Yesterday after school an employee found a message written on the wall in the girls bathroom that Today, Friday there would be a shooting! My mom didn't let me go to school and none of my friends did either.. Post what you think.

I can understand his concern that it's serious though, Phil. You never know. There's so many tormented people in the world and they can snap at any time. It was a good idea to stay home. I just don't like being a jackass by anyone, damnit, when I'm just trying to liven the mood in such an otherwise morbid thread.

As soon as the 'shooter', if he/she exists, would be a lot smarter than committ a shooting with all that publicity. I bet something might happenn next week, if this shooter really exists. That's the only flaw with my prediction: if the shooter doesn't exist, nothing will happen. If so, I bet sometime next week, so be on your toes, Spartan-II.

The thing is, there's no way to know whether it was serious or not.

Logically, someone planning a school shooting would be an idiot to advertise it, because the reaction would be obvious - security, disrupted classes, etc. Hence I am led to believe that whoever wrote that is an attention whore, who did this because they thought it was funny and wanted to cause a bit of a shit-stir.

However, as convinced I am that it was a prank, you always have to take these things seriously and be on the safe side. Imagine completely disregarding such a message and then having a massacre on your hands... oh, the media would tear you to shreds for not acting.

My thoughts? Don't worry about it. Someone just wanted to cause a bit of excitement and it sounds like they did. I hope handwriting analysis catches that sucker.

did anybody ever think that this could be a desperate (and sad) attempt to escape either a test or turning something in?

and after school today they found anothe rmessage like it this time a bomb threat.geez whoever is doing that is crazy!! I'll bet that nothing will ever happen and that they are just trying to keep the school from resuming normal functionality so they dont have to turn in their paper/take that test :P....and I bet on monday there will be one that threatens another form of killing. and another on tuesday, and wednesday, then there will be nothing on thrusday and everybody will be scared that nothing was written on thursday, and then there will be one on friday.....hey wait next thursday and friday are holidays. Then there will be nothing on that thursday and friday then.

That's crazy! Jeez, exactly how many psychotic people live in your area? Seriously, but as I said before, you should keep your eyes out for anything suspicious. And if this keeps up, try to bust'em out of the water.

Was the second threat written in the girls bathroom too? If it was, then you actually have a lead. Think of any psychotically insane girls in your school, and maybe you can find out who it was.

But as everyone already said, it's probably just a cry for attention.

If somebody were going to follow through with a school shooting, why would they write it on the side of a bathroom stall? And chances are it was probably a prank but it's good that you stayed home and nobody ignored it. Those things always have to be taken seriously. BTW: The other day every school in our county had a bomb threat called in. O_o

Some dude told me it when I was a little kid.

Anyways, my point is that it could have just been some joker, speaking from personal experience I have seen many people write stupid stuff on bathroom walls (not me of course :shiftyr: .) Then again I could be real but people snap all the time and with out warning so you dont really know when some thing is bad is going to happen but you can't live your life in fear because of this either.

And that's why public schools are crazy. Just lucky I don't go to one They ain't that bad, I mean look at me I perfectly normal. (I think)

(exept for that first line) very good reasoning and thoughgs, seraph. It would be a good idea to befriend any suspects, or at least not annoy them. Now what I want to know is why dont the teachers or counclers take some action and hunt down these supectable folks and have some talks with them or soemthing? from everything I've heard it sounds like the adults over there arent doing much more than getting police to come in and keeping kids at home. Thats not very helpful in the long run.

(response to last paragraph) In a situation like this, I see everybody as neutral. one person is just as likely to explode as the next person is. doesn't matter what kind of person they are, it's all equal.

like that woman who's dog got wet whilst she was walking it, she put the dog in the microwave before drying her own hair - sued the microwave company for not putting "do not microwave pet animals" in the user manual and won $2 million

suing a school with a checklist of people going in and out of the bathroom is pretty small beer by comparison.

Our school is quite close Moscow's largest oil refinery, a perfect target for a terrorist attack.
