View Full Version : Annoying Guy Problem

Okay, Nissa and Geno know about this cuz I told them and now it's time I should tell ya'llz as well--
Okay, a few weeks before I went to Peru, I ran into a family that I went to church with YEARS ago. I mean, I was like 7 or 6 when they saw me last. When the mother (Elia) saw me, she was like, "Omg! You've grown up so much Gracie!! Look at how beautiful you are!!"
lolz--I was like, "Wow! It's good to see you again Elia!"
I then told her what I'm doing in life and how my walk with God is going and all that good stuff :)
Alrighty--Anywayz! She starts hinting at me about how she wants me to e-mail her son and blah blah blah--I alrighty do not like how this is going. I just casually nod my head and smile not thinking anything of it.
Well, Elia and I exchange phone numbers and I go on my way and she goes hers. My step-mom and dad stay in touch with them though, so that's how I saw her cuz I went to go and visit my dad.
Okay! My dad, step-mom, little brother, and I go out to eat when my step-mom tells me that Elia called her and told her that she wanted me to marry her son......o_0 I was like, "...NO. I already know what God has been speaking to me about my future husband and I am not about to get with this fool!"
I mean, I was about to take a bite of my Chinese food and I just instantly froze when my step-mom said that. No thank you! I have no idea where the heck this guy is in his faith life, I don't know if he's involved in church, I don't know how he treats his parents, I don't know about his goals in life--So whatever!
Well, my step-mom tells me that I don't have to marry this guy, she's just telling me what Elia said. I was like, "Shoot--I do NOT want to have a bf right now. I gotta grow in God first before I get my man." ;)
Anywayz, the next night, Elia calls me and asks me for my e-mail address. I thought she wanted it, later on she tells me it's for her son.....:| Well, I just figure that he won't e-mail me so I shrug it off.
Boy am I wrong. Here's his first e-mail to me:
"hey you this is robert okay so call me"
I respond back telling him about church and nothing about myself because I don't know this guy and I don't want him knowing anything about me. The last time I saw him I was like 7 and he was like 10 or something. Well, here is what he writes back:
"hey you what up?hey did you gey my pice do you have a here is eney way"
*He inserts a pic of himself here*
"so if you what to know who tall I am 6'2 and iam all man
pice"
Okay what the heck is that? I know what he is trying to say but dang man--It's like he can't comprehend the english language to spell correctly! This is one of my biggest peeves and man is it annoying. Anywayz, I totally ignore him after that e-mail. I was like, "Okay you're whack. Telling me 'I'm all man', what the heck is that?? Talk about EWWW!"
Well, I have decided to ignore him when he sends me another e-mail:
"r you doing ???? my mom is so cool send me your pice"
......
Okay......Anywayz, heck no that boy is NOT getting my pic. He can learn what I look like from how his mother describes me, lolz :P
Well, this next e-mail is the last straw:
"is it going there I hop you got my emails so I doing good but I want dance . and I what to go out with you and go have dinner or some thing so.if you can call me at 1(951)555-5555 and I want to dances all night so becuas I like to got to go becuas I dance right now so by"
I swear this dude talks like a n00b!!!! -_- Btw, I changed the phone number cuz it's not my place to put his real number over the net, lolz.
He sent me this e-mail last night.......:| I am like so disgusted. Oh yeah baby, those spelling errors turn me on....o_0.
Whatever. His mom like sooo wants us to get together and I sooo DON'T want to get with him. I know that my future husband is definately NOT him because it's someone else. God wouldn't make me get with someone that I do not desire.
Ya know, I'm attracted to guys by their faith life and not looks. It's how I am. This guy isn't even cute, I was like, "Okay you aren't cute, you need to learn how to spell, and I bet you're a mama's boy! No thank you homie--Leave me alone!!"
I swear ya'llz--This is very annoying right now. How the heck can I tell this guy to back off and leave me alone? I don't wanna be mean but at the same time I want to be bold and let him know I mean business.
Thanks a lot peeps!

