WOAH, I just noticed that. Wow, that's HUGE. Like atleast 40 feet tall. It's going to be so hard to kill, but I bet it will be so fun. I hope we get to kill it.

Haha, I heard legendary is hard, so it would be funny if we had to kill it with plasma grenades.

Just a side note, it almost feels like we didnt see that whole trailer. It kinda seems like that guy had the camera off when the thing came on, then thought "O crap!" and turned it on half way through.

I bet that explosion is a nuke or a covenant bombardment, or the cov killing earth. And that spider thing in the beginning looks like one of the plasma things that shoots the building in the h2 preview on the halo disc.

Yeah, but remember the Covenant knew about projectile based weapons, such as guns, but did not use them since they were 'inferior' or something like that.

Because we have yet to see a plasma-based weapon that matches the power and area of effect of a nuclear bomb. Just because WE have nuclear ordance doesn't mean that the Covenant can improve upon it.

They probably dun c a need to use weapons of mass destruction (covenant ones) bcuz their conventional weapons can do enough damage anyways and can be reused.

What do you mean? In all the books, they talk about the Covenant glassing the planets with plasma, which obviously is something that will take very strong plasma based weapons.

Those plasma bombardment weapons arent massive destuction, they dun spread like a nuke duz. The ships that fire them have to orbit the planet to glass it which makes it nothing compared to a nuke.

We've never seen how it looks when the glass a planet, so we can't be sure.

Basically the plasma weapons the Covenant used can be powered up to do whatever they want, and are also a clean weapon because they don't leave horrible neuclear fallout, which is always a plus. And for the love of Cortana, could you please not use AIM speak? It's fragging annoying.

You'd have to have an orbiting Covenant cruiser to use the plasma-based attack, something that is far harder than it appears. They'd have to dodge the orbital MAC Cannons, UNSC warships, singleship Longsword fighters and the Moon. Nuclear ordance, however, can be dropped onto the planet with the troops, and detonated without relying on an orbiting cruiser.

Remember @ threshold where cortona jumped from the planet when she thought it was 2 close to jump from? well theoretically u cud jump out of slipspace into that same orbit. well makes plasma bombardment much ezier dun u think, when cruisers can just appear bhind the MAC cannons and below them.

so far the covenants version of a nuke is plasma bombardment. nukes dun destroy whole planets but they destroy a large chunk of it. now with the new novas as heard of in first strike that would kill a whole planet. that would be the covenant equivalent of plasma bombadment, those novas.

Yes, but you keep forgetting that the Covenant use plasma for the following reasons:
* It's clean (Not fallout).
* The Forerunner Used plasma.
* You can easily recharge plasma weapons.
I'm not saying the Covenant are right or wrong, just those are the reasons.

Oh yeah. Totally forgot. That's certainly a valid reason for your argument.

As for the Sarge, the sydrome (can't remember the exact name, it was "Bower's" or something) he has is from high-yield radiation, such as those released from a plasma grenade. Apparently the Sarge captured a crate of them during a siege and, in the process, received the sydrome. It affects the nervous system, and, as a direct result, the Flood could not possess them because his nervous system was too jumbled to easily leach onto.

well say ur plasma rifle overheated and had to vent the exhausted plasma.... theres a low dosage of plasma radiation right there.... now say that happens every 20 or so shots..... thats 10 times that it could happen with plasma discharge. and thru bioaccumalation or w/e i learned in science class, that little bit multiplied by many times equals something big. now say you were one of those engineers or elites working in the weapons room where all the big plasma storage is, it would discharge lots of plasma and ud be right there to recieve it.

the book sed that there would be lethal dosage in 72 hours. shields do not affect radiation penetration but certain metals do, lets hope that even being bashed, burned and dented, the MCs armor is still good condition
