View Full Version : Rich as a Motherfcuker?
To help put Bill Gate's wealth into perspective, here's an interesting little fact.
If Bill gates gave 99% of his estimated 48 Billion Dollar net worth away to charity, he would still have 480 MILLION dollars LEFT.
If he gave away 99.9% of his 480 Million, he would still have $480,000 left.
That's called being richer than a motherfcuker.
By the way, Gates has given 8.3 Billion to charity in the last 2 years alone.

That's called being richer than a motherfcuker. So? He earned the money by founding a good way of making money out of a lucrative software company. (Microsoft used to be lucrative, not anymore though). But Microsoft should make its software a bit more stable.
It would be unfair and disgusting he has so much money if he earned it by letting his employees work in poor working conditions. Or by letting even children work. Not that I can think of software companies who actually do that.By the way, Gates has given 8.3 Billion to charity in the last 2 years alone.Well...That's good, ain't it? As far as I know that could even be more than much governments give to charity.

A net worth of 48 Billion? Wow.
Going by an estimated population of :
U.S. 294,875,810
World 6,403,501,190
14:39 EST Nov 30, 2004
Source (http://www.census.gov/population/www/)
If my calculations are correct, he could give $162 to every person in the US, or $7 to every person in the entire world.
That's called being richer than a motherfcuker. Fully agreed. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Bill Gates is a philanthropist. He is a good guy.
BC: lol.. He just wanted to put into perspective on how rich he really was. But I do give tons of respect to Gates. Atleast he is a rich person that actually gives his money to charities. Like.. actual amounts that can make a big difference. He is one bad dude for that. :)

Most rich people do give insane amounts to charity. Andrew Carnegie was one of the richest men of all time, and he bequeathed an incredible portion of his fortune to various charities, including his own Carnegie Foundation. When I consider that Bill Gates has given more to charity than most people earn in their entire life (last I checked, the average worker will make around $1.4 million before taxes throughout his life), I don't see him as such a bad guy.
Also note that Bill's measly $47 billion has been surpassed by the founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad, who's net worth is now estimated at $53 billion. Talk about large sums...

I heard somewhere that if you compare Bill Gates worth to the net worth of an average American, and then you take the amount an average American has in their couch, Bill Gates should have something like 5 million dollars in his couch.
~Don't Panic
Know what's funny... I bet he does have 5 mil. stashed in his couch for emergencies.
If I found 5 million dollars in my couch I would probably shit myself. haha. I'm happy just finding $5 in my couch. :P

I have to admit that I do have a certain degree of respect for Bill Gates. I mean, it's not just that I use several pieces of his company's software on a daily basis, but he does give a lot to charity. He's not one of those lazy "rich by inheritance" people; he actually has earned his keep.
Not that I'm saying his software is near perfect, though, but hopefully you're all intelligent enough to realise what I'm getting at.

Of course Schwitzer, if not I would lose hope in mankind. I have respect for bill Gates for the reasons already stated, but damn, im happy when I get 20$ a week imagine having 43 BILLION dollars in allowance =\

48 billion... 53 billion... If people with that ammount of money simply gave it all away I would wonder what effects it would have on the economy.
Just give me a few years, soon I will become head of woolworths and expand my empire!

They have something similar to that already in effect. I think it's called Social Security. :)

Your information is incorrect. Ingvar Kamprad has only 18.5 billion making him 14th by Forbes reckoning in the year 2004

Bill is still on top :) Go America. And who's Warren Buffett #2? Never heard of him yet very close to Bill Gate's wealth amount...

I think Gates deserves some respect just for having the brains and the guts to scramble to the top the way he has.
Warren Buffet: Studied under investment guru Benjamin Graham at Columbia. Applied value investing principles to build Berkshire Hathaway into $116 billion (market cap) holding company: insurance (General Re, Geico), substantial stakes in American Express, Coca-Cola, Gillette, Wells Fargo. Also wide assortment of operating companies that tickle Warren's fancy: Fruit of the Loom, Pampered Chef, NetJet.

He (Warren Buffet) doesn't spend his money a lot. But I think he is going to donate almost ALL of it when he dies. Or so I heard.

Lol i really wouldnt call $47 BILLION dollars "MEASLY"
