Best/Worst Multiplayer Maps

Post your favorite map, and your least favorite and why.

My favorite would have to be Danger Canyon. I know a lot of people like Blood Gulch the best, but this one beats it out by having that system of corridors in between bases. It's like two maps in one. No competition for the best CTF map either.

I hate Derelict, the one inside a ship of some kind. Close-quarters combat is fun, but not that fun.

:shiftyl: For those of you who own Halo PC, that'd be the best map probably. Even though I have never played Halo PC before, except a demo-version of which was crap because my PC is evil. That's a whole nother' story though.

:samurai: -Best: Side-Winder (Snow Level on Halo[Xbox]) While most like Blood-Gulch for the Xbox Halo Version I prefer it's rival. It allows for more wide open space, excellent stage for capture the flag if any of us don't have Halo PC. It is also a perfect stage for sniping despite all the cheap places you can get to in Blood-Gulch. I prefer taking cover behind rocks in shadow-areas or places more obvious for sniping. This stage is also a hot-zone for tanks.

:lame: -Worst: Rat-Race (Indoor Level) The main reason for me saying this, it's cheap for LAN matches of massive proportions, massive numbers of players basically. All you have to do TO win is occupy the area with THE Healthpack and entryway to the canyon, You'll see that there are only two places to get into your place, both make the opponent forced to charge up at you. It works perfectly for team deathmatch but then proves to be cheap for the offense if you're defense. My friends and I call it "The Alamo", we just keep spawning in that same place while the offenders just keep charging. Usual Winning Scores:

Best/Worst map?

Well, hard to say depending on the play style. Overall I enjoy the map "Tombstone" the most. Weapons are put in very good places IE: Want that beautiful sniper rifle or the Rocket launcher? Get up to the middle of the arena to where everyone can take pot shots at you, but if you get that unique weapon...watch out everyone. That person became public enemy number 1.

There's lots of good cover in Tombstone, a real good pistol arena, with all the long range cover. But don't get anxious shotgun users, because the shotgun is easy to find in this level and can be put to great use when you have 12+ people playing away. Tombstone is one of the most wonderful created mellee battles there out out in Halo.

Now the worst? There's lots hehehe. But overall, hmm....what the map called with the 2 ships facing each other? Was it Derelict?? The one with 2 sides and space in between? Unbelievably boring map, too much space to cover at once, too much ladder climbing, and too much stacked battles for those who use shotgun/Rocket L. It's unbalanced and boring. But that's just my opinion.

That's the thing, a lot of people love Blood Gulch, and it is really fun, but when you get right down to it there arn't many tactics involved on it besides charging right at the enemy and dying and dying and dying untill someone wins.

There are a lot of good sniper spots, and the portals are pretty useful. Also it is one of the maps that allows all the playable vehicles other than the Banshee, in xbox.

Ah yes. You have to love the ability to take a Scorpion up against a Warthog. Fun

I don't know about best, there's a lot of good maps out there, but I'd have to say my least favorite is longest.

Can't remember what my most-hated map is, as I usually don't care/get a choice at LANs with my mates. However, we will sometimes say "Let's play Boarding Action!" only to stop 3 minutes into it, after my friend constantly melees people in their sniping positions (not to mention that you can't see most people on opposite ships anyway). Hang 'em High is probably my favourite, followed by Sidewinder with lots of people and vehicles.

This map has to have come from God. It's just such a brilliant map. Try it on CTF with only sniper weapons, it's absolute chaos! :)

Worst Map: Chiron

Too maze-like. Teleporters are too confusing. :(

The level is called Boarding Action, and thats my least favorite map. Even though it can be interesting to teleport behind and meele a sniper in it, but it's got way too much space and the motion tracker becomes absolutely useless.

Favorite level for FFA is definately Wizard. The map was made for the assault rifles, the pistol has too small of a clip with all the carnage going on in there with 8 players, and it has a fast meele attack, which you will need in that level.

Favorite CTF: Hang'em High. Don't really know why this appeals to me, maybe its the central sniper rifle.

Favorite TDM: Blood Gultch. Sidewinder is fun but its wayyy too big for the usual four players, and its fun to go along in the Warthog with a rocket in the passenger seat.

Boarding action can be fun for a few minutes if it's a team slayer and the only weapons are rocket launchers. :)

Favorites - Blood Gulch, open field, caves, spawn camping, all weapons, brilliant, true proving ground since you must be able to handle almost everything, also Sidewinder, close combat and open space, also Hang em High or Rat Race

Haters - Boarding Action, what a waste of memory, Chiron, do you really get to actually play even?

Boarding action was one of my favorite levels. If your playing with 3 other people on one screen, it's so fun to look at their screens and see what level number they are on nd wihich side, and then go there and kill them.

I love boarding action. there are two sniper rifles and loads of very good sniping points. there is also a few rocket launchers

I favor any of the large maps where there is alot of room to snipe, because thats all I am really good at. I also like Hang Em' High.. fun stage.

Worst maps for me are any small maps that you have to use melee skills and such. I'm not so good at that kind of thing.. but if there are pistols then its semi-okay. :P

I like chiron actually... Ive memorized the teleport system and can kill you randolmy with pistol/grenade combos and I HATE boarding action, it just sucks.

Prisoner is the best map ever hands down.... tight close quarters yet roomy enough to have 16P and sniping wars.... dash for the camo and rocket in the middle is fun =)