Well that can be annoying I guess.
The good thing is that from what you have said, is that your dad and step mom aren't exactly forcing the idea onto you.
I was going to suggest that you get to know the guy, maybe do some work together related to spreading of your faith. See if he feels as strongly about Christ as you do, and all this not from a standpoint of fishing for a boyfriend but simply as getting to know another person. Then at least you wuold have been able to see if it could move in that direction at all.
But looking at the emails that he has sent and the way he's getting his mom to set you up, it really does seem like a bad idea to try to get to know him. I mean the guy doesn't have the courtesy of calling you up himself to ask for your mail ID. And are those emails he sent verbatim?...He would have done better if he'd called you up instead of emailing.
Now you really have to ask yourself some questions:
Do you really want to get to know him better as a person ?
Are you intrested in knowing where he is in his faith ?
Would you be intrested in him at all as a boyfriend ?
How is your family with the guy's mom suggesting that you two get together ?
I'm guessing that the answer to the first three questions is NO.
Well then, you will have to be firm if that is the case. Some people cannot take a hint and have to be told directly and firmly. Send him a mail stating in no ambiguous terms that you don't have a desire to initiate/have/maintain a relationship with him at all. Also let your family know of this descision and judging of what you have said they should support you.
If the answer to the first two questions are yes or maybe, then the situation would become tricky.
Communicate with him and discuss your ideas on the Church and so on. If you want to do this then I'd not suggest the net as, if the guy is not serious he can just copy paste something off the net or type what someone tells him.Use the phone.
If things turn out for the best then you will have yourself a nice friend to discuss ideas and issues.
However IMHO this can become quite tricky as I said. Most likely he would just fake it just to get in your good books judging by his mails.

I can't really say much but this guy sounds kinda scary. But if he has links with your family there is probably nothign to worry about... (nevermind me)
It couldn't hurt to see the guy as a friend, see how he is in person. What may be a problem is hurting Elia 's feelings if you decide not to talk to (robert?). I am sure you could find a way to politley tell this guy to back off.

I say don't do anything to try to get to know him. Anything you try and do to become "friends" will just seem like you like him and their plan is working. No offense, but his mom sounds crazy. She wants you to marry her son? After you've never even seen him before. And this is after not having seen her for a long time.
That's just too weird.

Are you in some kind of a cult PChick? Because from the way you talk, it sounds like you've been brainwashed. What "church" do you go to? Do they have a website so I could investigate your faith further? Plz and Thx.
Tell him (and Elia) specifically that you are NOT interested. If they persist, call the police for a restraining order. It's best not to let these things go out of hand. Be careful.

First of all, Xenon, Christianity is no cult, some people just take religion to an extreme.
In any case, I would suggest you get the hell away from this guy. I have heard about these kind of girl depraved psychos on internet horror stories all the time. You should try to get this guy as far away from you as possible. This guy will only take being with you as a sign of "she likes me!" and God only knows how far he will try to go to "win you over".
Is it just me, or does this guy have "future stalker in training" written all over him? You should try to find a way to turn him off of you somehow, which will be difficult as he sounds like the desparate nutjob. I would suggest that you hang out with him, and try to show great interest in everything that he, and any person would find dull as hell, and whatever he shows interest in, you tell him that you think it's boring, or whatever. Sure it's a little cruel, but I just can't shake the feeling that this guy is gonna be some hyper, overly girl depraved stalker in a rather short time.

All you have to do is call up Elia and tell her you're really not ready to have a relationship right now, just like you said in your post: "I do NOT want to have a bf right now. I gotta grow in God first before I get my man." I don't think you'll have any problem saying it politely. You don't even have to talk to the kid, just talk to his mammy and ask her to tell him your intentions.
But yeah it is interesting. Nice story :)

You know what Xenon, you need to stop being such a jerk, especially to someone like PC99 - just fom what I've seen in the past few days of being on, she has proven to me that she is a better christian than most people ever aspire to become. If her being selective of who will one day become her husband makes her seem as though she belongs in a cult, then, by all means, throw me in too, because your life partner is someone who is chosen by the measure of their worth and if all that this other guy is looking for is to get laid, PC99 doesn't need that. She see's that's all he probably wants and I commend her for her choice not to consider someone like that.
PC99: You shouldn't let people's opinions get you down about your choices that are based in faith. People will say things, mostly people in the church. The bible says that (paraphrased) "many will accuse; many will be your brothers from the church" and that your decisions that the Lord has guided you in will always be right, regardless of what others say.
Xenon: I understand that you are upset that this scenario reminds you of a similar problem you once had trying to rope in a g/f, but you seriously should be more open minded to faith and try not to in the future make generalized preconceived opinions about someone based on the religion they are associated with...

