I personally like FPSs for the cpu better, but i know some probably think towards the other direction. Please vote, and if possible, leave why you voted that way.
I voted for the cpu because i find the aiming to be easier, nicer playability, but i really like how much smoother the consoles run some of the games.

Mouse rules joysticks. If you need me to explain, you'll obviously never understand. Bah.

A mouse will never have the accuracy nor precision of a joystick. Joystick requires velocity and moves only in the direction you point. Mouse allows you to pinpoint locations.
I believe the game makes a big difference. I'm sure that you have all played an amazing console game that you love, and I'm sure that you've played a computer game that you love. All in all, it depends on the game... there have been console games which would have sucked on computer and vice versa

Console FPS games always have some degree of auto-aim, which although makes the game playable, it also makes it seem like the game is playing for you. Computer FPS games also have much better multi-player support and have many variants through mods.

I like the controls of a console better, it just has that feeling that you're playing on a game machine, not a geeky computer, I feel that computers are more suited to doing work.

I like console better, but I have a sub par computer and a trackpad, which aren't the best for FPS's.

Definately computer for its quasi-free multiplayer (still have to pay connection), although my computer is slowly biting the bullet and the halo controlers look warmer and warmer each day. Plus I never liked how you can never really control how fast the targeter moves with a joystick, with a mouse you can pinpoint targets very easily, which is awesome for head/upper body shots or sniping, which is the corner stone of any good game. Why empty a clip on someone's foot when two bullets to the chest take them out of commision, anyway.

I am not sure. Computer is pretty good, but then again so is console. I can work with both, efficiently.

PC is definitely better. You can fine tune specs to improve performance, which can come in handy for keeping multiplayer games smooth. Also, most games tend to reward the guy who has a $300 dollar graphics card over someone who doesn't.
The mouse is also offers precise and quicker controls. Controller pads are good when you get used to them, but PC's are much more customizable. You can choose exactly what button you want to execute an action, but consoles always have pre-defined layouts that you need to follow. The only console's I own are a dusty old NES and and playstation, neither of which I use anymore. I've also heard that the resolution on even the new high-def TV's is still only comparible to a standard monitor resolution. The max resolution I've seen for a TV was something around 1300x800, last time I checked.

i prefer playing fps games on the computer. way easier to aim. and like other people have said, you can put better parts in ur computer to make it run games faster. if a console cant run a certain game smoothly, it'll never be able to run it smoothly.

I like comp games, because you feel like you're more into the game.

I prefer consoles.
I sank 400$ into my XBox 360, and i'll never have to update it again. No new graphics or sound cards, no having to buy more ram, and no fucking compatability issues to deal with. XBox Live is 50 USD a year, which roughly 4.25 a month. And for that 4.20, I can play any and every game that is Live Compatible.
Joysticks are harder to use than a mouse, but can be just as accuracte and fast. Also, a controller is easier to use than a mouse+keyboard. If you're frantically fighting someone and accidentally mash the wrong key, you can fuck yourself over. While the same is true for a controller, it's much rarer from my experience.
Also, consoles are dedicated for games, and as such, usually run them smoother and with less glitchiness/errors as their PC counterparts. (It depends on the PC, but from my experience, my 360 matches my friends 1600 USD custom built computer.
That is why I prefer consoles.

Spartan. In about 2-3 years another generation of consoles will apear. Probably with a bigger cost. And that's the same to updating a computer :P.
All that Xbox has that PCs don't is, like Spartan pointed, no compatibiliy issues and better graphics. But I've never been interested in graphics ( not as far as going to text based games :/ ).
What PC has and Xbox doesn't is the ability to run 25 old games (I love Dosbox), modding and a LOT more games run on the PC rather then consoles. That will change in time, I think.

I enjoy both.
Both have their advantages and disadvanges. Consoles have ALOT more advantages, but it's disadvanages are extremely huge.

PC is the superior gaming machine in my opinion. If you don't like mouse and keyboard, then you can buy one of those joystick/controllers. I'm not so sure if that works for consoles...
However, if your getting a PC just for gaming, it's not worth it. They're too expensive...

Setting aside the other uses for a comp, for gaming, what really matters to me are the games.
As a gamecube owner, while singleplayer games can be fun, multiplayer is always better. The problem is gamecube is about offline multiplayer, which means you'd have to drag friends, which can be a hassle.
The online system of the PC lets you play online. You can play with friends, strangers, etc.
Even as Nintendo goes into the new generation, I think I'll be disappointed if I look into online play. Look at the DS; the best they can do is 4 player. Even then, you have all these friend code gimmicks that are ridiculous. "OMG MARIOUSER234 IS GONNA SAND ME A VIRUS" Nintendo is straining my patience by always holding back freedom.
As for myself buying a 360... Well, I don't like paying for Xbox Live. Yeah, it's cheap, but I'm not exactly thrilled about it. As for Xbox games... Well, I do see a LOT of shooters and a LOT of racing games... I'd be happy to see more creative games like Shadow of the Colossus or Metroid Prime. Almost on the fence about it.
Revolution is cheap, but now I want a multiplayer online console, but I'm afraid Nintendo's going to surprise us with... 6 players or such, forcing friend codes, etc.
PS3 $600? Nope.
PC gaming wise... If I want FPS, I always got CS, please enough. Especially the constant barrage of WW2 shooters.
The only game I'm really looking at is Guild Wars and that's because there's PvP and it's about strategy, NOT because you have some item that gives you +24234 bonus, COUGH COUGH DIABLO 2. I'm sick of the hack and slash and hack and slash, I mean it gets so repetitive, repetitive. You slave for hours a day just to find some item. Wasn't the gamePLAY supposed to be fun?
I'm a kind of guy that loves strategy, but not those that require insane reflexes to do. That's why I love TCGs like MTG. I also love a game about TEAMWORK, not CS where you're just a clone of your teammate. Guild Wars seems to accomplish both, but I'll have to buy more RAM, since I only have 256.
In my book, consoles > PC, but PC+online > consoles. As for consoles+online... we will have to see.

I have a trackerball mouse, and I love it! It's especially brilliant for RTS games, and it's about equally effective as a normal one in FPS games.
I voted comp, I only like gamepads for fighting games and flight sims, but for the rest, mouse and keyboard is far superior.

depends on the game, entirely.
some things are just better on a console. such as if i have friends over -- multiplayer on the console. but if im solo and i want to kill something its pc time. aside from the HD revolution coming, if i want graphics i go for the PC (because im closer and TV screens blow anyway).
racing and other games (like zelda or whatnot) are meant for a console. fps, however, is only on the pc. same goes for rpgs.
im completely split down the middle. i really think i use both equally, in the long run.
