I imagine that there will be some sort of 'legendary' bug (not exactly 'bug': a thing that is left in the game on purpose... forgot its name), where you do a certain sequence of actions and get rewarded somehow :P

Anyway, my mate came to my place yesterday, and we powered through the game and are almost finished :)

I absolutely adore using ghosts against the computer. Does anyone else think that ghosts are now the greatest vehicle? :)

I loathe the ending. Too abrubt. Other than that, the entire game surpassed my exepectations, with the exception of the Magnum, which is in my opinion, way too underpowered to be of any use in ANY situation in the entire game.

And Ghosts now totally destroy Banshees, contrary to the first game. :)

Woah, ghosts were my favourite vechile in Halo 1. I was a god on a ghost to the point that I would never crash after flipping off a tank, and pther people used ghosts so I couldn't have one.

Boost feature, temporarly allowing you to reach about 1.5 times the regular speed. Standard speed has, however, been reduced. The Ghost is now slower than the Warthog without using the boost feature.

The single most important thing, however, is the new boarding feature. In Halo 2, you cannot just go up to someone and run them over. They'll board you in an instant. You'll have to use the boost feature, which makes it extremely difficult to steer.

Overall, the Ghost has been reduced in power.

They could have actually you know, FINISHED the campaign mode, but instead they're leaving it WIDE open for Halo 3. Acutally, if anyone happened to get the super awesome Limited Collector's Edition, watch the "Making of Halo 2" section. It shows that near the end of the devolpment cycle, they were starved of time, and couldn't finish all they wanted to put in. In fact, about half of the featurette is based around this fact.

We find out in H2 that brutes betrayed the elites grunts and prophets. Right now covenant have turned into 2 parties with brutes and jackals on 1 side and grunts, elites and prophets on the other. Even their ships r killing each other.

In the beginning we see brutes taking the ceremonial headdress off of the honor guards in high charity but near the end of the game, we find out the brutes assassined almost all of the prophets, few remained namely prophet of truth. Then the elites are back as number one on the prophets good list and the teams are set.

Not so. Truth is the only remaining Covenant Prophet (You "killed" Regret, who's body was later assimlated into Gravemind. Mercy was killed by a single Flood infection form, ironically enough.) Truth has sided with the Brutes, Jackals and Drones, who are really the only ones dumb enough not to see through Truth's Great Journey to what it really is: death.

not the way i see it, as far as i saw, truth ORCHESTRATED the events, left mercy to die and sided with the brutes, jackals and "yan-me" (limited edition manual, i only know the covanent name for them flying ones)

there must still be prophets alive as before you dish out righteous pain upon him at the end tartarus says that the brutes, not the elites will be tha favoured of the prophetS, so it seems that the rest of the hierachs are both alive and under truth's sway.

although with a large portion of the fleet under the command of the elite/hunter/grunt forces, the future of the covanent looks non-existant.

You dont even need to see Halo 3 to see the Covenant are unstable. When MC leaves Halo with the forerunner ship you see covenenat ships shooting at each other.

Woot! In this weeks news (in my head) Bob has just gotten to the top of every outdoor level. The bridge (big one on earth) was my first one (mostly on accident). the way bob did this is he went to a wall and drove up it, then mr.tank flipzordededded on his ackemeback. So Bob got on top of him. bob then fliped over mr. tank. bob went up realy high, and got to the top of the level. i looked at all the buildings, but most of theme turned out to be sprites. so i walked for a long time, and i found the end of the world. it was cool. then i jumped into the ocean and died. Then there was delta halo (the biggest single player level) in this one, bob and his freind AXE THE MERDERER!! got to the top of the level by skipping ALL fights, running to the bridg thing, Rocketing the crap out of the elites, jack 2 ghosts, fly back to the first base, and where the ground is kind of sloping, super boost with a ghost, and drive up it. there you will be at the top of level. I recomed staying on the highest points, so you don't fall and splat. I'm not going to tell you how to do anything else (like get into the lakes). Then there was the level sentinal wall or somthing like that. recomend skipping level. it is a crapy one to explore. but I don't know how we got up on top.
I'll try to get some videos of me doing it (accept for the bridge, that was a weird one, don't know how i did it). soooooooooooo

There is an easy way to get on top of levels. Just do the warthog sword trick. If you aim it right, it should work.

Yeah, the one where you are in the passenger seat with the sword, and then you look at the drivers seat, and if someone is next to the drivers seat, get your target reticle red. Then hold the right trigger down, and aim where you want to go. Then exit the passenger seat, while still holding down the right trigger. You should fly.

You may notice a few things about the scarab gun in the video.

A quick confirmation. Bungie pretty much has proven in the past that they follow up with games until the plot is truely finished. My personal belief about why H2 took to long to ship was because they were making H2 and H3 @ same time and soon gonna release H3

They should just do Halo 3 with the availiable engine- it's good enough, and any further advance would really tax the system. Just update the weapons (especially the human ones) and change the vehicles (IMO, you should not have to kill the driver to destroy the vehicle).