Though he sounds.. scary, You should at least try to see him once, PC. You have never met him, therfore you cant exactly judge him at the moment. This might sound stupid, but you never know if he is just nervous, something like that.

Are you joking? What if the guy is some sick bastard and tries to rape her or something vile like that? Don't give BS advice like that... You don't HAVE to meet someone to judge them... she's not interested and that's that.

Haha, when i first read it I thought he was saying "Here's my Piece". Now having my mind in the gutter as I do, the first thing that pops into my mind.... oh forget it. Needless to say it is NOT PG-13 material.
But yeah, what they said. His mom can't force you to be with somebody you don't like. Good luck :)

I would suggest being upfront. Beating around the bush, can lead to hard feelings and confusion later on. It's better to get this resolved at the front of it. Talk to Elia, and tell her in a straight-forward way that you're not in the position to be with an idio- guy at the moment.
Being a guy, if I was stupid enough to do what this guy did, I think it would be the best to have some girl say, "Not Interested." rather than beat around the bush.
Just my opnion. Have fun.. if that's possible.

My advice, tell him your not interested, and tell his mom your not looking for a relationship right now and that first you want to deepen your relationship with god first (As you said)
You know what Xenon, you need to stop being such a jerk, especially to someone like PC99
Why? What makes her more special? Because she's a religious fanatic with a screw loose?
If her being selective of who will one day become her husband makes her seem as though she belongs in a cult, then, by all means, throw me in too
It isn't her selectivity or lack of it that makes her seem like a cult member, it's the obsessive preoccupation with saying things like; "how my walk with God is going" or, "I was like, '...NO. I already know what God has been speaking to me about my future husband and I am not about to get with this fool!' " or, "I gotta grow in God first before I get my man". I mean, WTF?!! It's people who talk like that that lived in Waco and Jonestown. Whacko religiously brainwashed nutjobs. Guess what? They called themselves churches too.
So again, I reiterate my request to know what "church" she belongs to.
LinkTheGameFreak: Please don't play out your scenarios as my scenarios. I have been happily married for the last 13 years, and when I was single I never had to try hard to get the girls. How old are you son? For all I know you could be one of my bastards. --Yes, I have a few.

Why? What makes her more special? Because she's a religious fanatic with a screw loose? I am afraid i will have to pick a fight with you over this one Xenon. First of all, that was uncalled for. Second, one could easily say the same for you. What kind of person would go around insulting other people based on the fact that they were not using 100% "proper" english on every single post? One could easily call her zeal over religion no less or greater than your zeal to bash and go through a several PM bout with some who you have never met before, just because they weren't using english like a professor? (and yes, Gia was actually afraid you were, in her words, "some psycho who would jump over the counter and beat the living shit of out a McDonald's worker just because they said "here's yer change mista")
It's people who talk like that that lived in Waco and Jamestown. Whacko religiously brainwashed nutjobs. Guess what? They called themselves churches too. If you want to know what a real "wackjob" church looks like, I am sure GiaDragoness can tell you all about how fucked up religion can be. Tell me: How is PC being zealous to follow and do the will of Christ, you know, the guy who is the supposed "savior and God of the world", any worse than someone who goes around attacking people based on their spelling and gramatical errors, no matter how small or pointless?
Has PC ever forced her religion onto you? I don't think so. (I will leave it to anyone willing to go through the records and find it out if they wish, before i state anything solid on this.) From what I have read, you are all willing to bash, insult, and flame people just because of a simple error on a computer keyboard.
I think it is unfair to judge PC and call her the same type of person that were responsible for burning people at wooden stakes on accusations of being witches. The difference between the Christian spirit that she shows, and the "religous" attitude people a few hundred years ago showed, is that PC knows, and shows, love, mercy, and compassion, before judgement and righteousness. When Sandy gets back, I'll have her give you a firsthand tour of how the religious idiots in her town are. Man, she's going to have a field day with this one.
How old are you son? For all I know you could be one of my bastards. --Yes, I have a few. First of all, I don't think age has a damn thing to do with the strengths of a person's point. At least not in this argument. Second, I have a hard time imagining your wife would want to stick with you if she knew you love to sleep around and are unfaithful. What kind of image does this portray of you? Even if this was just a cheap joke at the expense of the moment, I really can't imagine how your children would respond to something like that.

