So I was thinking today about what I wanted for Christmas and guess what; I drew a blank. Pretty much the only thing I can think of is the Nintendo DS. Anyways, I figure I'd see what all you guys wanted for Christmas and hopefully I will get some ideas.

So list away. ;)

I've been blanking as well. To tell you the truth, I don't really need anything, other than assurance I'm going to get into University for the program I want ;). If my parents could buy me that . . .

Humm... there is one thing that I do want. It is a 5 year scholarship for University. I have about $500 saved up in my big 'ol bank-o-count and it sure isn't enough to pay for school. I also want some new clothes... I have nice clothes but, there isn't enough for me to take to school in the fall. I'm thinking I'm just going to bring my uniform and wear that to school. :P

I also want everyone on here and their families to have a wicked cool christmas and be careful and make sure that next January everyone is back and healthy and happy.

well I wanted an iPod and digital camera. I recently bought a digital camera... awesome! But I won't be getting an iPod - far too expensive for me to buy in the same year :/

1. Nintendo Gameboy DS, with the remake of Mario 64
2. Goldeney: Agent Under Fire
3. A new wallet because mine has literally fell apart
4. Money for a new computer for college

Something like that. But now it's time to go out and get something for the rest of my family as well as a few friends, which means I'm probably going to spend a good 100-200. It's fun to give though, glad I saved up a bit from my paychecks as of late. :)

My main desire for Christmas is an iPod. :D

I'd been about to buy one for myself, but my parents swooped in with, "Er... well if you wait until Christmas..." hehe.

Yeah... I can sure see that happening.

Maybe if I got my learners first....

Writing Secure Code 2nd Edition by Michael Howard and David LeBlanc
Code Complete 2nd Edition by Steve McConnell
Half-Life 2

Maybe a few other things like Ghost Recon 2...not sure yet. I could use some money for the computer I'm building this summer, though. (it'll be either an Athlon 64 or dual Xeon).

Nerd. ;)

A the top of my list is a new processor and new HDs, so I can take my old processor, mobo, and a hard drive or two to build a computer to use as a personal server of sorts. Or something like that.
All I'd really need after that is a case/power supply which doesn't cost that much.
(like I should talk about being a nerd after confessing all that, huh?)

I also asked for a new oboe, but I don't think that's gonna happen, seeing as what I'm asking for is a professional model, which costs ~$6000-7000. *sigh*

I have no list for Christmas either. My bday is two weeks before Xmas, and us December birthday's always get ripped off on gifts. I cannot count the times I've heard "we're gonna just combine bday and xmas this year honey..."

My bday present will be driver's ed (300 bucks is a lot for us), but who knows about Christmas. I don't even know what I'd want to get...

What do I want for Christmas? Hmm maybe a few extra A's on my transcript that I wasn't expecting, a new car, a blowjob under the misteltoe. I'm actually getting new ski boots from my parents this year.

I do. I need to edumacate myself. O_OI think it's good. Books are a tremendous resource, and I think everyone should read a book a week. (Well, I should practice what I preach, but hey who listens to me anyways?) But WW I would advise you to avoid "school textbooks" under publishers like Houghton-Mifflin, Harcourt, McGraw-Hill, etc. Actually you can find some really cool stuff from university presses. Basically all the research that grad students and professors are doing.

I also asked for a new oboe, but I don't think that's gonna happen, seeing as what I'm asking for is a professional model, which costs ~$6000-7000. *sigh*
I'm not in band/orch but I know folks who are and my advice would be to stick to student models while you are in school. Don't purchase a professional model until you are a professional oboe player. And by that point, you should be so good that they will buy or provide the oboe for you to get you to join their group!

I'm pitching $400 for a 51" HDTV which is on sale for only (hah) $1050. At some point my parents will pitch in the rest, after I die from the massive anticipation. I'll have the thing in less than a month, I know that much.

The rest of my Xmas/birthday list (my birthday is 10 days before Xmas. Sigh... I know how you feel GrassDragon)
- 24 - Season 3
- CD Player For My Car
- Fight Club
- Broken Saints
- Dances With Wolves (Director's Cut)

Werewolf, have you ever been to http://www.countrystudies.us/? It's a site full of the US government's reports on the culture, history, society, economics, environment, etc. (pretty much, every aspect of a country) of every country in the world. It doesn't have as much information as an entire book on the country, but it's a lot more free than a book.