You dont need to kill driver to kill vehicle. That would be dumb. If you upgrade to a better engine you get better tech and faster loading levels while having better graphics. Remember there are glitches in H2 because of the superior loading times with bump mapping. With a new engine, you could eliminate all of that and speed up loading times. Halo 3 will come out.

The pods allow it to manuver. Have any of you sniped a person in a banshee yet? It is the best to see them plumment from the sky

I havn't really played Halo 2 for a long time, but my favorite part was using stealth with the part that's a jungle map and you play as Arbiter. I like that map because you have to use your head a little and use stealth, unless you're Dom1nator or something ;).

I noticed, I'm trying to go the whole way through, I've tried Stealth, run and gun (Plasma pistol and SMG), Team support (at the part where grunts and elites constantly get out of a boarding dock onto your ship) and NOTHING is working O.o.

My brother beat the whole game on legendary! I still don't know how he did it. I still get killed on heroic :/ yea so what if i suck. they took out the pistle so i can't owen things on all dificultys.... but its nice for multie. I have found ways that make legendary possible (like skipping half of each level.

Alright, update. I got JUST past that checkpoint and got to the part where you snipe the grunts on the gun things. I'm stuck there and havn't really tried much. I'm going to try to beat Halo on Legendary and then write a walk-through ^_^.

P.S. Using the plasma pistol and Assault Rifle is the best way that I found for beating the part where all the Covenant board. Although, the Plasma/SMG strategy worked well, I found myself dying a lot if I made 1 small mistake.

Cairo station is hard, but have any of you heard about the Sarge glitch? It takes awhile but it's great if you get it to work.

Here's what you do:

When you get to the end of the first part where Sarge stops, melee him up the staircase and eventually he has a new set path, basically rinse and repeat until the end of the level

(This takes a long time, but will help you live a longer life through less stress induced tantrums..)

I do that when I get mad. Its not has hard as with hunters. Unless ur talking about Berzerker Brutes. Thats just suicide (unless ur on easy).

Yes when you beat Legendary you unlock Mythic. EVEN THOUGH BEATING LEGENDARY IS FRICKIN IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Its one of the seceret skulls. Though I have heard rumors that you get it as an unlockable when you beat it on Legendary. Anyway you can find the skull by simple searching for Halo Skulls online. When you get it, prepare to be hurting. Here is what you get when you play it.

* All Covenant are upgraded to their Max form. So both Elites and Grunts are in thier white form. Jackels in thier gold and Brutes in their comander form. Drones, Hunters, Prophets dont have any other forms. :mad:


* All foes gain 4x hp. So its gonna take 4x the amount of fire power to kill them. Headshots are also 2 hit kills. However, melee to the back is still insta kill. :o

* 1 shot kill. Means that if YOU get hit with ANYTHING once you will die. This is the real challenge. :(

* All alies die (except Sarge, Keyes, that White Elite guy) in one hit. Same as you. :concern:

* You and your allies deal 1/2 damage to foes. :cry:

So ya, if you can beat the WHOLE game on Mythic. You are without a doubt the best Halo player around.

you just have to be methodical and take your time... say on cairo in hanger 2, on this mythic difficulty you speak of (blasphemy) if you take your time and kill all the grunts first, slowly but surely you can then take down 1 sword welding elite @ a time.

not exactly..... depending on the situation.... but this method helps even the odds.... if its close combat, blocking that plasma charge will help you win if your carrying a shotgun or sword as ur other weapon.... mid range, theres realli nothing you can do cept spray with your smg or plasma rifle... or if you have a battle rifle or carbine as your other, it is anyones game, whoever is more accurate with the br or carbine will win, as opposed to the br plasma pistol combo owning you bcuz of a popped shield.

Yeah, but if it is in close range, it is much easier to dodge. So you wouldn't even need to drop the weapon. And in medium to long range, your basically dead unless you have a rocket as your other weapon or something.

ever heard of sniping by looking through the little screen on the human sniper rifle? thats how you close range snipe. a battle rifle works if you are mid range because it takes the same amount of time for you and your opponent to switch weapons so it depends who switches first or who can get more shots on

well duznt matter, my strategy just evens the odds if youre ever in that situation where your on the recieving end of the br pp combo... better to make him blast all ur shields away then kill u then to pop ur shields and then kill u with 1 burst

Ok here is how you find it:

In the Halo 2 level "The Sacred Icon" there is a semi outdoor area which has the same type of area right next to it. There is an Enforcer Sentinal in front of each one. Go past this area and down the piston and you'll be in a vary dark and dank flood infested area. There's a stack of 6 or 7 boxes as you enter the room. Use them to jump up to the landing above. There are a handful of alcoves on your right hand side. The skull is in the third alcove, floating above a dead human flood.

Note: You need to be on Legendary Difficulty to find it.