I'm afraid I will never, ever understand a christians mind...
probly better off.
Anyways PC... tell him that you are not interested. Because, after all. 'Honesty is the best policy'.
The problem with most of your argument Seraph, is that you're basing it on heresay from a friend of yours. Your argument is hereby declared null and void on the issue of correct spelling and grammar. The difference between PC's zeal and mine is that mine is a secular zeal, while hers is a religious one. No doubt she believes everyone who doesn't believe what she does is going to hell. Let me ask you, are our jewish, muslim, hindu, buddhist, or other agnostic and/or aethiest friends going to hell because they don't believe in Jesus? I bet she believes they are. LOL.
I grew up in a cult. It's probably one of the reasons I am so anti-religion. Don't lecture me on the effects of religion, because I know all about them. Jesus is not the "lord and saviour of the world". Not my world at any rate.
I like how you missed my point entirely about the "son" thing. Asking his age wasn't to negate his argument or demean his intelligence based on his age... it was meant to exclude or include the possibility that he could be one of my bastard children. FYI: I've always been faithful to my wife. I was speaking of relationships I've had before I met her. I have been sexually active since I was 8. One of the only good things about the cult I was in was their natural attitude towards sex and nudity.
If PC can post her opinions about Jesus and the "Lord" or whatever she calls her god, I don't see why I can't mock and ridicule those beliefs as part of my own opinion. Every time she makes a post with something religious in it, I am going to be right there to give my 2 cents worth. This is a forum for posting opinions isn't it?
I am not being personal in any event. I don't care one bit about PChick as a person to make this personal. I am stating my own opinions in general. Of course, I am going to address them to the person making their own opinions in contradiction of my own opinions. It's what people on forums do.
I think it is unfair to judge PC and call her the same type of person that were responsible for burning people at wooden stakes on accusations of being witches
I don't recall calling her that. Could you point it out to me? I believe I refered to her as brainwashed and a possible cult member. I still haven't heard what church she belongs to. Is she shy? Is she hiding her light under a bushel? Ashamed of her affiliations? Why hasn't she said what church?
You might not like my opinion. You might not like me. I can live with that. However, I have just as much right as anyone else to post my opinions here. If you don't like my opinions, you can always just add me to your ignore list. You won't see my posts any more. Why don't you do that?
theXenon, you may be an ass some of the time, but damn do you have some very good arguments most of the time. Just though I'd let you know. And I agree with most of the stuff you have said in here.

Xenon dude--Stop. Just please stop. Stop bashing me, everyone else and most of all stop bashing my God.
There is a difference between being blunt and being rude, and you sir--Are being extremely rude. I don't appreciate anything that you are saying at all towards me. I never did anything to you so why have you decided to come down hard on me?
I am in no way ashamed of who I am affiliated with--This is the first time that I've gotten on the computer tonight. I go to Heritage Family Fellowship in Anahiem, California. We are a non-denominational church yet we are Word of Faith based.
Here's the website to my church:
Heritage Family Fellowship (http://heritagefamilyfelliowship.net)
Ya know, if you don't like me because Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life and I choose to live that lifestyle--I'm not about to change for you because you don't like it. You don't know what I felt when I gave my life to Jesus. You don't know the feeling that overcame me when I discovered that Jesus loved me so much that He died for my sins. I know what I've seen when it comes to miracles, signs, and wonders done by God and I know what I've experienced in my walk with God.
Many times has the Lord blessed me because of my faith in Him for when I had a need. You have no idea how far I've come as a person and what I used to be before I made that commitment to give my life to Jesus Christ. You don't know how far my family has come when we all got saved. You don't know anything about me except--That I went to Peru, I did it for Jesus, and I love God.
Don't judge me. You're not Jesus.
Anywayz, as for everyone else who gave me advice--Thank you soo much! I appreciate it! I especially like the one comment about just telling Elia that I AM NOT interested, lolz :P

