in only three Hydralisks, and actually win (At least in my head, I see it happening) due to the fact that 1. The BC fires slower, 2. The BC now has lower defense, and 3. The Devourer already did about 100 damage to it. That means that you can use a minimum amount of force, and beat the biggest air units. Plus, Devourer's make good scouts sometimes, on air maps. You can scout out at a decent speed, and take out any light units you encounter. Also, it's health is high for such a thing (Scouting). I am no Zerg player, but I think the Devourer needs more credit than you give it...
To stay on topic, though, I believe that I like them equally for different things. I think that the original had more of the 'be careful with your units' kind of thing going on. With the expansion, Protoss and Terran had ways around this. Protoss could control units, giving them new possibilities, and Terran gained Medics, which allows you to be less careful with infantry and the like. Zerg gained better defense, with the bringing up of the lurker, and moreover, the Devourer, which when combined with the Guardian, makes them terrible to behold in combat. Original was good, though, because it teaches you the basics of the game, and shows you that three different races can have similar strategies, or totally different strategies. You can mass capital ships or mass minor ships, or mass light units, etc. Or you can use the 'balanced force' method, and create the 12 Marines, with 6 Firebats and 6 Ghosts all for one small assult. The Marines do the actual damage, Ghosts Lockdown, and eliminate light units, while Firebats burn down hordes upon hordes of units and buildings.
Both of them were good, but I really can't decide which was better... o.O

I was just playing with a friend. He lost his BW cd, so i went to nomral SC. we duled 1vs1 on Lost Temple. at first I was terran. the no medics really sucked ass
Then I was zerg. I knoticed he didnt have very many detecters. but NO LURKS, so that really pissed me off. Last game he was zerg and I was protoss. I couldent make dts... I dont just mass dts, but I wanted 2 things with my DARK ARCHONS. i wanted maelstorm, stopping all his units, and I wanted a drone to MC.
although i won all 3 games :) I think BW is way better
