This is a thread for people to discuss their holiday tales, thoughts and expriences. Lemme roll first:
)its more of a discussion than a story thing, so i think this should be here and not in CC)
Mtank's Brush with Christianity
im not christian, but i like in a chirstian college, and thus am exposed to elaborate christmas celebrations.
One christmas evening, many years ago when i was just a wee lad, i was invited to a christmas "party" by a family of hardcore christians. (we're talking real hardcore here, they actually go to church twice on sunday. two different ones.)
"party"! hah!
it turned out to be a trap. As soon as we walked in, the doors were shut. Audio systems, charts and bibles were pulled out. The sermon had begun.
For the next 3-4 hours, they tried to convert us. We had so sing songs about how we were sinners. We had to take quizzes on the timeline of the life if Christ. It was awful. We were sent home broken and shaken, with mini-bibles and christianity pamphlets.
what was so frustrating was that we had wasted our whole christmas evening. (none of us decided to convert, to my knowledge)
looking back, im annoyed. They tried to convert their son's friends! what the hell is that? My mother tells me that she actually went up to them one day and said "stop trying to convert my children!"
ive never thought of another christian without thinking of that day.
meh...whose next? :)