The problem with most of your argument Seraph, is that you're basing it on heresay from a friend of yours.Your argument is hereby declared null and void on the issue of correct spelling and grammar. Heresay? So you are calling her a liar now are you?
The difference between PC's zeal and mine is that mine is a secular zeal, while hers is a religious one. No doubt she believes everyone who doesn't believe what she does is going to hell. Let me ask you, are our jewish, muslim, hindu, buddhist, or other agnostic and/or aethiest friends going to hell because they don't believe in Jesus? I bet she believes they are. LOL. What the heck are you doing with that "LOL" at the end of your paragraph? Last I knew this was still a serious discussion. She may beleive that those who don't follow Jesus will go to hell, but it has not yet been proven that she forces those beleifs onto others. Can you honestly say you have never forced perfectly correct spelling onto anyone? (even say gia is not included in this argument.) What makes secular zeal anymore right or wrong than religious zeal? Is PC going around sacrificing live creatures to appease dieties we cannot see? Is she going around shouting and damning people because they don't want to acknowledge the word of her God?
I grew up in a cult. It's probably one of the reasons I am so anti-religion. Don't lecture me on the effects of religion, because I know all about them. Jesus is not the "lord and saviour of the world". Not my world at any rate. Precisly, your world, not the world. I was saying it in terms of as if you were to look through someone else's eyes instead of just saying it's religious BS.
It's people who talk like that that lived in Waco and Jamestown. Whacko religiously brainwashed nutjobs. Guess what? They called themselves churches too. So tell me, if not burning witches at the stake (which they did back then) then tell me how were these people "nutobs"? Minus the witchburning and such, I don't seem to recall people from that time being very "nutjob"-ish as opposed to people just speaking about God like they do today. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to how they were nutjobs back then, because if so, I clearly don't know my history well enough.
You might not like my opinion. You might not like me. I can live with that. However, I have just as much right as anyone else to post my opinions here. If you don't like my opinions, you can always just add me to your ignore list. You won't see my posts any more. Why don't you do that? Ignore list? I must have missed the instruction memo. In any case, I perfer not to just run and hide when people insult me, my freinds, or my beleifs. If anyone has a beef with me, or anyone else I stand with, than I perfer to just go at it head on and settle any differences upfront rather than just avoid them, or beat around the bush. Running does'nt solve anything. Of course I ignore an occasional petty insult or such when online, but in any case, we are supposed to be safe from flames, nsults, personal attacks, and such here at warboards. Did anyone miss that memo?
P.S., sorry to turn your thread into a battleground PC. I'll stop now. >,<

So tell me, if not burning witches at the stake (which they did back then) then tell me how were these people "nutobs"? Minus the witchburning and such, I don't seem to recall people from that time being very "nutjob"-ish as opposed to people just speaking about God like they do today. JONESTOWN : People's Temple (http://www.infoplease.com/spot/jonestown1.html)
PC99's "Church" is exactly what I thought it was. An organization whose leaders sole aim is to maintain their expensive lifestyle by holding huge evangelical rallies where they "heal" people and "proclaim the word of Jeee-suhs" etc., etc..
Oh jeeze, this thread is way off topic. We have turned a perfectly good question into a debate about whether PC is a cult driven liar or not. No one has the right to judge people unless they know them personally. Who has the time and energy to sit down at their computer to think of ways to cut other people up because of their personal beliefs.
Back to the real point of the thread, you are in a real bind PC. I couldn't imagine someone sending me creepy e-mails with crazy slang in it. You should print the e-mails off of your computer and show them to this guys mom. She could invest some money into a literacy class for him. If that plan doesn't work, you could always just ignore him.

