View Full Version : Calling all strategist's.
Ok guys i need help. It seems to me that every time i play against a NE player i get owned. I need a strategy that will work for me against a NE player. I play Human BTW. If anyone has any tips or replays(preferably) that could help me out please post them here. Thanks guys

are u going rifle caster ? that could explain why u aint able to beat ne
rifle caster gets raped by bear/dryad
the only sucess against ne as hu for me was to go knight mortar caster against bear/dryad
but rifle caster does do well against mass hunts if u ff hunts
hero against ne would have to be AM, others are just to slow when running away
Hola, Louay,
Here's a few strats that work commonly on most average NE players.
1. Mass tier 3 meele when versing mass ranged. NE players, if they don't go air, most likely go upgraded tier 1, mass Dryads, mass DotC's, or other range masses in tiers 2 and 3. Mass meele (with a bit of AA) will slaughter most NE ranged armies. (Tauren +Zerks works well for this). Good hero choices would be the usual casting hero @ tier 1, and meele heros @ tiers 2 and possibly 3.
2. When versing mass Chimaeras or other NE air, the best way to go is massed air. A group of Wyvrens can take down a group of chims ASAP, and Gargs do it twice as fast. That's not forgetting Gryphon Riders, as they can kill really fat, too. Other easy ways to kill Chims are:
-Web, Ensnare, or Shackles, then let the ground forces work
-Dryads or other magic-attack-immune range units.
3. For the almost-unstoppable mass-Huntresses army, a combonation of things are able to take them out. Play on the defensive if you think that they're gonna go mass Hunts. Hide your units behind your buildings
(this is where good base layout comes in) and let the enemy come to you. I'll edit this post if I get any more ideas.

Would a few extra breakers be a good counter to bear/dryad? I mean, the feedback damage would rape them, right? anyway, if they go hunts at all, rifle caster is niice..it's a natural tech to both knights and gryphons, so you can pwn them in a variety of ways in t3. but if you get them in t2, especially with rifle/caster, you should be able to do quite a bit of damage, as there aren't bears till t3. I like the MK vs. NE, especially if they go hunts. clapping hunts is verry nice, especially if you have rifles pegging them left and right, too. Heheh. just my two cents for what they're worth.

~Louay What (specifically) does this NE player do?

See my layout thread (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=6280) for details.
Rifle/caster is the way that I take down mass Huntresses.
Sorceresses cast Slow on the opposition, and then it is easy for the Riflemen to shoot down the enemy.
If you don't have casters, then Riflemen with some melee should do it. By the time the huntresses get past the melee, the Riflemen would have killed all of them.

I'm getting rather attached to a rifle/caster build that uses footies for meat until you can get SB's, then they act as meat for rifles/sorc. From your two sanctums, you crank SB's from one, and alternate priests and sorcs from the other. (You could probably do 2 sorcs/priest if you wanna, too). You'll have fewer sorcs, but I think the trade's worth it. Especially against bears, thanks to the SB's killer feedback damage. How many people actually use most of the bear's mana before changing forms? I use bears a lot, and I rarely run out of mana with them in bear form. With feedback damage, I believe that puts the SB's attack at like...30-ish? Plus they keep bears off the rifles and sorcs. Throw in a few mortar teams if they back the bears with dryads, and you're sittin' in high cotton.
