Greetings from the Blizzard development team!
We are happy to inform you that you have been accepted into the World of Warcraft Beta program.

On March 4, 2004, you and 1200 others will be given the opportunity to experience the first phase of beta
for yourself. However, we require you to abide by a few rules:

-Do not sell, trade, share, or transfer your beta account, beta account information, or the game files itself.

-We will also require you to accept a Non-Disclosure Agreement(NDA) during your registration. This NDA will
prohibit the distribution of any information regarding the game, including but not limited to, intellectual rights,
copyrighted characters or insignia, non-copyrighted characters or insignia, class information, spell information,

quests, NPCs, screenshots, or the game files used to run World of Warcraft.

-Lastly, we want you to enjoy yourself, and report back to us any suggestions or bugs you might find!

Prior to March 4, ! the CD's with the game files will be sent, and a link to download the game itself will become

available. We will include the link to these files, your Beta Access Key(CD-Key), and more information at that time.

But, for now, we ask you to reply with the Username and the Password you would like to use for the beta.

Congratulations, and we look forward to hearing your feedback!

Haha, they messed up more than a few times in that email. Blizzard has stated that there will not be a NDA for the WoW beta. Also, why would Blizzard send out the cds AND put up the download for a single person?

Ah well, it was a nice try eh?

Haha, silly posers.

Not to mention that they would never ask for username and password through email, either. That is all done through the actual WoW beta program itself.

Yar, I'm going to yell . . . rather loudly, the next time I hear someone ask that question!

You have to look at it from Blizzard's perspective when about to ask this question:

Although people may deny it, most people determine whether a game will be good or not in the beta testing stages. It seems somewhat inane, as beta testing is meant to be buggy, and is meant to be fixed and added on to, but people can't seem to grasp this. So most people apply for the beta of a game, find out it's buggy, get kicked from the servers a few times, and then they preach about how horrid the game is. This is what Blizzard would want to avoid.

So instead of giving us something that's buggy and such, they're attempting to get any major problems smoothed out before it goes into beta testing. This way they can still hold onto the majority of new beta testers that don't understand what the point of a beta testing is. Blizzard will release it when they believe that it is ready for scrutinizing.

Until then, find another game to play. I've heard that Knights Online is great (don't be fooled by the low sys reqs, almost everyone I've talked to has had something good to say about it). It's in open beta right now, so you may as well have a gander, and get some beta testing experience:
