Ok, I know that Deus Ex Is an old game now.
But I still want to ask If there are any Deus Ex fans out there.
Or If anyone has even tried the game.
So, are there any UNATCO agents out there?

I've played the original Deus Ex... it's one of the very few games that I've gone back and clocked again. I absolutely loved the storyline; I thought it was brilliant. It's definately one of my all-time favourites. Multiplayer is sucky, though...
Haven't had a chance to play Deus Ex 2, but I've heard it's disappointing.

I lovith Deus Ex. I've played it through at least 5 times. I need to go play it again, but I can't, since the OS9 (it's an OLD game!) machine isn't operational, and the only place to move it to is my desk, which, as you can see here (http://homepage.mac.com/doyle/messyDesk.jpg), is impossible at the moment.
I heard DX2 was a poor sequel. Yea, the inventory is just 6 slots, the augs are completely different, etc... but you can throw barrels at people and they fall over =P

It feels good to know that there are some people that have tried It, since most people are always nagging about CS here and there, or other boring games.
Say, what part of the game did you find most fun?
I myself always liked working for UNATCO, even If you got some more fun weapons In the end when you end up working for the true side. But of course, all parts are really fun. And I also enjoyed the end In area 51 and the chocies you were given.

What a coincidence. Today I read about 25 StarCraft: Ghost previews and a lot of them mentioned that it was going to be similar to Deus Ex with its open-ended playing style, giving you multiple methods of achieving the same objectives. Do you think the idea of the open-ended playing style worked? Did it make you feel like playing the game again? Or did you just play the game again because of other reasons? Do tell, I'm interested.

Well, the multiple chocies in Deus Ex really kept me going. And I also liked the system of having to increase your skills to become more profinent in your abillities. And the characters are also well made. However, J.C could have been a bit better.
Heīs a little to cool and confident at some points, perhaps they should have thrown a bit of humour In him. And another reason that I like the game is that you have to really use tactics or else youīre done for. And of course, the Unreal styled music was really great.
As for SC: Ghost, I havenīt really taken much intrest in reading about It.

Definately; people like being able to make choices for themselves.
Did it make you feel like playing the game again?
Of course, because I could play it through choosing different decisions, skills, etc. It has great replayability.

That too. Deus Ex is huge, and the storyline is long and complicated. Also, having learned most of the tricks in exploration and stealth, it was fun to go back and apply that right from the word go.

Say, Schwitser and all other Deus Ex players.
Whatīs your favorite weapon/weapons in Deus Ex?
Mine were always the Assault Rifle and Dragonīs Tooth.

I'm actually playing it right now. I borrowed it from a friend a while back, and it's an interesting game. It's on my PS2, and the story line is very interesting so far.
I'm back in New York after visiting Hong Kong in attempts to stop a superfreighter with a deadly virus. Ooooh...
The title, Deus Ex, has me wondering though. Will the ending be a Deus Ex Machina? (Dont tell me or answer that :) )
The only turn off for me is I absolutely hate FPS style games. I can't stand them. I love third person though. If StarCraft Ghost was FPS, I would have seriously considered not purchasing it when it comes out.
I simply believe that having a TPS instantly adds more strategy to a game, because you can see the character. You can relate to him, and peer around corners, see what he cant, etc. etc.

To Black.Ice:
The superfreighter?
Well thatīs about half-way through the game, you still have a long way to go.
Say, how long have you been playing?
I think It took me somewhere between 24-36 hours to finish the game when I played It for the absolutely first time, perhaps even longer.

Black.Ice: I believe Deus Ex is short for Deus Ex Machina, which is Latin for "God from a Machine".
My favourite weapons were the stealth pistol and the sniper rifle. I'm very covert.

My problem with games is that I take a very, very, very long time to play them. I like to take time, go slowly, explore things. I never finish a game in less than a week.
Schwiztzer: I know it's short for a Deus Ex Machina, but being a writer, I inferred it to be the literary meaning of it. The literary meaning is basically when the author makes up stupid stuff to save his character. It came fromt he plays where the "God" would be lowered down using wires or rope from a "machine", to appear as if he were floating. It would be usually used in tradegies to help the character out from an unsolvable predicament.
Anyways, I've been playing on and off for about 5 months. When I say on and off, I mean, play for an hour or two every other week. That's all the time I put into console games. ;)

I've never played it before, but due to the strategy and decision-making aspects of the game, it sounds very good; would you consider it similar to a FPS RPG? Freedom of choice, etc, while still following the storyline. Sounds very fun. What consoles is it on?

Well, I suppose we could call It a RPG styled FPS.
As for consoles, Itīs available for XBOX and PS2.

Definately a great storyline, but Deus Ex 2 was a let down. Still, Ion Storm does good work, and I feel obligated to support some local talent (they're in Austin as well).
If anyone is looking for something similar, but different, for Deus Ex, you might look at System Shock 2. Same sort of choices you have to make in terms of what abilities you want to have, but definately leans more toward the "suspense" end of the spectrum. It's the only actually scary game I've ever played.

I never finished the game, but my favourite (and most deadly) weapon was the GEP Gun.
I also loved hacking into all the turrets and killing everybody, but YOU have to activate the turrets, that's a drawback. :(
SS2 was also a good (and scary) game!

Deux Ex 1 was brilliant, terrific storyline, good paths to choose, multiple endings.
Deux Ex 2 on the other hand, was indeed a let down but I can't put my finger on things. If there was one tidbit I could change from Deux Ex 1 would be to stay with the bad guys the whole way through and see how things turned out.
