Boredom leads to playing with random things. Example, I was very bored yesterday and, being the smart person that I am, I began juggling scissors (YES, scissors). I poked my hand many times, and I nearly got the inclination to begin juggling knives.

Blame CANADA!!! (Lol) Seriously, my #1 enemy is boredom! The only way to torture me is to leave me in a blank room with NOTHING to do at all...

This thread is headed to the woodchipper if someone can't give me a good reason why boredom is the #1 killer of teenagers in the next 5 posts ;). Otherwise it's just blatant spam, and I couldn't stand for that!

Day after day your home life's a wreck
The powers that be just
Breathe down your neck
You get no respect
You get no relief
You gotta speak up
And yell out your piece
So back off your rules
Back off your jive
Cause i'm sick of not living
To stay alive
Leave me alone
I'm not asking a lot
I just don't want to be controlled
That's all i want
All i want
How many times is it gonna take
Till someone around you hears what you say
You've tried being cool
You feel like a lie
You've played by their rules
Now it's their turn to try
So back off your rules
Back off your jive
Cause i'm sick of not living
To stay alive
Leave me alone
I'm not asking a lot
I just don't want to be controlled
That's all i want
All i want
I said it before
I'll say it again
If you could just listen
Then it might make sense

I think killphill was closer, that boredom leads to depression.
If we look at the neural firing rates, boredom has a pretty low neural firing rate (hence the reason bored people don't tend to think very fast. Or well). Depression also has a pretty low neural firing rate, so the transition isn't that big.
Anger, on the other hand, has a very high neural firing rate (hence the reason angry people tend to think pretty fast. Sometimes so fast they don't think all the way through).
Therefore, I support the idea that boredom leads to depression, which leads to various crap that leads to death. Although actually, boredom isn't the number one killer of 15-19 year olds, accidents are, but, eh. (I'm post #5! Happy Radlin?)
On an off-topic note, being surprised will speed up your neural firing rate quickest. Joy, on the other hand, has a fairly slow neural firing rate. I bet this is why, whenever we see scream links, we tend to be surprised (high neural firing rate) and then, once we figure out that nothing is going to kill us, our neural firing rate plummets down to joy. The neural firing rate decrease is so rapid that we experience quite a bit of joy, which is expressed via laughter, once we hit that joy state. Once we are used to being happy, we stop laughing.
(Could this be considered high quality spam? Probably, it's incoherent enough. I bet I killed the thread though! Die thread! Die!)

By the way Edvard, that was probably the ONE post in this ENTIRE thread that had any actually meaning. You gave this thread meaning! Not to mention a spark of intelligence.
So it was high-quality spam?
It's never too soon to start campaigning for a forum award, any forum award will do (including most likely to be excommunicated).

When you are bored, you contemplate the meaning of life. You suddenly realize that you have no life. You realize that you are of no importaince of this world. You commit suicide, and die.
That is my reason :P

When I'm bored I write. Whatever first comes to mind you write about. It doesn't have to be coherent, in fact the less coherent it is the funnier it is. I get bored often, as you can see by this:

Bordom is like a blessing to me. To be board means there is nothing hanging over your sholder like a regimental soldier....
What is worse than bordom is an insane ammount of mental pressure, while not being a major killer for teens (we tend to have ways of dealing with it) it certainly takes its toll on adults. It is much easier to survive doing nothing than try and cramp 5k+ tasks into daily life.
For that reasoning i say bring on the bordom and blame the russians for the feeling of bordness that comes with bordom!

Gd, you disturb me. lol, that was funny though. Your avatar would'nt happen to be a result of being bored, would it?
Actually no. That was a thing at our church where we dress up and "act out" songs for the old people's entertainment. We did a song from Grease, and thought it would be funny if the girls played the guys and vice versa. Needless to say, it was funny :D
