All hail pistol. It is a great all around weapon, and you start with it (most, if not all, the time), and takes little skill to Pistol Snipe (fun skill everyon should have)

Too great. Pistols are cheap and overpowered, everyone knows that. But everyone uses it, so then I have to also to keep up with the unfair advantage a pistol has.

Actually making the pistol that strong is a mistake, and Bungie knows it. They even said that making a pistol that strong was their fault, and it won't be like that in Halo 2. Why do you think they removed the pistol from the game in Halo 2 and replaced it with a pistol with no zoom?

They never thought it would be the best weapon. Obviously there was some bad testing, or else they would have found out the pistol was overpowered.

The AR is BAD in all ways except for:
50% health and no shield matches. Try that and it's the best weapon out there.;)

Depending on the level/mode I use pistol with rocket launcher(mainly fun, well only fun), shotgun, AR or sniper.
Pistol is an over powered weapon, I mainly use pistol to snipe people because it only has a small flash rather than big trail like the sniper rifle, however if you are in the ice place (sorry, I haven't played in a while, but last game I played I got 100 kills when the next closest was under 40) with tanks, although the pistol is VERY effective at taking out those tanks from a safe place, a good head shot with the sniper rifle is so much more effective, it is very usefull if playing capture the flag and the enemy has just got 2 tanks and you died.

AR is usefull for blood glutch and intense games, nothing releaves your nerves like shotting 2 rounds into a wall. With high ammo you can kill lots of people before needing to find more ammo and it has that fun chainsaw action.

Shotgun is good for very tight levels cause a shotgun blast in the back is very effective at killing.

hehe...uhmmm..well..AR Plus shotgun but if u wanna get real technical(since the choice wasnt there) i choose...THE HALO!!! Yes it is a wepon. It was created by the forerunner to kill all organic life so the flood could feed off of the dead bodys :) and me being flood..is the best(yes i associate myself with the flood)

Haha, wow, looking back at these comments I made is pretty funny. Compared to how badly they nerfed the pistol in Halo 2, I'd rather have it the way it was in Halo 1.

And with the votes, I'm pretty surprised the plasma rifle didn't get as many votes as the assault rifle did. It's definately better with the stun effect it does.

It's a pistol! It should NOT kill an enhanced super soldier in shielded battle armor in three hits. I call BULLSHIT.

The rocket travels too slow in Halo, and it has no lock on feature.

I think they are about equal in both, rocket launcher should be fast so you have a chance of hitting things but if it is fast it doesn't need lock on but I think they were just trying to let you use it to take out banshees. In halo 2 I think the blast radius is too big but thats just my prejudgice. I hate what they have done with pistol in halo 2, though I know some people who still pwn with pistol, that just says bad things about the newbies they are playing rather than good things for the pistol, the power is ok and you can still kill people with plasma pistol/magnum but it isn't accurate any more (starts hitting people), now it is completely unreliable, you aim at the head but it scatters at range and hits their shoulder so they then can kill you with their superior weapon BLAH. I liked the pistol in halo and would have used it if it was weaker, in halo 2 I like the carbine because its like a balanced pistol.

You can't dual weild in Halo 1.

And needlers only work if the enemy doesn't see you and is walking in almost a straight line.

Well to be honest that does sound better than my reasoning since logically a magnum is inaccurate and powerful, I was just saying it out of nosteligia and desire for a balanced pistol even though carbine is as close to that as possible, perhaps also the battle rifle. But despite sound reasoning I would still like an accurate magnum (without zoom still) for the purposes of nostelligia. But man did they mess up the orginial halo weapon set in halo 2, I think it would be cool if they actaully suck in the orginial weapons and their stats, maybe with balancing (weaken pistol) and some of the new stuff like dual weild (maybe) and the rocket launcher stats and tracking with all the new vechiles and levels because battle rifle != assault rifle

Acutally the battle rifle is no where near an assault rifle. The smg is a weakend modification of the assult rifle for one purpose, Assault rifle tore up if you could get close enough to use it. I dont remember how many times ive torn up legendary and my brothers/friends with assault rifle.(Plus you cant double wield a rifle, there to big n heavy) The battle rifle is a rifle. It has the zoom and the double handed wield like most rifles. Plus it shoots in semi auto in bursts of three.

!= is nerd (scripter) slang for does not equal. Dual SMG is very similiar to the assualt rifle but SMG isn't as useful as medium range; the assault rifle was better than the shotgun in that regard because it can be used as a mid range weapon, and you didn't spend to much time reloading so it is useful when you are in a close levels with lots of people, if there are less people a shotgun ends up taking over with its awesome power.

Twin needlers get my vote for most fun. They aren't as effective, but their slight lock-on and sticking/explosive capabilities leave me laughing whenever I stick some player like a pincusion and watch him blow. They also annoy plenty of my friends since I use them so much. When utilized, they can make for a great choice.