And although Xenon can be an ass sometimes he always has asolid arguement to back up his statements. (Although I think he should stop directly attacking people and just state his opinion ><)
Ummm... none of my arguments are meant as direct attacks on people. I am presenting alternative opinions to those held by most of the status quo around here. People like to perceive them as direct insults so that they don't have to take the facts I am presenting to heart' so they don't have to make a decision one way or the other and can continue to float along blissfully ignorant.

Ya know Xenon, you know nothing about my church really. It's a prosperous one and I'm grateful for it. One of our mission statements is to build strong families for God--And that is soo true.
My family was jacked before we came to HFF. My parents were always arguing. They were slamming doors, leaping at each other and tackling each other to the ground, throwing things, and since we are a blended family, my mom would leave the house angry taking me and my little brother, or my step-dad would leave with his kids. I was being rebellious and stupid, my older brother and sister were running away, my other brother was into drinking and drugs, and my younger brother and sister were witnessing everything.
It sucked. But then we got a revelation--My family has a calling to the music ministry. Every single one of us plays an instrument(s) or sings or both. And Satan was trying to ruin that by separating us. My Pastor, Pastor Art Aragon, opened our eyes with the Word of God. We realized that God needs us to be strong so we can minister the gospel affectively if need be. And how do we minister? Through music.
Now, each and every one of us children from my parents are not called to the music ministry so much as my parents (My brother Jeremy is called to minister to youth, Janine to the youth as well, Jason to be a great preacher, Jewelene is to be a praise and worship leader, Eddie is to write songs for God, I am going to be a missionary/evangalist who has a psalmist anointing and through the songs I write, ppl will be delivered and saved, and my songs will preach and prophesy to those who can hear :) Young girls are also on my heart.)
Anywayz, my family realized that God wants our family to be whole. Man did things change after that. My parent's marriage was healed, I changed my life around, as well as my brothers and sisters. So much has changed for the better and I am soo grateful!
Ever since I've gone to HFF, so much has been revealed to me, I've grown in the Word like mad, I have a new zeal for God in my heart, and I've learned about the importance of worship and what a real Christian should be like.
I'm not your ordinary Christian Xenon--And I'm sure you recognize that since your "mission" so to say is to give me a hard time :)
@ Seraph: Dun trip homie--I'm grateful that you'd actually stand up for me when I never asked you to, thank you :)
@ Chibi: Yeah I should do that--But I have an even better plan. I called Elia yesterday and left her a message telling her that I need to talk to her. She hasn't called me back yet but when she does I'm gonna tell her that I don't appreciate her son sending me those e-mails the way that he did. I'm gonna tell her that I do not want to get into a relationship right now and that her son is NOT my future husband. :D
Ya know Xenon, you know nothing about my church really. It's a prosperous one --Yeah. Most of these White Trash style churches are pretty prosperous. What with the huge donation boxes and the goons in suits catching people as they are "taken" by the "Holy Ghost" to "Prophesy" and "speak in Tongues"... mhmmm. I bet that Aragorn dude is really, really prosperous.-- and I'm grateful for it. --Most brainwashed and mind-controlled cult members are. For a while.-- One of our mission statements is to build strong families for God--And that is soo true.

