Bill gates did not invent the internet!! (im pretty sure you know this, but all my friends think that he did) The internet was actualy invented by Swedish scientists.Out of the many "facts" I know are wrong, this annoys me the most. The internet was developed in the United States, mostly by ARPA. Thus, the earliest incarnation of the internet was called ARPAnet. This network grew with the help of many American scientists (notably Vint Cerf, who invented the TCP/IP protocol). What you refer to as being invented by Swedish scientists is the World Wide Web, which was invented at CERN in France by Tim Berners-Lee (who is English, not Swedish).

BTW: This is the first webpage ever created. Originally located at http://info.cern.ch, it has been archived.
