Well, just hit your marks, keep aware of where your enemy is, shoot from good cover, cross it up in your favor, and keep mobile. That and shooting two quick shots quickly is sure to kill whoever you have in your sights.

Camping is for wimps
That's like the number one thing most snipers do. And you call yourself a professionel sniper and I bet you do it too. Anyway, there isn't much tips about being a sniper in Halo. I mean just get a good location, then just kill anyone you see.

I don't know.. keep a steady finger and don't "jerk snipe" make sure you have the bead on them before you shoot.. I'm not much of a camper, I am a field sniper and i am hardly ever in the same place.. I like to be patient too.. just sit there and watch them.

If they know you are there they won't come out.. but if they don't know where you are for long periods of times, then they are sure to come out..

Well, umm.. Forget the sniper-profession part. I guess I over-exagerrated a little bit there. I'd just say my accuracy is good enough to the point that I could near almost always get a guaranteed kill without getting spotted. Field sniping is a good tactic I suggest, thanks for putting that up. Camping isn't cool, especially when the bullet leaves a trail behind. I play Halo Xbox version, never was good using a mouse/joystick and my computer is crap when it comes to games. If you play the xbox version I'd recommend the S-controller, seems easier for some-reason. BTW, if any of you would like to try and play me sometime I'd be more than happy to do so, I'd probably stink against you but who cares. *shrug* How to do this would be simple: Use Gamespy Tunnel. --thanks for actually posting something--

Never, ever stay in the same place for more than a couple shots. That goes for any sniping in any game. People get pissed at us snipers, and they'll probably come after you on their next spawn.

Our games don't have that much of a problem with snipers. Thankfully the sniper rifle takes longer to spawn that others, plus the maps we play and the rules we set are low on snipers. With the main maps (blood gultch, tombstone) there's allready few sniper rifles, so we mostly just watch each others backs pretty well. Nothing pisses of a halo sniper than being ganged up on. A simple strategy me and my friends are working with is: 1 person has a sniper rifle, but uses a pistol to run around with, whereas the buddy will carry a heavy weapon IE: Rocket L. Most snipers will take out the Rocket L. carrier. When the first shot goes off we gererally follow the trial, shout the position. If it's 2 shots for the death of the team-mate, the second parter whips out the sniper rifle and targets him back. How does this work?

Practice shooting on the run. That's the best way to train for a sniper, don't stand still. Not only does it make the enemy have a hard time hitting you (notice when your hit your zoom goes to 0%, making that rifle ineffective for a brief moment?) If you have to snipe alone, maybe steal a warhog and hide behind it, when the opposition comes, turn tail with that warhog and get away! Only be a sniper if your good at staying alive under heavy fire, that's the best tip when deciding to be a sniper, as most players take out the campers/snipers first, for sheer sastisfaction.

Ok sniping, Well keep on the move alot; learn all the hiden sniper spots and watch them because snipers worst enemy is another sniper while rotating the less known sniper spots. Remember that most people know the sniper spots so a nice place on the ground works well, but just make sure you aren't going to walk into a middle of a fight.
A trick I do alot is go to a fairly obvious sniper place which people can sneak up behind you but isn't over suspectable to sniping. Kill about 4 people or 20 seconds of killing, which ever is convenant; then go to find a nice place to sniper that point and about 90% of the time, someone comes to kill you and you can sniper them.
In most levels, the sniper places have a route behind them; you must ALWAYS have the route to you blocked, or covered which means, if you are a good enough sniper, you can take out most of the people who will try to snipe you.

Also, this is a cheap stratergy; in Blood gutch, if you have one sniper rifle and there is only one other one. You can sniper the other point, I got about 20 kills through killing everyone who was trying to get the sniper to kill me and since the fastest way towards me was the teleporter which happens to be on their base, I was gaurding that too. Until someone complained so I decided I shouldn't be cheap anymore so they got the sniper rifle while I came up on their base with the AR and killed everyone who was trying to take my place as the sniper:devil:

But for general play I suggest being a good sniper switching between being a kamocarzy and a sniper, if you see a sniper, kill him with a sniper, find a high point kill everyone you can see then rush in with pistol to kill anyone left. If you are a field sniper then you shall use the sniper when on a high point and a pistol in a low (geographly, gameplay wise it is probably better the other way).

Field sniper all the way. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than sniping someone while running. Or while they're cresting a hill..