They were slamming doors, leaping at each other and tackling each other to the ground, throwing things, and since we are a blended family, my mom would leave the house angry taking me and my little brother, or my step-dad would leave with his kids. --Trouble in Paradise in Trailer Park Land? No! I would never have guessed you came from a dysfunctional family! Stop the lies!-- I was being rebellious and stupid, my older brother and sister were running away, my other brother was into drinking and drugs, and my younger brother and sister were witnessing everything. --Sounds like your average American family.--
It sucked. But then we got a revelation--My family has a calling to the music ministry. Every single one of us plays an instrument(s) or sings or both. We realized that God needs us to be strong so we can minister the gospel affectively if need be. And how do we minister? Through music. --It's so nice and neat! Like a fairy-tale complete with Satan and everything! Yay!--
Now, each and every one of us children from my parents are not called to the music ministry so much as my parents (My brother Jeremy is called to minister to youth, Janine to the youth as well, Jason to be a great preacher, Jewelene is to be a praise and worship leader, Eddie is to write songs for God, I am going to be a missionary/evangalist who has a psalmist anointing and through the songs I write, ppl will be delivered and saved, and my songs will preach and prophesy to those who can hear Young girls are also on my heart.) --Can I do some follow-up on where everyone is at in 10 or 15 years? You know, see the "great preacher" Jason now is, and the "praise and worship leader" that Jewelene ..nice name that one... is? Please sister. This is hokey-er than the designations I made for my first Starcraft Clan. Can't you see your "pastor" is playing you like a 5 cent fiddle? I pity you and your family. I really do. As a child brought up in a cult, I just hope you have a better time of it than I did.--
Anywayz, my family realized that God wants our family to be whole. Man did things change after that. My parent's marriage was healed, I changed my life around, as well as my brothers and sisters. So much has changed for the better and I am soo grateful! --Wonderful. A miracle. Hey, ummm... why was your parent's marriage in a shambles in the first place? What happened to your daddy? (Did he run off with his secretary?)--
Ever since I've gone to HFF, so much has been revealed to me, I've grown in the Word like mad, I have a new zeal for God in my heart, and I've learned about the importance of worship and what a real Christian should be like. --Well aren't you the special one!--
I'm not your ordinary Christian Xenon--And I'm sure you recognize that since your "mission" so to say is to give me a hard time. --My mission isn't to give you a hard time. I feel sorry for you. I really and truly and deeply do. All joking aside. All sarcasm aside, I feel pity and a great sense of sadness when I see how far you've slipped into the control of this cult. Let me ask you; do your parents "tithe"? Are they giving between 5% and 15% (or more) of everything they make to HFF? Yeah, well. Everyone has to learn on their own. The only thing HFF has done for you in the long run is deprive you of your free will and some of your cash by brainwashing you to believe that "God's Will" is the most important thing. Only problem is, Pastor Arbuckle, or Aragon, or Aragorn, or Lemmony Snicket, or whatever name he goes by in your state at the current time is the one who's deciding what "God's Will" is for you. Your pastor, his wife and everyone else in his organisation are first class con-men, and you've been duped and bamboozled. If I was you, I would sue.
Truly feeling sorry for you,
James Scott aka Xenon.

You've gone too far Xenon. You attack my faith, you bash my friends who stand up for me, you flame God, and then you gotta go the extra mile and attack my personal life.
Though it is required of me to love on you no matter what--I'm having a difficult time, let's just put it that way :)
You may feel sorry for me, but I don't feel sorry for myself. My life has increased so much more since I've been to HFF and that's because I'm gett'n the Word in me and I live it as well by being obedient to God :P
Well, I don't think we need to argue anymore. I just wanna be nice is all, I don't know why you keep on bashing me honestly. Anywayz--Have a good evening Xenon! :D
PC99: You need something in your life to believe in. You have chosen religion, not unlike many other across the face of this earth. Look at all these different religions that have sprouted across the globe. Each one claiming to be the right one. Nobody is right, if everybody is wrong. Religion is a crutch that people without the ability to accept that when we die, we die. There is no proof of any after life. It is all but speculation. You rely on these books from thousands of years ago. How come "God" doesn't proclaim himself? Or do something to let us know he's there. I prayed when I was a child for years. Not once did he answer. Not once did I hear anything. We all pretend to sit there and "talk to God" Then some say they hear him, and some other person claims they did to. Who can prove them wrong? Until I see something to prove there is a God, not just some nutcases fiction work that could have got picked up and mistaken for religion. Life is precious, we have little time on this planet. We should live each day as though it were our last. Don't take what I say as an insult, because it was not ment that way. I am happy for you and your family. Though I believe that it was YOU that changed yourselves, not God.
PC99: Get over it baby. I didn't "bash" you or your friends. I raised some doubts as to the reality of the fable that you and others have spun for yourselves. I haven't personally attacked you at all. Why do you keep insisting that my asking questions and giving my opinions constitutes a personal attack on you, your religion, and your friends? Don't you know how to debate anything? Why is it that my questions remain unanswered? Why is it that the Chrisitian's favorite method of deflecting doubt is to ignore questions posed and respond with some trite homily or cliché? Why when you ask a Christian a question do you not get their own opinion but rather some passage or verse from the Bible or something their beloved Pastor or Preacher said?
Can you answer any of these questions, or will you continue to dodge, evade, and ignore?
To me, dodging all of my questions shows weakness of faith in your chosen religion. It shows me you don't have the answers to my questions, and you need to wait and ask your false prophet, er, I mean pastor what the answers should be.
With much pity and commiseration,
Xenon

For a while.-- One of our mission statements is to build strong families for God--And that is soo true. So now you are calling them "white trash" now are you? That's a personall insult if ever I heard one. You do not know a damn thing about how her church works. You do not know that huge goons in suits try to sucker people out of their money, which they do not.
Let me ask you this xenon: If christianity is such a big scam, why did people suffer and die for it, in some of the most barbaric tortures back in Rome? I don't think anyone would be fool enough to suffer like that just for some scam.
--Can I do some follow-up on where everyone is at in 10 or 15 years? You know, see the "great preacher" Jason now is, and the "praise and worship leader" that Jewelene ..nice name that one... is? As a child brought up in a cult, I just hope you have a better time of it than I did.-- Sure can. Of course, it would take a survey of the future, to actually know what would become in the future now would'nt it? As you are in no position to tell the outcome of an unforseen event. In any case Xenon, I am sure she is having a wonderfull time in her life, as anyone could tell from her conversations here at WB.
I'm not your ordinary Christian Xenon--And I'm sure you recognize that since your "mission" so to say is to give me a hard time. --My mission isn't to give you a hard time. I feel sorry for you. You keep asking us for facts, well why don't you provide some of your own? How many people who live by the word of God "scamming people" have nice big mansions and fancy cars? Do you have ANY evidence behind this argument that Christianity is a scam or is this all your personall opinion?
If the shoe fits... If I can get a mod to access sandy's account I can go and get those letters, because knowing sandy, she never cleans out her inbox.
Non sequitur. Irrelevant. Ignored. Bull$hit, Bull$hit, Bull$hit is the only thing I just read out of that. You made a joke about the seriousness of this then you ignored my question to you. Unless you were talking about yourself.
Yeah, that's pretty fucking obvious.
WACO : Branch Davidians (http://religiousmovements.lib.virginia.edu/nrms/bran.html)
JONESTOWN : People's Temple (http://www.infoplease.com/spot/jonestown1.html)
Okay, and what the hell do churches made in the 1900's have to do with the churches in the 1600's we were referring to? I think the only thing that is "fucking obvious" is that you are trying to dispell christianity based on your own personall opinion about it, not facts.
PC99's"Church" is exactly what I thought it was. An organization whose leaders sole aim is to maintain their expensive lifestyle by holding huge evangelical rallies where they "heal" people and "proclaim the word of Jeee-suhs" etc., etc.. Take a good look at churches around the country you moron. You would see that very few churches are such "castles" of lavishment as you say. Can you bring anything to this table that is not your own fabricated opinion?
@ Seraph: Dun trip homie--I'm grateful that you'd actually stand up for me when I never asked you to, thank you :) No thanks is needed. Christ is my God too, and I don't take it lihgtly when someone insults him or one of my christian syblings.

That is fucking enough.
I sat here for a long while thinking about what to do about all of this. I wrote several paragraphs, then deleted them. Finally I settled for this: give it a rest, all of you.
Everyone is so set in their beliefs that they refuse to acknowledge the points raised by the opposing side. Protosschick considers all of Xenon's questioning as an attack on her faith, and Xenon cannot believe that religion is a solution to anything. There is no correct answer on this one, so the arguing constantly spirals towards personal attacks.
Hence, here's an official time-out.
